Another year, another fantasy football campaign. This thread is where you can discuss your fantasy football team, league, and any questions you may have regarding fantasy sports. It will also serve as the official thread for the Official /wooo/ Fantasy Football League.

The first post of this thread will discuss official league business. I want this thread to serve as a fantasy football general as well, so I don't want people to think it's only /wooo/ league related.

LEAGUE ANNOUNCEMENT

Welcome back to the league. This is our sixth year, and sadly, our first year without original team owner, cole114. He has told me he no longer wishes to be in the league, so he will be replaced. Since we have an opening.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR ONE NEW MEMBER TO JOIN THE OFFICIAL /wooo/ FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUE.

If you’re interested, post in this thread. You don’t need to browse /wooo/ or like wrestling. This league started on /wooo/, but it is first and foremost a fantasy football league. I need someone to join the league by the 20th, just so I know that the draft can go on as scheduled.

THE LEAGUE DRAFT WILL TAKE PLACE ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 26 AT 6:00 PM et, 5:00 ct

This puts the draft during the last four games of the third week of the preseason. This is so that everyone can have a good gauge of who will be starting by week 1, and also which backups and 3rd stringers have stepped up.

THE DRAFT ORDER

  1. Y2YAY
  2. The Lynch Mob
  3. August 1st Warning
  4. Neets in Space
  5. JOB Squad
  6. SAY YEAH!
  7. Sabu
  8. Peppermint Butler
  9. Peligro Abejas
  10. NC2Y
  11. The Team
  12. Smackdown Spoilers
  13. Vacant
  14. PISS MAN

Should be a fun year boys, see you all again on the 26th.

You know, when this league started, no one thought it'd get this far. There were other leagues that called themselves the "official" league of /wooo/. Where are they now? We left them in the dust, boys. When the time came for talk to end, who was there, standing among the dust and ashes? You betcha your ass, it was us boys. I'll tell you something right here and now, jack. Dash and I? We did it all. We carried this league on our backs! When the other teams in this league were pissing and shitting themselves, we were fighting off the threats to our existence. You don't get to our level without having some jerk offs riding your coat tails..

Last year, we proved we're a team to beat! No longer are we sitting in the back, jobbing to the rest of you half-wits. We say it year in and year out and we mean it every damn time. We're going to be league champions one day. Not your Y2YAY's or your Peligro Abejas's of the world. Those numb nuts can't lace our boots! No, we'll end up going down in history as the best tag team this league and every other league has ever seen. Like the USPS, we're here through rain, sleet and snow. You can't hold us back! There's no doubt that Dash and I will be the champs by season end.

So bring on the old guns. Bring on the new guy. We'll chew them up and shit them out. We especially want PISS MAN to listen to what we have to say. You've been a bad ass from day one. Well those days are over. You'll come to see that no one stands toe to toe with Say Yeah! Don't forget about Sabu, our Week One opponent. You somehow keep botching your way through season after season. You always seem to be in the middle of the pack. Never the champ, never the chump either. There doesn't seem to be any real motivation from you at all! Well, we'll tell you right now, Sabu, we're motivated. We'll kick your ass up, down and all around the ring! You are a stepping stone to our success.

End the end, you all will be crushed beneath our boots.

Top Guys out.

I've got the first pick, but don't know who to take. I want Zeke, but we might not have him for a couple weeks. Le'veon is another good choice, but I think he's serious in sitting out until he gets paid. I could go after Jay Ajayi, but he's got Cutler and I don't personally think he's going to be as good. He screams "one season wonder" to me, at least to the level at which he played last year. David Johnson is good, but he's going to be carrying a big load on a Cardinals team I don't believe in, so he might get hurt.

Of course, my boys Dez Bryant and AJ Green are studs, but you don't take a WR with the first overall pick. I just don't know.

I'm probably taking Zeke. GO COWBOYS!!!

Oh boy, oh boy. Time to not spend any time preparing and then spending the draft day in panic mode trying to work out what the fuck I'm doing again.

Then again, I was second last season, so maybe that's a formula for success! No matter what, this should be fun.

Seriously though, this will likely change who I end up with in the 1st round. I had assumed that it'd be either Jones or Beckham.. Now I'm not sure.. Everyone moves up one because of Elliot's ranking..

no bump..

I immediately just dropped Watkins down my board. As a Clemson fan, I love him dearly. As a fantasy football player, I know that it's likely a death knell unless the Rams can get better. I'm waiting to see where some of the experts I follow put him.

tbh I think this helps him, there's a ground game in LA that will get focused on every play and he's their only real downfield target

it all depends on if goff can actually play, but I like the situation better than buffalo

I just feel like the QB talent level is leaps and bounds lower on the Rams. I could be proven wrong but I feel like he had it better in Buffalo. Shady was there and he can do better than Gurley on most days. I just feel like he was in a position to do well before. He might do well as a Ram but he's now got to learn a new playbook this late into the off-season. I'm just thinking of it like it's a two to four week suspension in that he's going to need time to adjust. When he can, he might do okay. I just worry about this being an off year for him. For a guy with as many injuries as he's had, he really needed a good year.

A finally healthy Watkins and Tyrod both going into contract years should've provided a nice fantasy year for both of them. Tyrod is underrated in general, he's way better than Goff at this point in their careers. Not to mention the Rams are installing a whole new offense and still have yet to prove they can open holes for Gurly, the situation in Buffalo would've been better all around for Tyrod/Watkins/Shady.

Honestly with Watkins injury history and so little time to acclimate to a new offense I can't pull the trigger on him unless he falls a lot. I kind of like Jordan Matthews a little more as the WR1 in Buffalo now even if that team isn't likely to be good either, I just like Tyrod as a QB much more than Goff.

Tampa Bay drafts a Kicker in the second round and a year later has released him. That'll teach them that you don't draft a kicker until the second to last round, the last round or not at all.. What rank amateurs.

There's always the exceptions to the rules. I just believe that there are more reasons for there being these rules in place than there are those that are exceptions. As a Clemson Tigers fan, I used to wonder why people thought Florida State's kicker was better than our kicker. Chandler Catanzaro was amazing when he was a Tiger. He played three years with the Cardinals and now he's with the Jets. Aguayo is now looking for a place to even challenge for a shot. It just never made sense.

To be fair, Aguayo is still the all time most accurate kicker in college football, and kicker is the position where things change the least from the college to pro level. Sure round 2 is early, but if the Bucs had a need at the position and they believed another team would've taken him then it's not all that unreasonable to take him when all signs pointed to him being a great prospect.

Sure he's a bust now but there were no questions about him coming out of college, he just couldn't handle the pressure of the big league.

Well it looks like he went to Chicago, so it looks like he'll get a second chance. I guess I understand why there needs to be a kicker for the real thing. I just think it's a useless spot in fantasy football. How often does a kicker actually change the outcome of a game? I can't think of a time where a kicker was what put me over into the win column. I'd rather have an extra bench spot than a spot for a kicker. Unfortunately, most leagues want them.

I think a lot of people agree with you but for the opposite reason: how frustrating it is to lose because of a kicker. Kickers go for between 7-15 points most weeks and sometimes even more, whereas a flex guy could easily lay an egg. It adds even more randomness to fantasy but can also be really frustrating.

Maybe I've never had a good kicker then. Usually I'm lucky if I get around five or six points. Sometimes I don't even get that much. I've had some rare occasions where I get close to ten. Still I can't remember a time when the four points my kicker got me, was enough to get me a win over my opponent. Most of the time a kicker isn't going to be my last second hail mary for a win.

I honestly have no clue if the draft is still this coming Saturday. Y2YAY isn't responding on Twitter. There's also the fact that we might still be down a man. I would still be prepared for a Saturday draft. You also should be prepared to have it postponed. If I learn anything, I will post it or blast out a league wide message. That is unless Y2YAY does it first.

Maybe he's just off twatter for a bit given recent events that can make that kind of place toxic to even look at. Not 10 days ago he posted a pic of some wooo league figures he made so I dunno. Anyway it's still a week away so I guess we'll see.

As for being down a man, yeah that could be an issue. I've always loved how this was a bigger league, it would suck to go down from 14.
