People like to use the consecutive Finals appearances to bolsters James' claim, but the East isn't even a shadow of what Jordan had to contend with. Not gonna come down hard on him for walking off. He's probably still fighting the urge to decapitate J.R. Smith.

I'd probably have fond memories of this Warriors team/NBA era if it weren't for Durant. I can't blame him for wanting to get a title anymore than I blamed LeBron, but him joining Golden State was the Bone the Fish moment for me and superteams. The NBA is boring.

Contrast this Final with the Stanley Cup, and it's embarrassing. The NBA has never been a league of parity, but this is pathetic. It wouldn't even feel right to me to congratulate Golden State. This outcome has been a forgone conclusion since they hoisted the last trophy.

It's where I expected him to land. They won't be dethroning the Warriors, which is a shame because a Lakers/Celtics final with the Lebron/Kyrie subplot would be far more interesting than watching the Warriors turn the east rep into the Washington Generals again. I'm mainly looking forward to Lavar Ball saying something stupid and the fallout from it, although maybe with his own future NBA'er at home Lebron will be taking notes on being an overbearing sports dad.

Holy hell, he signed for only $5 million and some change, too. Props to him for going for a championship instead of more money on team that has no chance at winning a championship.

Also, Spurs aren't going to trade Kawhi anytime soon. For one, his trade value is completely fucked with his retarded "camp" letting it be known he wants to play in LA no matter what, so the Lakers and Clippers will just wait a year to sign him outright instead of trading away assets they don't need to. I expect this shit to get really messy, though, because the Spurs won't kowtow to his demands and then the union will get involved when the Spurs try to recoup his remaining salary because he's just going to sit at home and not even join the team.

Pretty much no matter what the Spurs are going to get dragged through the mud because of this. The only way I see Kawhi getting traded is at the trade deadline if some contender gives them a godfather offer of first rounders and expiring contracts so they can not miss a step with next year's draft and free agency in what looks like a 1-year quasi-rebuild since they have no hopes of winning the title but they also won't be basement dwelling scrubs, either. I can really see them not trading Kawhi and letting him go a whole year+ without playing and then walking in shame in free agency to either the Lakers or Clippers next year to let it be known to everyone else in the league that you don't try to fuck Pop & Buford in the ass with the whole world to see and get away with it.

I'm still not sure how to gauge the Cavs's competitiveness and whether they can even make it to the playoffs, especially now with the added loss of Jeff Green. I don't think it's going to be as bad as 2010-11 but I still think the deciding factor is going to be Tyronn Lue's capability.. Maybe without LeBron overruling his coaching, he might justify his employment but he might also prove he's as worthless as we've all been thinking... Either or, I just hope Cleveland doesn't go back to being a laughing stock.

Well, reports are that they're trying to trade off Kevin Love. Most likely for older players with high contracts. If they do that, they're in full tank mode. The roster is all young guys, so they could develop, but the Clarkson deal is trash and Hill, JR, Tristan, and Clarkson are all gonna be difficult to trade.

Coaching is literally killing Lue, I'm betting he walks away before the season begins. He has no hope to win another title as it is, might as well go full rebuild and hire a new coach to oversee player development (something Lue absolutely has no talent in doing so).

God damn the Suns are actually giving Devin Booker a 5 year, $158 million contract extension. I mean the Suns are one of the worst teams in the league so giving their best player a huge contract was the only way to keep him considering the coaching changes they’ve had the past couple of seasons. Let’s just hope it pays off for them even if they’re gonna get fucked by the likes of the Warriors, Rockets, Spurs, etc.

You're right bro. The Cavs should keep emphasizing their old, fragile veterans who only show up for the paycheck by pushing a hard, fast, playmaker Lebron style of Basketball that none of them have the talent for, all the while, completely failing to develop the new players so they look completely lost when out on the court.

I really think the "no defense, no offense, and lose steam before the end of the third quarter" playstyle should be tested at least 76 more times before a decision is made on Lue.

>Bowie starts playing

same thing happened to that 18 year old who Jordan drafted. still, he was able to bounce around the league and made tens of millions of dollars. other teams will probably do the same with Fultz if he leaves the Sixers, just sign him as a backup on sheer talent alone. i mean fuck, look how D-Rose is playing in Minnesota right now. Might as well.

Plus for Phillie's rebuild, they ended up going 2/3 Embid and Simmons now that Embid has been about to be relatively healthy for about 2 years. Could've been worse.
>>
Graham Shittinghall - Sat, 01 Dec 2018 22:54:22 EST ID:w3ZuxuEn No.32621 Ignore Report Quick Reply

D-Rose's problems were never mental, though (other than him realizing how shitty the situation was in Cleveland last year and just deciding to take a sabbatical). It would be more apropos to compare his current career with Brandon Roy, although it appears Rose hasn't broken down as fast as Roy did and Rose was always a better player than Roy.

Fultz, though, seems mentally broken by something. Not sure if it was pressure or some sort of resentment or self-doubt because he was a star PG drafted to a team that already gave their keys to a star PG in Simmons. The Fultz pick shouldn't have been a bust, but it seems comparable to that retarded T-Wolves draft when they drafted Ricky Rubio and Jonny Flynn back-to-back with their 5th and 6th round picks. It seems like Colangelo had already gone retarded by the time he picked Fultz and he was thinking like he was building a fantasy team where if Simmons was hurt or underperformed he could just plug in Fultz and didn't account for team chemistry and the negative effect that drafting a PG #1 overall and then trying to make them either the backup PG or converted into an undersized SG would do.

I dunno, if Fultz can clear up his mental issues and get traded elsewhere maybe he can salvage his career in a Marvin Williams kind of way. Dude seems like the biggest basketball bust in history, though, even worse than that fat kid Cleveland drafted like 8 years ago.
