This video advertises a clothing line which uses redesigned Swastikas as the main theme. Apparently the aim of this Ad is to destroy the stigmatization of the Nazi Swastika connecting the symbol to new meanings: Peace, Love and Freedom. Very interesting

how many is too many? wardrobe size by Cyril Buncocke - Tue, 20 Jan 2015 11:19:47 EST ID:U73K+tjn No.59756 Ignore Report Reply Quick Reply

i'm interested to have a discussion about what everyone considers a minimal amount of clothes or at what point does it become excessive? whether in the retail price or the quantity you own

i used to have a thing for clothes and trainers - ended up having too many (picture from years ago) and thought it was getting a little tastless and unnecessary... have really been trying to cut down and own about 9 pairs now (3 beaters, 3 everyday, 3 premium pairs) and just wear the same pair of jeans everyday and 1 other pair for "nice" occasions

clothing wise i've cut down massively, but considering selling all of my designer stuff - stone island jackets/shirts/jumpers for instance with 3 figure resale prices

my wardrobe would still be fine without it but a part of me likes having the items, even if i'm not nearly as absorbed in buying clothes or caring as much anymore - whats left are the finely curated, absolute "best of, personal favourite" stuff

no need to sell but sometimes i ask why i'm bothering with such expensive clothes, these items will last for life though, i've pretty much settled on a wardrobe that should last me the next 5 years because i gotta save money for other things now that i'm in university

i paid for a lot of these through selling on my used clothes, it's effectively cashing out an ongoing investment - i've been on ebay for several years just recycling my wardrobe and going on ebay shopping sprees with the money

Today I realized what my wardrobe is lacking. Long sleeved shirts!. It just skips from short sleeved shirts to hoodies and jackets. I need to strike that middle ground. Where do I get some cool-ass long sleeved shirts? Also, I have marks on my arms that I pick at when I get nervous. I think having them covered up would help me resist that urge and let them heal.

Get a different haircut, at it's current length the sides stick out and makes your head look bulbous. So either let your hair grow out or get your sides and back shortened. I wouldn't necessarily say you have a babyface, you have some decent jawline geometry. In fact your existing glasses just might work fine if you can get a better style going on with your hair.

Pic related, a short haircut that I think looks similar to your type of hair.

Your nose is relatively short and your chin is long, so you'll want to balance with a high-sitting bridge. You need something bolder at the top to compensate for your weak brow line and give you more masculine definition. Clubmaster styles like those by Matsuda, Lunor, Oliver Peoples, even the one from the new Gucci collection would look pretty good on you.

I'm an optician.

I'm historically a DM man. Right now I'm riding out the last few months of my bottle green 1460's. Always look after my boots, but these days (due to the predominantly Asian manufacturing) the quality has dropped in a noticeable way.

I'm looking for something reminiscent of the attached pic, however I don't want 10,000 buckles or stamped inlays fucking everywhere.

what do you think about this self made "Gucci" shirt, would you buy something like that if you were at a festival for example, if yes how much would you pay?
It is meant as a joke of course but I kind of like the way it turned out and I also think it is a fun statement on today's brand culture.

I tried to copy this design (pic related) , with the red and green stripes, apparently they are highly trendy status symbol in the US right now (this video led to this conclusion : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDbOX_6l7Lg&).

I am not trying to scam anyone, the idea was to sell them to "alternative" people who could get behind the joke and I thought that I might find people like that on this site.
I wouldn't charge more than 15 Euros per Shirt ( about 17 Dollars) and that would even be a bit too much in my opinion but I guess you're right, people will pay whatever if they have the right incentive.

I ma excited about buying myself a tracksuit! I just don't know which brand to choose, there are lots of good brands (apparently) and I'm going to mostly wear it while riding a bike and hiking/running so it has to be comfy during a couple of hours sweating. I'm pretty skinny and tall so do I choose baggy or fit?

contrast - desaturated light colors, dark saturated colors, more black with striking variation in texture (ex: cable knit against neoprene)

gray is your friend, arrange it between black and the colors that are too dark to contrast against the black
light gray + dark saturated color + black is always great
dark gray + light desaturated color + black is clean as well

a color's saturation is its intensity - white, gray, and black have a saturation of 0%; the primary colors and also very green limes are typically represented at 100% saturation for reference[%]

Accenting black can look really good. It's a nice way to add 'color' to your look without adding real color. it makes you stand out and some people can really fucking pull it off. try doing things like wearing white tees under your black hoodies, or finding caps and hoodies with white accents(white stripes, buttons, tags etc). Shoes can be huge too. The thing about working with such a small color palette is that it's easy to look mediocre and blend in with almost everyone else. If you can keep a sense of actual style with your shit, it'll make you stand out as 'that guy who wears always wears black but damn does he look good in it' instead of 'that guy who always wears black who is so boring i'm getting bored just talking about him right now'.

Dressing kind of fancy can be fun. If you can pull it off. Only go for a look if you can pull it off, by the way, not because some male model or Johnny Depp looks good in it. Fedoras are a good example, because most people look like morons in them. Most people don't realize this because they're thinking they look like James Stewart or something. So anways, dress nicely if you can do it. A few nice buttons ups from american eagle are a casual take. A really button-down shirt from Zara or Express is a lot more formal but also a lot more stylish. It can be very GQ, as they say. That's another way to add something to your wardrobe without sacrificing your black. They can still be all black but if they fit right no one will even notice

I've scanned through this board in search of some sort of inspiration and I found that there's been like only 2 or 3 threads ever that deal with women's fashion, so maybe I should start one? I'd love it if this became a thread for people to post images of outfits they liked worn by women or etc.

Anyways I came here myself because I'm feeling lost on what to wear anymore. I'm a girl and I've always had a tendency towards cross-dressing or trying to appear androgynous, I've basically always worn comfy tshirts and flannels/sweaters and pants, now as I'm getting older I feel more comfortable with the idea of expressing some feminity and I feel like I don't want to dress so sloppily anymore. I've already just gone through a phase of wearing high-waisted shorts and short skirts and adhering to the popular fashions right now, but I just don't find them comfortable? I'm also not that interested in looking "sexy" anymore, I'm done showing off my legs or bust, I hate showing too much skin with all these trends and the unwanted attention they bring. I still want to look good though? Wat do?

>TL;DR how do I dress stylishly as a woman but still stay modest when all the trends seem to be pushing towards immodesty?

OP, first off, you should narrow down your body type, then pay attention to what silouette you're leaning towards portraying. After that, you'll have a way easier time picking out clothes for your sense of style.
By paying attention to your body type, you'll be able to see what looks good on you and why. By paying attention to silouettes, you'll be able to see which one you prefer and what hemline and waistline matches that.
Pic is an example of common runway sillouettes.
