Hey man, we have Dr. M and Dr. Katz in /benz/. If you want to become the acting physician of /stim/ please start up a Trip and run with it. A lot of trips, especially around here, are frowned upon but if you have a medical take that most people don't please feel free to tripcode to your heart's content.

I'd love to hear a med student's take on hexen, meth, alpha PVP, adderall and all the other fun drugs that exist to stim you out. Welcome back and remember, the board won't get better until actual decent users start posting again.

Ooh, my sober nemesis.
I take your success as a [side-quest] challenge.

I had to draw up some motivation from my gut and roll back my drug use by a good measure, but I still use! I am at the top of my class or the top of my class in at least a couple of my classes and have around a 90% average. I only just started doing studying, attending classes, handing in all my assignments and being able to focus/organize and I'm 25. ADD.

But I hear you motherfucker I wound up in the hospital a couple times from crazy shit I did while high on stims. You caught me. I hate to admit it, but perhaps a good portion of the users on this forum may make their own visits to emergency.

But that is not to say that one cannot succeed and be a drug user, even a user of what are considered to be hard substances and still be a high achiever in life.

Congrats on your good fortune and hard work paying off. I'm glad what you did is working for you!

it was more the opis that were the issue than the stims. weekend warrior dilaudid turned to 2 weeks of poppin percs because i had a plug for 120 tabs for $200

i didnt feel "burnt out" but it was just a bitch trying to kick the cravings. fought them for months, it took almost an entire year for me to forget about drugs. REALLY helps to take up a hobby like lifting or instrument playing. it's a slippery slope - if you want to quit, quit. none of that "chipping in every now and then". you're either using or you're not.

if anything, 5 hours of lectures followed by an 8 hour hospital shift for an entire semester leaves me burnt out lmao.

Yeah opi addiction is honestly a way worse beast on your back. Just so much money spent so fast chasing a weening high that leaves you sick for days after.

You also take way huger medical risks on opis. Nodding out not treating your misses that turn to abscesses. Shooting shit with stuff in it that can kill you, at least you know your crystal ain't got no fuckin fent in it and shooting meth won't give you MRSA. Also stim addicts live slightly more productive lives than opi addicts and tend to not boost shit to afford their high.

I took adderall for for 8 years with a year of pretty substantial meth use at the end of my stint. It took about a year of no stimulant use to begin to feel sharp again. It’s an ongoing process, but it’s absolutely worth doing. Good luck.

>You also take way huger medical risks on opis
I'd beg to differ - Yeah, you are taking huge risks with street shit, and with intravenous use. That's why I stuck to pharmaceuticals. That being said - taking recreational doses of stims daily is generally a lot worse for your health than taking recreational doses of opis.

There are plenty of meth heads that don't do jack shit. A junkie's a junkie - a functional drug user is ... well, a functional drug user. Speaking to colleagues who are high up in business or in medicine - opis are used way more than stims. Especially in medicine, actually. You burn out a lot easier taking stims. Opis help cope with the stress. Alcohol use is through the fucking roof for both fields.
>>285635
15~20mg d-amp IR daily, ungodly amounts of caffeine, on weekends i'd take far more than 15~20mg, had a habit on not sleeping on fridays and sometimes saturdays. sounds pretty tame compared to the shit ive read on here tbh.

quitting coffee was harder than quitting d-amp, lol. i was better within weeks, not a year - but again, its not as much as others. i used stims for <2 years.

if you think you'll feel better, go for it.

FOREVER FUCKING THIS!!

Also most people I know with dope habits tend to be the shittiest people I know. I can't even say that for some dope users because said users wouldnt use in the first place if it wenrt for those other shitcock dope users.

I don't like meth nor crack, either but even they have more meaningful, productive lives and are better people than any dopehead ive ever met.

Opis, with the only exception being kratom esp because it takes off the negative afteredge of blow, are the dumbest drugs there are as well. Because like sasha said,
>so much money spent so fast chasing a weening high that leaves you sick for days after.

Once I started using meth I basically quit dosing the adderall. Built up a huge stockpile of it over time. Ended up just throwing it away when I quit everything (as in destroying it, not just throwing months of prescription pills in the garbage). When I was taking adderall I’d frequently use 120mg+ in a day. I started mething around because I got tired of my script running out two weeks into the month, which really fucked up my tolerance once the built-in breaks were gone.

Thanks, i feel very lucky to run across an educated person who has quit.

Any advice/tips you have? I heard that exercise helps (and it is god tier anyway). Also possibly supplements which may boost production of neurotransmitters (e.g. l-tryosine as it is a dopamine precursor). I would specultate a change in scenery helps as well (conditioned place preference). I reckon i'll list all the cons to amp (and negative effects i've experienced, like dental issues) so when i am tempted i can think logically.

What did you find was the worst part? The first week(s), or cravings or other things?
