Hey /tech/
I'll be taking my A+ Certification Tests here shortly, and I'm having a bit of test anxiety. I'm currently working a pretty crappy job and I have a promise of a better new job as soon as I'm certified, but the tests are expensive and I could really only scrape enough money together for one shot at the tests.

If any of you are A+ certified and have any advice or words of wisdom I would really appreciate it.

A+ is a junk cert and the test is entirely multiple choice trivia. If you take a practice test and pass comfortably then don't worry about it. If you think you need to improve your score, cramming is a perfectly valid way to regurgitate trivia.

Sorry my submit button went off accidentally. I meant my previous post so say:

This. It's a junk cert. It was also a perpetual cert back when and now requires renewal because why bilk people just once when you can do it on a 3 year cycle.

The test is also retard-with-a-headwound easy.

Every cert is a junk cert. Every. Single. One.

It's just a clever little way that these companies figured out how to squeeze even more money out of computer graduates. "We know that you just spent $40,000 on tuition, but hey you should definitely spend another $800 on this cert that your employer pretends to care about because we're giving them kickbacks on every cert we sell"

You dropped 40K on a degree and went for a job that needed an entry level guy off the street cert? Anyway, there are plenty of respectable certs that require training and practical skills.

I did 800 series, gotta say if you have the job lined up study like hell, know your CMD and know how a printer works. if you don't have a job to apply the certification to don't bother.
