Well how much do you want to spend on it, and what's the general aesthetic you're trying to maintain?

tarp is easy, tin would last forever, or you could rip off the old roof, put on new plywood, cover it with roofing felt and then nail down asphalt shingles like roofers do, or you could just hire a handyman.

what kinda shit you keep in there? if outside airflow is ok then just get corrugated metal and bolt that shit to some 2x4's, job's done

This is actually an easy one.
Buy nail puller.
Attempt to take roof apart.
If you find you don't know what you're doing
Hire a fucking framer before you get yourself hurt.
