Just got my first job offer for an equipment engineering position. BS in mech eng. Debt free thanks to uncle sam.

55k/yr + EoY bonus, avg 8k
company car + insurance/maintenance/gas
paid expenses for travel around the country and internationaly (mexico, canada, japan)
company credit card
phone allotment
health/vision/dental

with a 2.81 GPA that they didn't even ask about.

stay in school nerds.

They told me in my school's career center that 55-60k was what could expect starting out and with that eoy bonus I'm looking at 60k at least. Glassdoor says 67 in Ohio though for entry level mech eng.... I'll be looking for a new job in a year or two anyway. This isn't a very interesting job tbh. Not nearly as much design work as I'd like.

People that couldnt graduate highschool make 100-150k a year in the oilfields their first year.
