I've been making this deck tonight, before I even read this comment!(what are the chances..)

Very playable TOON deck can sort-of compete with even the top decks today: It focuses on "Black stone legend" summoning "Red Eyes toon dragon", which can then summon "Toon Dark Magician" for easy search/XYZ. The deck has a lot of drawing/searches for "TOON KINGDOM", cards like "Terrorforming" and "Sacred Sword of Seven Stars". I added magic cylinder for EPIC LOLs, and "vanity's empitness" can win games when played at the right time. Idea is to deal direct damage quickly while constantly seaarching for toon kingdom.

If you don't recognise any of the cards in the pic lemme know and I can write the names.

So it's more than just Chaos people who can mess with removed from play shit? Yeah that does sound kinda dumb. No point in having two largely identical discard piles. looks like a lot of my favofrite cards are useless too if there's no point in making your opponent discard shit from their hand. no more don zaloog fuckery those xyz things sound kind of overpowered too. Is there even a point in monsters you have to sacrifice for anymore? I bet ritual and fusion monsters are just useless now.

>>28112
Wow they've really expanded the whole toon thing over the years. That makes me happy. also I recently learned Pegasus has the exact same speech pattern in japanese as he does english. It almost seems like the same voice actor, and they both say "yugi boy" in plain english in the exact same accent.

I mean, banished zone is 9/10 times final for the cards sent there, which is why "Dimensional Fissure" and "Macro Cosmos" are seen as "antimeta" cards because they punish graveyard cycling, but there are some decks like kozmo(TOP 3 deck) that can cycle the banished zone too.

Xyz is actually really cool, they work by having 2 or more cards of the same level on the field, you can then overlay them to summon an XYZ, usually these cards effects require you to "detach" xyz material(the cards used to summon the xyz) to the grave.

Ritual cards are barely ever used, except by some specific decks. Fusion monsters are still important in some decks, since you can use a fusion monster as XYZ material. Pic is my HERO deck, which is all about summoning big fusion dudes :)

Ya toons got new cards last year which makes them playable in a few different ways now.

So, you play eh? which faction(s)? What do you think of the game in general?

I started with Tohaa this summer. I've enjoyed it greatly so far though there are a few odd things. It also has a lot of rules. I think I would have been hopelessly lost if I had not had such a great person teaching this game to me.

So I attacked with 2 creatures, 1 got chumped with the other trampling through, I then play the instant in pic related optioning to have my trampler untap & attack, but my opponent went off saying n-n-n-nope uh-uhh can't be done because my attack phase ended (that I never said was over) and I can't have ANOTHER attack phase (which I never claimed to gain) because he said that that instant is only for if I already had tapped said creature for a tap-required ability to untap & use it during my attack phase; I think this is bullshit because I know there are cards that give YOU an additional attack phase and this card doesn't have a specific kind of only-certain-kinds-of-tap activation/restriction, and this card is clearly saying that target creature untaps and that it may either attack or use it's tap-ability again. Who's in the right here??

I say this may be a good pickup if you're running any sort of black.

Or a Bow of Nylea, which gives all your creatures deathtouch. It would allow you to stay on the offensive and keep him on the defensive unless he has some sort of removal. That's the best thing I can think of for your situation other than burn instants.

You have to deal enough to destroy each creature before any damage runs over to the next blocker, unless it has deathtouch. Then you only have to assign one damage to each blocker, because 1 damage is lethal. At least, that's how it worked a long time ago. I actually haven't had a large deathtouch creature gang blocked in several years because it was never a smart move.

This is mostly right, but the attacker gets to decide how to distribute the damage.
So if your 1 power creature gets blocked by 2 creatures, you can choose which one to assign the damage to and destroy, not the defending player.

See
http://mtg.wikia.com/wiki/Blocking
for the simple answer

See
http://mtgsalvation.gamepedia.com/Declare_blockers_step
rule 509.2 for the detailed version - attacker chooses block order

Attacker chooses how to assign damage, but the blocker chooses the order of blockers.
So if two creatures block a 1/X, it is only dealing 1 damage to the first blocker. Attacker's only damage assignment option is to deal 1 damage to the first blocker.

There's a new amateur gamedev community trying to establish itself, >>>/vg/664016 but I personally think it's better to start a new community than try and migrate. So, maybe some of you have an interest in computer games, or at least you could help folks balance their mechanics. The topics intersect at a whole bunch of points, so I thought I'd just mention.

It's fertile ground, but needs some interest. Sorry, this is not exactly tabletop so please don't reply, just let this sink and check it out if you're interested, disregard if not.

Bump for Vintage justice. For those who don't know how Type 1 MTG works:

  1. Roll for first turn
  2. If you don't win roll, lose the game
2.a. If you lose roll, but have a force of will available, then you win the game, unless you're opponent also has a force of will available, in which case you lose the game.

Play with 3 forces of will, one up each sleeve

Chapter Master is a space marine chapter management game. Each marine can be customized and load outs changed. Vehicles and weapons can be produced. And trading between factions of the Imperium is possible.

The game is still in Alpha, but its already gained serious momentum and builds are coming out every other week. It Does have some bugs. So Save often.

Hi /tg/

I recently got very interested in MTG and I'd like to learn as much as fast as possible. I already know someone who I can play it with (at a tabletop store, there also is Friday Night Magic).

I bought Magic 2014 (2015 was not recomended) and already am learning a lot from that game.

My question is: What is the best forum or community around MTG?

Not that guy, but we don't get that much Belgian beer out in the USA. Belgian beer is amazingly good, but yet it's not very popular out here. We have a brand called Blue Moon that claims to be Belgian, but it's not. Other than that you have to go to a specialty store to get Belgian beer here. A few of our domestic brewers are making beers that are of a real Belgian quality as well, but it's all small potatoes.

I'm new to MtG and at first it seemed super confusing, but second day playing I beat the ass of the dude who taught me and have subsequently been doing so.

I'm starting off with a red goblins deck which seems a good starter, easy to stack a buncha gobs and do massive damage.

I wanna definitely do a black deck when I get the hang of the game more tho. Always was the kinda guy who played psychic and dark types in pokemon, so its my sorta thing.

What you need is a blue deck that focuses on artifact retrieval with your main cards being Krark-Clan Ironworks, Myr Retrievers, and Brainfreeze. There's a card from Mirrodin that is a blue creature, costs 1 blue 1 colorless, tap: produces 2 colorless that can only be spent on casting artifacts and artifact creatures. I usually would end up with one, two if I was lucky. Turn 3-4 is the quickest I've ended games with this build.

Hey guys I'm brainstorming ideas for an upcoming VTM game and figured I'd see what other people thought.
It's set in 1860s Wilmington NC, just before the American Civil War and I plan to run it through to 1865 after the war ends.
The players will be a newly shovelheaded pack of Sabbat created to aid in the capture of the currently Cam city, then prevent it from being retaken.
I've looked up IRL timeline stuff for the area and fairly close maps. I also looked up Cannon cWoD timelines to get as much background fluff as possible.

If you have any ideas let me know.

My gaming group doesn't have the focus to do a heavy politic style game yet, most of their experiences has been dungeon crawls in D&D/Pathfinder. I'm hoping this game will get them more interested in role play rather than simple power fantasies of one fight after another for no greater purpose than to level up and get better gear.
I figure the Sabbat is a good middle ground as it gives them lots of combat and they'll need to role play adopting a path on enlightenment or lose themselves to the beast. I hope it'll get their beaks wet for more character driven stuff in the future.

I don't generally like sabbat much, but in your situation I think it's a good fit. That will probably help transition your greenhorns from hack n slash to melodrama nicely.

I'd say one thing that may help you is make a list of old-timey era appropriate Names for you to apply to NPCs on the fly. Also, maybe look into some old business names or make some up. Just flavor suggestions really, you're already on the right track with looking up the geography and history of the place. Being able to pull random period appropriate names and places out of you hat will help further keep the setting feeling fully fleshed out.
