I've been cursed with hipster genetics and seem to prefer snuff tobacco to any other form. The burn in the nose, the stay of the aroma, the history of it - everything. Just got an order in, picked up Fribourg and Treyer's Seville, Wilson & Co. Best SP, Gawith and Hoggarth's Spartan, and Molens Peppermint.

My favourite has to be the Molens, followed closely by McCrystal's Medicated Mint & Wilson's Best SP.

Pretty fucking obscure, anyone else here snuff?

Holy shit way to make snuffing lame as fuck. Snuff does not make you cool or unique its just a nice way to consume tobacco.

But yeah I fucking love snuff came here to see if there was a snuff thread for any recommendations because my nicotine tolerance is high and the snuff I've tried had to be consumed in mass quantities.

Ok in all honesty, this thread got me curious about snuff. Apart from all the statistics saying shit about less cancer ,what are the real upsides to snuff as opposed to lets say smoking a cigar? Does the smell have anything to do with it? Does it feel nice? Basically can someone tell me what the big deal with snuff is and convince me to try it?

You can find snuffs out there with a load of nicotine but generally it's a lot like a cigar in that you're not trying to get a nicotine fix but enjoy the flavor and relax.

You're meant to enjoy the aroma.

Honestly I think anyone who tries snuff would enjoy it, I don't see why not. My first snuff was pic related and it smelled like rum, brown sugar and maple syrup and it's easy to get into your nose without it shooting back into your sinuses.

Plus it's only a few dollars. You should check out mrsnuff.com

I live in Poland, I can only find Poschl snuff in my town. Here's a review of all the ones I've tried if anyone's interested.

Lowen-Prise: menthol & licorice/tobacco, strong unique licorice smell when you first open the box, but after using it a few times got too used to the smell and could only sense the menthol anymore. Do recommend.

Alpina: you wouldn't expect something in a plain green box called Alpina to taste like straight up artificially-flavored kids' fruit punch. Mentholated, but way too fruity for my taste. Wouldn't recommend, unless you really like fruit.

Gletscher Prise: this was a weird one. The taste is of straight up pine trees, mentholated. Won't buy it again but recommend trying it out at least once to experience what it's like to snort pine sawdust.

Gawith Apricot: one of the best. Apricot is a really nice taste for snuff, you don't get tired of it. Recommended.

Ozona Orange & Ozona Raspberry: pretty good, tastes exactly as you would expect. Mentholated. Would recommend at least once.

Ozona Cherry (not pictured): kinda nasty, tasted too artificial for me. Not recommended.

Red Bull "Strong" (not pictured): basic menthol, nothing special flavor-wise. Nice nicotine kick though. Would recommend.

Ozona Snuffy Weiss: it's literally powdered sugar with flavor. It was actually a pretty nice taste with light hints of fruit (it's made from grape sugar, so tasted a bit like grape). Good for mixing down. Would recommend.

Cheap-ass aluminum snuff bullet from eBay ($2): you have to do at least 2 hits to be satisfied, but better than no bullet at all. It had aluminum burrs on the inside I had to file away before using it. Not sure how healthy snorting from an aluminum bullet is. Would recommend though if like me, you hate snuffing with your fingers.

My favorite snuff is from India, 41 Photo's White Elephant. It will put the pep in your step.

I like all sorts though. Samuel Gawith's Kendal Anything are all very good. I like F&T's Santo Domingo. I like American scotches I buy at Food Lion, besides the sweets which are pig disgusting. I like SP's, but get bored of them if they're all I use. I like toasts. I like it all.

But White Elephant is in a class all its own. You can be seeing-double drunk and a couple of bumps will make you sober for 20 minutes. It's comparable to amphetamine, honestly.

Here's an update if anyone's interested. Snuff has actually caused me to quit smoking because the nicotine hit from snuff is stronger than from cigarettes for me. (Like, why buy 5% beer after you discover that 9% beer gets you drunk faster?) Left->Right = best->worst

Grado Caffe - absolutely awesome as far as flavored snuff goes. A mix of delicious coffee and chocolate flavor with very light menthol. But the reason I bought it only once is the container is horrible: tiny hole, only 4 grams, and container doesn't turn properly.

Ozona President - awesome snuff; the best I've had. Can't quite pin down the flavor but I think it's lemon-menthol. Only downside is it's 7g instead of the standard 10g.

Ozona Spearmint - good as a neutrally menthol snuff. The spearmint flavor is fine. As I can only get mentholated snuff in my town, this is the most neutral snuff I can buy.

Ozona Cherry - good the first few times, but sickly sweet afterwards. If you want to enjoy it, only use it once in a while.

Red Bull - this was the first snuff I ever bought, and I rebought it recently to remind myself what it's like. I don't like it. Gives me super congestion whenever I use it. It's just strongly mentholated and that's it. Don't intend to ever buy it again.

I've bought every variety I can in my town. If I want to try other types I'll have to buy online. Really want to try Indian snuffs like White Elephant.

Currently liking Lowen Prise and Apricot. I like to alternate them both then and now if the taste of one has gone stale. Really brings out the differences.

I think I can quit smoking with this, downside is that you always have to carry around a gross handkerchief, at least in the beginning. Used to it enough now where I don't have to blow my nose every 5 minutes.

Is anyone else having trouble buying stuff from mrsnuff.com?

I order from them about 4-5 times a year but for some reason my VISA was getting rejected all last week. I looked up this problem and apparently VISA is blocking international ordering depending on the bank or credit union chain. I even tried my VISA gift card and that didn't work.

Did anyone else manage to take advantage of the no shipping fee promotion this christmas? I was hoping to restock but now I'm going be stuck digging into my reserves by the end of this month if I can't re-order. This is torture.

Paypal payment method when?

Here's a pic of my stash.
Heavy in English snuffs, my favourite is the rustica snuff from Peru.

I may purchase the Toque economy bag of rustica 'cause I don't want to use up this stuff with chacruna. If I'm not mistaken, it adds a certain spice to the aroma I'd love to see in my kitchen ;)

You will never go back. Other snuffs I take "recreationally" for the scent but for a bread and butter snuff nothing compares. Best SP is great, I never liked Seville, haven't had the other two you mention. I like all sorts of snuff but THIS snuff, I buy by the kilo.

I swear to god it will wake you out of drunkenness as well as a bump of coke.

It's strong, lasts long, smells good.

You can't see from the photo but it's 41 photo's white elephant.

I have noticed a bit of variance among batches. Some are "foul" and cheesy (though still smell great in nose), some have been much sweeter and more like pistachioes. But they're all strong as shit and great. My palms will sweat after a hit. I only need a pinch every few hours, as opposed to cigs where I would want one every thirty minutes more or less.
Angus Bonderdale - Tue, 16 Jan 2018 21:53:49 EST ID:yI1miAss No.173824 Ignore Report Quick Reply

Also I will say there are other good white snuffs. Dholakia does a good one, but I always found it too sandy and earthy in scent. 6 photo does one that lots of people love but I find it far too heavily scented.

Also all other snuffs make my nose run like diarrhea. Only white snuffs can I sniff and not have to blow brown crap within 30 seconds. It's the goddamn bee's knees. I'm jacked up right now that's why I'm righting so much. I never would have lit a cigarette had I known of white snuff. A tolerable but strong stimulant, everything you want from tobacco as a drug.

Another thing about white snuffs, though, is that they really are extraordinarily fine. They make a toast or a scotch look like a rappee. If you sniff wrong, you're just inhaling tobacco dust into your lungs, which hurts and is probably bad for you.

The trick is not to inhale at all but to make a "suppressed yawn" motion. You hold a large pinch (larger is better for less inhalation) right near your nose and do the same motion as suppressing a yawn in church. This creates just enough of a slight vacuum to pull the magic dust into your sinuses.

For non-white, I really like the heavy English snuffs. Sam Gawith is a particular favorite, especially their London Brown. I wish I could still get it in bulk. The Viking line is good too, especially Viking Dark, though it is quite harsh due to the heavy Virginia presence. For an oddball snuff, Wilsons of Sharrow Royal George is a great one. As for the famous Fribourg & Treyer, nothing they do is as special as the Santo Domingo. For SP, I really like J&H SP no1, but it is harder to find for me now. For menthol, Hedges L260 is simply without peer. I do not care for schmalzers. For a ghee snuff, Dholakia Black has been heavenly, but it is very uneven and I did not like the batch I got a couple of years ago so I haven't tried since. I'm not a big toast guy - the whites satisfy that craving for me. Though you can't go wrong with Sam G's Irish D, it is very sweet. Do not neglect the south african snuffs. NTSU and babaton blue are my favs of this class.

Just bought long-term supplies of my favourite tobacco snuffs after trying a few different kinds.

Wilsons of Sharrow Best SP 4x medium tins
McCrystal's Original and Genuine, 1x Large tin
2x 10g bottles of Rustica snuff, or Rape, from South America, scented with lovely chacruna. Absolutely love the stuff.

Have a bunch of Toque Rustica left... Acquired taste, taste acquired.
Still have to try to find an Indian White Snuff when money allows.

Have a sample of Oden Double Mint White Snus, want to see what the hype is about with all the "White" swedish Snus types. Have to buy some clean tobacco for all the deadly tastes for American cigarettes and Chew I'd like to try before I die.
