Pen Vape 2 and leaking... by Ian Tillingshaw - Tue, 19 Sep 2017 17:58:44 EST ID:E7m81+/E No.3675 Ignore Report Reply Quick Reply

So, I got hooked up with the same vape rig a buddy uses. Basically the Pen Vape 2 battery with compatible carts. Problem is, my first cart leaked. I think because I let it rattle around in my front pocket all night.

How do I care for and maintain these things? Real world suggestions are best as opposed to whatever shit the maker says.

Anyone else use this? I just replaced my Sig 75w with an RDA for the kbox with a mini tank on it. Doesn't feel like too much of a downgrade. Nice vapor quality with "I heart popcorn" eliquid. Anyone else use this flavor? It's pretty good with a tank. I can only imagine how good it would be on claptons.

So who wants to discuss juices you vape?

I've been mixing my own juice for over a year now, mostly VG and just simple stuff, around 9mg nicotine. I decided to treat myself today since after mt baker vapor sent me a german chocolate beefcake sample I loved it. I ordered the whole gwar line (bloodbath, jizmoglobin, spew, gwary4, and german chocolate beefcake).

Anyone have experience with those flavors? Anyone else mix their own using mt baker vapor? Any good flavors you'd recommend? I also got pumpkin pie which I'm kinda excited to try out.

Oh I've had the Treats juice before when it was being marketed hella hard on ejuices.com with all those gifs and shit that looked delicious. It's pretty good juice but didn't live up to the hype.

I've been vaping on the strawberry and blue raspberry Bazooka juices. The strawberry one is so good, went through the 200ml bottle in like 2 weeks.

I've got pic related in the mail and am keen to test it out. I also ordered some of the new Arizona Iced Tea ejuices from dripmore which I had to get because I <3 arizona.

i like 75 or 80vg juices in my high watt setup (sigelei j150 + cleito exo with 0.2 coils), 60 or 70vg juices in my lower watt setup (lavabox m + cleito with 0.4 coils), and 50/50 juices in my on the go device (aspire breeze).

i pretty much get all my juices from naked100, om vapors, and mitten vapors. really love the more citrus flavors from naked and stick with them in 6mg nic. really dig om vapors for their wta juices and usually get those in 9mg (though i use them much less than regular juices). really like mitten for their baja splash mountain dew flavor, and i usually get that in 12mg nic and fill up a big tank with that stuff for when i'm out all day. recently ordered two different pineapple-centric flavors from umbavape, and have high expectations.

I'd love to see what people here are using. Give the name of your current d/favorite evice and say what's unique about it.

Here's mine. It's an Innokin MVP4 with a Rashomon RDA in single-coil mode instead of the iSubVortex tank/atomizer it cam with. I'm really loving the flavor of the Rashomon. What's unique about the MVP4 is that it's an external charger as well as a vape, so it gives my phone some power in case of emergency. Pic related.

Heres some porn. From right to left we got a smoke t priv with a big baby beast. An infected box with a buddha mini, a broadside admiral with a troll v2 and a locally made series box with a troll v2. I like the t priv because its so convenient, and heavily fuels my laziness. The infected gives me a very tube-liej experiance only the batteries will last most of the day if im not chain vaping. The admiral uses 20700s so essentially it fixes all the issues 18650 tubes have by design (battery life, safe amp draw) and hits like a fucking icbm on guam. The series box chucks the fuckin tits, and the voltmeter is very convenient to know whats safe and when to change batteries. I love me some mech mods:p

was gonna post a pic but its not really unique looking, I've been using a H-priv 220w by smok for a year and a half, had a baby beast tank on it but quickly switched that out for a cleito 120. Dual 18650 (again, not really unique). I've never had a problem with this mod and its built like a tank, the cleito coils are a bit expensive but they last a pretty long time, going to probably grab an RDA for it in the next few weeks, might also try to pick up a nebula or something sometime as well so I can go back to having a backup mod. Had a subox (still do actually) but havent used it in a long time, mostly cause kanger cant make a product that is capable of using for a month without breaking down or causing issues.

So i was looking at grabbing a vape off the web recently, but it seems sites need quite a bit of personal info to check your age? This is in the US. Been a few years since i bought one and have been on cigs for a good while. Is this normal/expected? Havent kept up with any regulations and such. My actual age isnt an issue but all the verification that was supposedly needed had me put off the order. Was from VaporBeast btw; maybe it has to do with them being in Cali?

I don't feel like picking one up from a brick & mortar since they have limited selection etc. so if someone could reassure me that stuff like asking for a copy of photo id is necessary that'd be neat.

I just bought a starter kit from Vaporesso that came with a Veco One Plus tank on it, and I'm just not enjoying it at all. It seems like there's more of an issue than the tank not being great though, and I'm trying to figure out if I'm doing something wrong or if I got shitty coils.

They sent me two coil heads in the package, one cotton and one ceramic. I primed both by dropping some juice on the wicking material and letting it all absorb, then put the coil in, filled the tank, and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. I also start vaping at the low end of the recommended range and then build it up a bit.

The results just suck. The only flavor I get is a residual burnt cotton taste. I should clarify that it's not like taking a burnt or extremely dry hit that tastes like you ate a burnt cotton swab, it's just dry vapor that tastes like cotton. I've tried 3 or 4 different juices just to see if the one I was using suck, but it's all the same.

I started with the cotton coil head and feel like it got better after a break in period, but it still seemed off and there was very little flavor. I decided to try the ceramic one since a lot of people say Ceramic is better for flavor, but it's even worse. If I take a drag longer than ~2 seconds it tastes of burnt asshole. The device is also changing the resistance of the coil between .52 and .60 Ohms, which seems really fucking weird for a coil that came with the kit.

Should I just try another tank?

Try the other coil, and before hitting it, close off the airflow and take a good, long (10+ second) drag without touching the button. Then start over, at the low end and working to where you like it. If this doesnt work. Buy a new coil. If that doesnt work, get a new tank. I reccommend supertanks, cleitos and smok tanks, with no particular preference.

Curious, what juice are you using?

Can vouch for the rx300. I have the rx200 and it is the perfect mod. Does TC or wattage up to 250. Three batteries for fantastic battery life and the thing is a god damn tank. I've had mine for like 2 years and all the paint is chipped away, the corners around the battery compartment are banged up and bent, but it just WORKS. I drop it like every day and the thing just will not quit. 10/10 build quality, 10/10 features, 10/10 experience would recommend.

Did you just buy 100 empty cartridges? cause yeah, why? If anything you'd want to buy more than one battery which is what I end up doing.
I only buy pre filled cartridges. I got refill one time and it was a pain in the ass.

If you bought 100 of those filled, you're good to go for awhile I'd assume. You wouldn't be able to smoke it fast enough.

I back the MFLB 100 percent. Like Isabella said, there might be better ones out there but you can't beat it for the price, and for herb smoking. I also have a G Pen, which was also $100 and that shit is trash, it's just an electronic pipe.

I've had my MFLB for about 5 years now, and I bought it off a friend second hand, who I used to use it with. There is a slight learning curve if you're coming from smoking, and it's not the best for social gatherings, unless your friends know how to use it really. It definitely will get you stoned, and you won't waste weed.

Also, the battery charging can be annoying, but you can always buy the wall adapter later if you're using it frequently and at home.

Plus, you can save the vaped bud and cook with it (or just eat a tablespoon, and wash it down with something strong tasting).

Anyone know where to start with building coils?
The only things I have currently are two very small screwdrivers, some 24g Ni200, and the RDA in the picture.
I've seen people building coils before, and I've always been fascinated by it. I have cotton already as well.
Judging from what I've seen, the only things I'm missing are an ohms meter, and ceramic-tipped tweezers (or something similar)
Is there any way to build coils without those if you've never done it before?

Ni200 (nickel) is TC-only wire so you need a regulated TC mod, otherwise you run the risk of overheating and melting wire. Ceramic tweezers aren't really necessary for Ni200 for the same reason that the wire shouldn't be dry fired (melting again). Ni200 is also super low resistance wire and I figure using 24g will be a bitch to get to a reasonable resistance.

If you have a regulated mod (like one that'll do TC) then you most likely don't need need a separate meter since the mod will display the info on the screen. Nevertheless I think having a meter is a good idea.

I recommend starting out with Kanthal A-1, Nichrome 80, or SS316L wire; 26g is relatively flexible for function since you can wrap dual parallels if you want lower resistance or do a single coil for higher resistance, plain dual coils in between. Kanthal and Nichrome are usually only power mode but SS316L is compatible with both power and TC modes for the most part.

I started with 26g and 28g Kanthal A-1 in a RDA on a single-cell mechanical tube mod way back. I needed the meter since I had no other way to read resistance. I used organic cotton balls from a pharmacy. I already had scissors to cut the cotton, a precision screwdriver set for coil wraps of varying diameters, metal tweezers to pinch the coils while the coils were hot (without firing the mod simultaneously of course), and (clean) nail clippers to cut wire.

24, 26, 28ga Kanthal A1 is a good place to start. If you don't have an ohms reader use a regulated device (one with a chip that shows resistance) to check on, ceramic tweezers aren't necessary but sure make it a lot easier since you can fire and pinch coils at the same time, with metal you will cause a short doing this).

Make sure you know the diameter of what you will be winding it around (3mm screwdriver is a good starter diameter I feel, easy to wick and not too big or small coils). Also don't let the coils touch the posts, cap or anything metal so it doesn't cause a short. Youtube has some good tutorials.

You can use a regulated device to check your ohms on though, and metal tweezers to pinch but be CERTAIN not to fire the device while you have metal tweezers touching your coils as this will cause a short and you will have a bad time. I used to pulse mine then make sure my hand was far away from the button to not fire it and squeeze the coils when they were still warm when I didn't have ceramic tweezers. It's not ideal but it's possible, read more on it so you don't make a stupid avoidable mistake.

tldr: have a regulated device to check your ohms on, buy kanthal a1 (24,26,28 if you only can get one 26 is a good start), and id highly suggest spending the 10$ or less on decent ceramic tweezers as well as flush wire snips to clip your leads (I used nail clippers for a while then once I got snips I wondered why I didn't spend the extra 5$ or so for the snips). Also watch a lot of youtube tutorials.

OP here. Update: I gave up and bought a small kit with some 5-wrap Kanthal. Pic related. I have two running at 75.5w, down to 1.7 ohms. Smooth as can be for now. Any suggestions for where to go next? I have a Temple RDA as well, but the coils I bought are a bit small to fit in it, since the posts are far apart, and Kanthal doesn't like to bend easily without springing back.
