Are Clapton coils a meme? I've been working my way through a huge pile of pre-built staggered/fused/staircase coils that promise more vapour and better flavour, but I feel like they might kind of suck. The thinner gauge cores tend to bubble up after a while, dust settles in all the crevices and makes a mess, and they're impossible to clean. I'm treating them like disposables instead of pulling out the cooked cotton and heating/dunking them.

Are they actually good, and am I just being a retard, or are they genuinely a gimmick?

I think they are just people showing up their coil making skills. I just twist two strands of 26 gauge nichrome with a power drill and that works fine for me.

What's the advantage of making own coils?

Granted, you're right about the drawbacks and added ballaches, but for me the taste improvement is easily worth the trade-off. If you can't taste the difference over a standard wire coil then I'm sorry, but you're doing something wrong. Is you're wicking game on point and/or do you wrap with a jig? For me, I didn't start to enjoy rebuildables at all until someone introduced me to wicking with the 'Scottish Roll' (youtube it if you're not familiar), oh and using a jig *definitely* changed the whole game cos my coils would SUCK beforehand.

Re: the thinner-gauge wires, yeah they're definitely quicker to blacken, but my favourite wire at present is 4-strand Ni80 28g fused clapton (is it fused if they're not twisted or is that just 'parallel'?) with a 40gauge wrap. I usually rewick once a week or so, but I rarely change my coils if I can help it. I just dry burn them, then gently rinse with vodka/distilled water, dry burn again, repeat before I replace the wick until they're as good as new. I've probably not even twice had a coil that wasn't restorable after getting soo black/charred/bubbly from heavy use.

Buying prebuilts is your first mistake.Find a shop that sells spools of claptons or something, i use the demon killer fused clapton spool, it lasts months and is quality. If regulated, wrap it around a 2-4mm screwdriver around 4-6 times and enjoy. If unreg, you know the deal. Scottish roll as someone else said, even if youre using bacon or wicked or some similar product, fray that shit out, wrap it back up and stuff it in. In the end, yes, its a lot of work, but its kick fuckin ass, about once every 3 days-1 week you take that cotton out, burn it dry, run it under some water (while not firing it...) and youre good to go. Repeat this process for around a month, then replace coils when you replace cotton.

The Ello is pretty good. I got one free with a mod once, use it more than I thought. It's compatible with the SMOK TFv8 Baby Beast coils IIRC (as well as a shit-ton more). But my fave at present, for that atty, is the ELeaf HW2 coil. Good flavour, doesn't chug my juice too much, at least not compared to my Melo 300 or RTAs/RDAs.

Vapes that don't look like bomb detonation devices by Hannah Cottingdug - Fri, 28 Sep 2018 10:26:24 EST ID:YndG10Pb No.4144 Ignore Report Reply Quick Reply

I like vaping, but I don't like to look like I'm inhaling smoke out of a bomb detonator.

I've been using njoy king cigalikes, but they're kind of expensive ($6 for 1, which lasts for about 300 puffs).

Anyone have any recommendations for cigalikes that are similar to the njoy king?

Sub-Ohm devises and strong nic-salts by Hugh Bunbury - Mon, 16 Apr 2018 20:15:07 EST ID:aPQKCr/q No.3913 Ignore Report Reply Quick Reply

I've been vaping for about 6 months, and more recently, have been introduced to nic salts. Needless to say, this shit is potent. I started using this shit on a friend's device and recently started using 55 nic on my own sub-ohm device. Because the buzz is so strong, I haven't smoked cigarettes in a week since they don't do shit for me compared to this salt nic.

That being said, I do have some concerns. Every time me or a friend tries this shit, it makes us out of breath as if you were to run for a mile. Also, the buzz can be so strong that it causes some pretty noticable tremors right after hitting it (they go away pretty quickly). The highest wattage I've hit it is 290 watts, but that was only once. Normally, I hit it at 130 watts.

Any thoughts?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I understand the nic salts aren't stronger, they're just more popular at higher concentrations (plus they hit faster).

Been vaping 6mg at 0.13 ohms without any issues. Everything about salts seem superior (longer shelf life, faster hit, easier on the throat).
>>
Graham Crendleperk - Tue, 06 Nov 2018 13:54:52 EST ID:JK3XXGIW No.4242 Ignore Report Quick Reply

If the concentration is low enough then it doesn't matter I think. Sure they're absorbed a bit faster than traditionally distilled nicotine 'free base', but the latter absorbs faster than tobacco nicotine anyway. Don't like salts because there are a lot of variables including the absorption rate depending on hardware, and extra chemicals from the extraction process. Only solid benefit is the money you save on ejuice but eh there are ways around that with freebase nic too so.

Actually I was just thinking about this. It depends on your device. Most can do 1ohm or 1.5ohm. I'm guessing if you use very thin wire you can make a 1-1.5ohm coil and use your tank/rda at 5-15W etc & regulated mod vape nic salt juice. Am I wrong?

Hey I just started my own YouTube channel reviewing my new Arizer Air and my Ontario Cannabis Store orders.

I'm pretty unconventional in how I do it, I record in first person on my phone and try to do everything one-handed. I'm not looking for glory or popularity, I just want people to know that I am a believer in both Arizer & OCS. I believe in promoting good health and abstaining from smoking whenever possible, and of course smoking dank product that has been grown and cured properly.

I got a quick unboxing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3YsieyoW_4

I just got into vaping, for CBD, and I'm thinking about just relying on terpenes for flavoring. A drop per 5ml of juice actually does a pretty great job of flavoring the entire bottle, surprisingly.

It also seems that vaping is pretty awful for your teeth, which is again, of course, because of the flavors.

What’s a good brand of CBD oil for this purpose? I’ve been hesitant buying CBD oil online because I heard about one “all natural CBD oil” brand getting busted for containing a pretty dangerous Synthetic Cannabinoid, and have also heard that most brands are a total ripoff because they are dosed stupidly low for any real effect.

Yeah, that was Diamond CBD.
And yeah, most CBD products in general are pretty overpriced, which is why I make my own juice now, or 'blend it' with 0 nic juice, rather. I get my CBD isolate off The Hemp Barn. $15 per gram, which is a great price, and they've got a good reputation in the CBD "community," for lack of a better word.

With CBD isolate, you can't just add it to existing juice though, because CBD isolate won't dissolve in VG. You need to dissolve it in PG first with some heat and a lot of shaking. What I've been doing is dissolving half a gram in 5ml of PG, adding some 50/50 0 nic juice, and then a few drops of terpenes. Eventually I'll look into making my own flavor blends, but right now this is working well for me because I got the 50/50 0 nic juice for pretty cheap.

Ok so. Just 20 bucks gets me this big jug of 26 e-juice. Just a few hits on this thing knocks me on my fucking ass. Juuls when Ive tried them can get me, a several years smoker, nearly falling over. What is the comparison of the nicotine content of a single cigarette to e-juice? It feels like youre getting an insanely higher amount of nicotine for way cheaper.

In the UK
  • 20 cigs will cost you £8-12 (1-2 days supply)
  • 30g pack of tobacco £10-14 (5 day supply)
  • 50ml 6mg £12-20 (4-5 day supply)

If you smoke 20 cigs a day, anything else is cheaper. But there have been times where I've spent a lot more on vaping, than I would have on rolling tobacco.

Now that I make my own liquid, the whole conversation is over. I invest £150 and it lasts me upto a year or more, plus I will spend less next time on the re-up because there will be leftover nicotine, VG etc.

High taxation on tobacco products is predominantly a fad in post-industrial countries. It's ridiculous. I have a friend who travels to outside europe every month (airline steward) and he brings a carton for me every time for about £16 instead of ~£80-120 . I still vape most of the time though.
