Hey guys I've been vaping for about 2 years now. Right now I run a Cool Fire IV battery, Atlantis tank. I moved from my hometown and have been using a new vape store. They don't make home blends so I buy the pricier VG/PG blends.

They only carry .3 coils so that's what I've bought for the last month & a half. More recently though my throat has been so fucking dry! Worse than when you smoke cigarettes for a week and go back to vaping. It's either phlegm-y as fuck or bone dry to the point it hurts. Do you think this is allergies to the new area, the different ohm coil (I normally used 1.0) or the juice?

going from 1.0 to .3 can be a big difference in coil impedance. it could potentially affect your throat. it wouldn't take a month and a half to affect your throat though. you'd notice it sooner. it's probably juice or allergies, hard to say.

Ive recently began my journey into coil building as well as diy e juice and while ive already gotten some help here and done quite a bit of googling i wanted to make a thread to get some of my last somewhat specific questions out of the way, and i also really value you guys's experience and knowledge and would like to learn a bit more first hand from you instead of from some generic and somewhat dated posts and videos scattered around the web. Thank you in advance for any help, and i hope this helps others besided me too.

Some background info i use a releaux rx200 with both a smok tfv4 and tfv4 mini, and so far for disposables have stuck to the q4 (quad coil).
This leads me to something i wanted to contribute even though its not quite diy but more of home remedy. Theres lots of good and bad reviews about these tanks out there and from my rsearch ive found solutions to a lot of the negative experiences and thought i might be able to share some of what i learned. First off when assembling always do the atomizer first to the base and then the chimney ( some recomend the chimney first due to its few threads but do the base it'll prevent leaks better) second replace the o ring on the chimney (its a flat one included in the plastic bag, with one of the rounded ones for the drip tip.) its a little thicker which yes takes away a little thread but since ive done this i have had zero issue with leaks or spitting. Third it seemed a coincidence many if the negative reports were new users and many of which were using unicorn milk (i thought this was strange because i was using sugar drizzle another of their products) and upon research found cuttwood uses a sugar flavor enhancer thats prone to carmelization which combined with the complexness of the tfv4 coils (sextuple and even the quads) in such a small space is certainly interesting when ppl complain of coils burning out quick. High vg users even highly experienced ones also reported this user as well as less experienced jsers using cuttwood and i feel like the complexity of coil builds and the thickness of higher vg and the easy carmelization is the culprit to people having absurdly short coil life. I too had this issue, and i stopped putting sugar drizzle t…

I mixed up a little bottle of each (about 10ml) to get a taste for th flavors on their own (obv they should be paird for a good taste though) i thought lets make a little game. I have bannana foster, bavarian creme, gimmix fruit loops, cinnamon munch cereal, and cinamon bun. And then unflavord base. If anyone can think of an on the fly concoction using those and a limit of 15 ml total ill make it, just tell me how much to use and of what.

Ps sorry speeeding

I really can't say about Mt Baker flavours as I haven't used them myself, but generally with diy liquids the ratio of flavouring to base is usually around 10-20 %. Some flavourings (eg FlavourArt) are more concentrated than others, if you use a lot of these you might end up with a recipe with 4% total flavouring.

You also have to factor in that the mod and atomiser you use affect how you perceive flavours; if you use high temperatures / watts on your mod you are going to perceive the flavours more strongly, so you donät have to use that much flavouring.

If I were you, I'd steer clear of Mt Baker. Most of the diy community stick to a few reputable vendors, which are The Flavourers (Perfumers) Apprentice, Capella, Flavor West, FlavourArt and Inawera. The Flavourers Apprentice (or TFA) has the largest selection of individual flavours (to my knowledge) and they're not super concentrated so they're easier to mix, so I would start there with building an inventory of flavours you like.

It might be a good idea for you to check out http://e-liquid-recipes.com/
You might want to browse through the various recipes that people have contributed (especially the ones that have been rated high), pick a few (preferably with only 3-5 ingredients) that seem appealing to you, order the necessary flavours and mix them.

Hope I answered a few questions that you had. Happy mixing!

>if you use a lot of these you might end up with a recipe with 4% total flavouring.

That's true, but only if you're speaking about a 30ml bottle of juice. It's always important to note that lol.

Also, it depends on your ratio of VG/PG. Higher VG juices may utilize slightly higher concentrations of flavorings as VG doesn't carry flavor as well which leads to muted flavors, whereas the opposite is true of PG heavy juices.

So you'll sometimes see PG heavy juices with 3.5% flavoring, and VG heavy juices with 4.5% flavoring. However, in a 50/50 mix @ 30ml, you're absolutely correct. 4% is probably dead average.

I myself make my own juices, and since I make 70/30 vg/pg juice, I tend to use a slightly higher concentration of flavorings resulting in like 4.5% flavoring total. Shit's pretty great.

Holy god I was high. Disregard fucking *everything I wrote there*. Everything I wrote was dead fucking wrong. I'm gonna ask a mod to delete that shit, and I'll write what I actually meant, and try to not confuse fucking ML with % because I'm stupid high and unable to decipher the two lol...

So yeah... Let's try this shit again...

>if you use a lot of these you might end up with a recipe with 4% total flavouring.

It depends on your ratio of VG/PG. Higher VG juices may utilize higher concentrations of flavorings as VG doesn't carry flavor as well which leads to muted flavors, whereas the opposite is true of PG heavy juices.

So you'll sometimes see PG heavy juices with flavoring percents as low as 4% (because while there is way less you can taste it much easier). But with VG heavy juices you may see flavoring percents as high as 20% (because VG doesn't carry flavor very well, so more flavoring is required to create the same flavorful taste). In a 50/50 mix however, I would suppose it would be somewhere between those two, as an average or median of the sort.

I myself make my own juices, and since I make 70/30 VG/PG juice, I tend to use a slightly higher concentration of flavorings resulting in like 15% flavoring total. Shit's pretty great.

http://vapingcheap.com/ should help you find a good deal.

You're not really going to find something that can do weed and liquid. The only portable vapes I've used that do a good job with weed are designed specifically for that purpose.

Oil will work fine though. You can either use something like ejmix to dilute it down and use it in a normal tank, or you can buy an atomizer specifically designed for hash. The dual quartz atomizers work great for oil and can be ordered from China dirt cheap.

Let us know how much you're thinking about spending and we'll be able to give you more specific recommendations. These days you can get a decent setup for as low as fifty dollars.

I put some weed in my Kangertech under the drip tip.
The weed sticks to the juice on the walls of the tube and doesn't fall into the coil so no burning.
I'm assuming the heat from the existing vapour is enough to gently vape the weed because it tasted like vaped weed and I'm a little high.
not recommended but an interesting development

get a box mod so you can swap the juice tank to a herbal addon

Well, you basically can't just order one. Like they don't really sell them anywhere, so you have to have one custom-made by a glassblower, and the glassblower obviously has to have, and know how to work with, uranium glass. So they're pretty damn unique and hard to find. I mean in reality it's just a super fancy type of glass, but I think the slight radioactivity sort of prevents most places from selling them lol.

In case anyone doesn't know about Uranium Glass...

Uranium glass is fucking awesome stuff. It's basically glass that's had uranium dust added to the glass mix before melting (when it's made these days, it's usually added at like 2%, but back in the day they would add as much as 25% uranium lol), and upon melting, they usually mix it until the color is consistent and then they extrude the glass in thin rods so it can be re-melted and shaped...

The color of the glass will appear yellow to green (and clear or hazy) depending on the oxidation of the uranium (fun fact: yellowish green uranium glass that its hazy is often called "Vaseline Glass"). Also, it fluoresces in UV light (which is it's coolest property), and if the percentage of uranium is high enough it can register on a Geiger counter. But the stuff is generally harmless as far as radiation goes, as it's only "negligibly" radioactive.

I don't know... I think the stuff is fucking awesome, and I've always wanted *something* made of uranium glass, and now I'm getting something I'll actually use too. So hyped.

Never heard anyone call it that. But then again I've been out of the blown glass game for a minute haha. But then again, I'm sure people call it that, but I'd bet 100$ that's a modern name for it lol. Back in the day they called it "vaseline glass" (I guess when it's not in UV light it looks sort of waxy like someone took vaseline and smeared it over the glass), and now it's "Illuminati glass", but really it's uranium glass. Like, that's what it actually *is* rather than what it's called (think "Vicodin vs Hydrocodone lol).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uranium_glass

Shit's super cool though isn't it? I can't wait to get my tip. I'm gonna have to get a new pair of shade lest the fucking coolness blind me. Lol. It's gonna look pretty damn close to my pic, but made completely with UV glass instead of just green glass, and without the black highlights.

Amphetamine E-Cig Solution by Molly Drorringshaw - Wed, 22 Jun 2016 21:51:07 EST ID:ZRCF7/X7 No.2668 Ignore Report Reply Quick Reply

I've been looking into creating an e-cig solution containing amphetamines (speed paste).

It's more a "lets see what happens" than any sort of practical problem I'm trying to solve. I don't use heavily, and it would surely be way more effective to just parachute the speed rather than vape it.

I have a friend who is really into vaping who would loan me a box, so I would just need to tinker with the tank probably. I really don't know anything about vaping.

I asked the stimulants board, but I figure you guys have a better knowledge of the actual mechanics of what I need to do. I know not one shit about vaping, so I'm not sure what the best coil setup would be, or temperature settings, etc.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Fanny Granddale - Thu, 23 Jun 2016 21:31:09 EST ID:WMl2mps6 No.2674 Ignore Report Quick Reply
Get some PG and VG and start by seeing which one its more soluble in. If I had to take a guess I'd say PG. Once you determine the solubility you can do the math to find out how much you need to mix together to reach your desired concentration. It will probably be very harsh with straight PG, so make sure to add some VG into the mix.

I don't see any reason you'd need a special coil setup.

I'd start low with the temp/power and work your way up until you find the sweet spot. Like around 180C or 20W then go up from there.

So a buddy of mine gave me his tuglyfe case and now I'm in need of a beginners mechanical guide. I understand the parts that are needed but that's where my knowledge ends. What components are worth the salt? What are some good resources for the advanced vaper taking that first foray from regulated?

The most important part is having an accurate ohmmeter and an understanding of Ohm's law. Look up what amperage your battery is rated for, check the resistance of your coil, then do the math to make sure your amperage is under what the battery is rated for.

Over discharging your battery is also bad. When you notice a drop in vapor production switch batteries and check the voltage of the old battery. I don't like to go lower than 3.4 volts, and around 3.2 should be the absolute lowest you go. Eventually you'll get a feel for when you need to change the battery.

Finally use quality batteries. Personally I only use LG or Samsung batteries. Efest is ok in a pinch, but I wouldn't use them for too long. The Sony VTC4 and 5's used to be the shit, but most of the VTCs for sale nowadays are fake, or too old to be safely used. After six to eight months you should buy new batteries for your mech and use the old ones in regulated mods.

I think OP meant like literally building the mod, something I cannot contribute too sadly. God speed OP.
