Odd
That's indeed 25A at the atty but, assuming 90% efficiency and both batteries at 2.5V cutoff or 5V in series, the current on the batteries is 18A and, with both batteries at nominal voltage, the current is 12A.

I never smoked before in my life, but for some reason, my mind cannot seem to grasp the idea of an electronic cigarette thinking that in some way it's lesser than a regular cigarette and almost as low as a candy cigarette.

For someone who has never smoked before. Do you recommend them to start vaping?

It's easier to disassociate vaping with smoking as a whole when you get something like pic related vs your blu cigalike. I was already off the cigs before I started vaping and I'd say sure, go for it. I can say with confidence that there's far less bad shit in e juice vs tobacco if any at all.

no. unless you really feel like it. I went against all advice when I started smoking--or doing anything else, for that matter--so I get it when people do it, anyway. but, if you're just asking if you should, the answer is no. that's going to be the answer to this kind of question, no matter what board you're on.

Do you know why I vape? Because I couldn't quit nicotine. With all of my willpower, I couldn't fucking quit.

It's insidious, and it will take over your mind.

Just do what >>1607 says and get nicotine free liquids. If you're really itching to blow clouds or something.

You've been warned.

In short, no. I personally smoked cigarettes for about a year or so socially then started buying my own. Slowly I started getting further into cigarettes although I never reached addiction. One day I was about to buy another pack when I saw a shitty little ecig like Blu but it was called Square.
I haven't had a cigarette since and that was about 3 years ago BUT I became addicted to nicotine through my mod. I say addicted to ecig > cigarettes so I feel like it did save me in that aspect, but now I'm more addicted to nicotine than ever.

Do you mind becoming a small time addict over a long period of time? Cause that's basically what you sign up for.
On the plus side, vaping is fucking glorious, I love doing it.

Yea, be wary of this. Vaping will get you FAR more addicted than smoking ever could. It's just so easy to take another hit. You don't have to go outside, there's no bad smell, and it never goes out.
I haven't smoked in almost a year thanks to my vape, but I'm sure as hell 10x more addicted than I ever was as a smoker. The one time I DID relapse and go back to cigarettes, I smoked twice as much as I ever did before because I was so used to having my nicotine fix whenever I wanted it with my vape.

Hey /vape/. I picked up vaping about a month ago and have been using Hangsen liquids which I'll have to admit I don't find very tasty at all, I think part of the reason is that I'm using 24mg (I'll switch to 12mg next time if it makes it much more enjoyable).

I wondered if anybody could recommend me high quality juice brands that aren't too expensive, I'm looking for something I can buy in the 30-50ml range so I can keep it going for a while.

So far I've tried the Hangsen Watermelon, Amaretto and Mango flavours but I've not found any to have that great of a flavour despite me thoroughly enjoying their physical counterparts.

Luckily I live close by to a nice vapeshop and know the guy who runs it so I get to have my juice mixed in front of me/get good advice on what to get. One kick ass flavor OP is called Cereal Killer. It tastes like Crunchberries.

Just stay the fuck away from vapure.com. Those fucks sold me a good, labeled bottle of the stuff then when I ordered another batch they sent some shit they made in a sink. Cheap ass bottle with magic marker as a label, flavor was more akin to butterscotch and the juice was a runny mess. I pointed all this out to them and they said it was just a new batch that needed to steep, never mind the difference in product/labeling.

I don't know what people mean when they say pot oil. I'm assuming straight hash oil, for that, you'd be better off with a concentrate pen. If I were you I'd just get a rig with a banger.

If you really want to do it and do it right you'll need a mod with decent power 50+ as well as a rebuildable atomizer (the head thing you're talking about, even though you mean a tank).

You basically build your own coil with kanthal wire, and then you put some organic or japanese cotton through it, then saturate your cotton wick with e-juice (vegetable glycerin will work) and then drip hash oil onto the coil. You probably don't care about vaping nicotine, so you can either spend 50-100 USD on a decent box mod (IPV4S) and a decent RDA (Mutation x V4) which will be wasted potential, or you can buy a mini rig, torch, and quartz banger. Or you just get a g-pen made for hash oil, wax, budder, or whatever the fuck concentrate pot oil is.

For more general vape help, watch pbusardo, hankvapes, and riptrippers. If you want to learn, they have the info, riptrippers is a weirdo though.

also looked up your mod, it gives you 60 watts for a similar price of the IPV4S which is 120 watts. So really, if you want something smaller and since you don't seem to care about vaping nicotine concentrates that vtc mini will work for what you want to accomplish. Maybe they make hash oil tank heads, just do some research.

Pot oil means concentrates. Sticky stuff, so the cotton wick works against you. What you want to do is make a Clapton coil and small inner diameter to get surface area. Warm up the coil a little bit, enough to melt off some concentrate into it without it being overly saturated. All the little channels in the coil hold the oil well and you can get really nice hits off it. Dry burning to clean and you're good to go. Hash oil does not like to mix with PG or VG very much, and the oils/terpenes are sticky it doesn't melt into it awfully well. This is why stuff like EJMix/Puff Magic and other products are popular, they're a blend of PEG's and sometimes a bit of PG in them as well that do saturate with hash oil well and allows for use in tanks/dripping, but most people say it has a distinct taste to it. Those Gpens aren't very good either. Clapton coil works fine if you want to skip those products. Plus you can set watts to do low-temp hits or high temp. You could do dual coils and it would fuck you up.

Okay, you're probably getting this a lot, but here is another vaping newfag with a question.

I wanted to get a vaporizer for dry herbs for a while now. But as I am a heavy nicotine smoker, It would be really nice to be able to vape e-liquid too.
I really like the modular design of power source + atomizer, but apparently there are no dry herb-atomizers that really vape the material instead of combusting it.

I'm interested in the V2 series, but they use non-standard atomizers (magnetic cartridges) and I'm not sure if they are any good.
www.v2.com

There is also the Haze Dual V3, which seems to be very good for herbs and it supports e-liquid but all the reviews focus on the herb-part and also it's quite expensive for my taste.
http://www.hazevaporizers.com/

Do you have any experience with multi-purpose vaporizers, and know any good models?

I would recommend just getting a decent pen vape and refillable cart, if you want to start basic. Don't buy juice from any c-store retail shop, look for a specialty vape shop, as they will have a wider selection of juices, higher quality flavors, and options on nicotine strength and VG-to-PG ratios.

But, after a while, you'll probably want to just upgrade to a nice mech or box mod, for the true cloud-chaser experience.

hey /vape/, a bit of backstory before I ask my question-

Used to be a smoker for around 3 years, smoking bout a pack, pack and a half a day before I got really, really fucking sick early this september. Burning throat, nausea, fatigue, chills, high temperature, the fucking works. Kept smoking through the first 1-2 weeks of my sickness since I needed the nic, but not as much (like a third of a pack a day).

Realized that I couldn't keep going on like this, so I ordered a vape (evic-vt) and some juice and quit smoking. Was successful, it's been a month and a half now and I'm still vaping along instead of smoking. Problem is, my sore throat has never gone away despite all of this, so I've had it for around 2 months now. Went to the doctor and they told me I have acid reflux and they don't know what's causing it.

It doesn't seem to be affected too much by my vape (I tried not vaping for a day or two and I'd still get the same amount of reflux) but I'm still trying to be safe. Certain flavors of vape make my throat flare up and hurt even more.

Does vaping cause or make worse reflux for any of you guys? If so, what did you do? I find that when I vape mint or menthol flavors with lower nic and around 50/50 pg/vg it feels a lot better than anything flavored or with higher vg or pg.

> I did notice that it makes my reflux flare up when I use juices with a fair amount of pg.
>My advice would be to go for more subtle flavors and try to get organic/max vg juices

Yeah, that's what I've been trying to do. I've been trying out a lot of flavors to see what sets me off and what doesn't and it seems like anything fruity or sweet makes it really bad, while the subtle flavors don't. Been mostly sticking to mint/menthol for this reason.

Is there a reason that large amounts of pg do this? A lot of people seem to say lots of pg messes them up. For some reason too much vg makes my throat hurt too, I tried an 80/20 that was pretty subtle and it seemed to make it hurt worse than a 50/50 I was vaping on earlier. Maybe it was just something else in the juice and not the pg itself. Haven't tried high pg either but the juice I'm at right now is 70/30 and it seems to be fine.

>is there anything about your daily life that might cause intense heartburn?

Nope, nothing that I can think of. I drink rarely and I'm not a big drinker when I actually do, I work out 6 times a week and try to generally eat right and live a healthy lifestyle. Only "bad" thing I used to do was smoke half a pack a day but I didn't have acid reflux back then. And surprisingly, my acid reflux isn't of the heartburn variety (which is why it took me so long to identify it as and go get it diagnosed as acid reflux.) I get stomach acid backed up to my throat causing it to get really sore and painful. Literally feels like I've had strep throat for 2 months, it's really miserable.

OP back here again after a month. Thread's dead but I thought I might post in here either way in case someone had the same problem and needed the solution in the future if they searched for it.

My acid reflux hasn't gone away at all, hasn't really gotten any better or worse but I think the problem wasn't with the pg/vg at all but with airflow amount. The ego tank I was vaping out of before has piss poor airflow and I felt like I would bust a lung whenever I went to take a hit from how hard I had to suck, and noticed that almost always afterwards I'd get a lot of burping, really bad reflux, and my throat would burn and feel like it was on fire. After I tried some of my friend's setups on tanks or drippers with bigger airholes, I realized that I didn't get the burning sensation or the same level of acid flare-up when I hit them, so I put 2+2 together and went to a store and bought the dripper with the largest amount of airflow I could find and put it on my evic-vt tank. My acid reflux is still there as I said before, and still hurts more or less the whole day through, but at least now it's not as pronounced as it is before. The hits I'm taking from the dripper are warmer than the ones from the tank but because of the airflow I don't feel them in my throat at all and the subsequent acid reflux is no where near as bad as before. Now I can actually vape in peace and enjoy it. Cheers /vape/!

I think this is it. I haven't used the tank you're talking about, but some tanks are made/meant to be used in an atomizer-to-mouth-to-lung fashion, not straight lung inhale like drippers. If you really wanted to see if it's flavorings I guess you could buy some nicotine extract and VG and dilute it to your nic level. I think some places even let you purchase 3/6/12mg nic base so you could just drip that and eliminate everything but VG and nicotine. Have you tried taking antacids?

Maybe I'll try that next time I go pick up juice, I've seen a store in my area that sells 3mg 100% VG for 100ml/10$. I've also noticed that 3mg juices seem to make it flare up even less compared to the 6mg juice I'm currently dripping, so I might switch to that as well.

I'm currently on 40mg of pantoprozole a day, and take tums when it gets especially bad. It more or less helps but doesn't make the feeling go away completely.

Hey /vape/ totally new to vaping, I had been using my friends every time we hung out for about a month so I decided I liked it enough to warrant getting my own.

I got the subox mini starter kit, and it worked wonders for the first week. I used the .5 or .6 ohm rda wit h a max VG juice and the flavor (thai tea 6mg) was phenomenal. Was vaping at 35 volts and getting beautiful taste and gigantic clouds.

I went on vacation and brought my vape, but forgot to bring my bottle of juice. Went to a store and the only flavor I wanted that they had was 12mg but I figured fuck it, I can handle the nicotine.

That fill up though, tasted like horse shit. so burnt, metallic acidic and disgusting.
I waited till I got back home, dumped all that juice out, and took a look at the rda. the cotton was totally black.
So I took the other RDA that it came with, dripped it nice in both the feeding holes and the top of it with my thai tea which didnt fail me, and installed it. the vape is reading this rda as a 1.6-1.7 ohm. I tried it at 35 volts, and that horrid burnt taste is still there. Ive been trying to break it in, trying all different volt settings from 10 volts and up, and all its doing is diminishing the burnt flavor, yet it still persists.

I got the RDA plus it also came with, looked up a tutorial online on how to thread the cotton through the coil it already has preinstalled in it, saturated all the cotton inside with juice, primed it, put it in a filled tank, and also got that burnt taste.

Im coming to you guys because I already asked my buddy and through trial and error we still havent gotten it to work. still that burnt taste persists.

is there something Im doing wrong here?

You seem to have your terms confused. RDA means rebuildable dripping atomizer, which the subtank is not (its a tank). The term for the rebuildable section on yours is RBA (rebuildable atomizer). RBA only applies to the atomizers that allow you to replace the coil and cotton. The ones that come prebuilt/wicked are just atomizers.

The subox comes with a generic tank and atomizer plus an RBA, the RBA is intended to be used with a tank an RDA does not use a tank.

I'm a little confused what exactly your having problems with so no comment on that.

On an entirely different topic: If you don't like using a tank or want to try using an RDA I recommend the Tebeco Velocity Clone, I've been using it with my subox and it's way better then using a tank.

Im trying to piece together your problem through the mixed up words.

From what I gather, you might have a short. Take everything apart until you just have the coil screwed onto the box. Remove all the cotton and fire it. If the coil is glowing evenly then it should be fine, if just one part is glowing really fast then its a short. I don't know if you replaced coils or not, but you might have shorted it out trying to rewick it. You might need some new coils. If its glowing fine, try rewicking it carefully. Look up some youtube videos for your specific tank and do that.

Since you're using a different juice than normal, you might not like the taste. Burning the coil without juice or cotton is called dry burning, and if it glows evenly then you're essentially cleaning it. Glow it to burn off any gunk, wash it under water to remove the burnt gunk ash shit, then glow it again to dry it out.

If everythings working properly, its probably just the juice you dislike.

Some juices are pretty hard on coils but sounds like you didn't vape any of it? A few drags wouldn't gunk up a coil that fast... Did you manage to get a look at the cotton before the juice? Was it cleaner?

If you burned the wick on the coil, no amount of changing juice and lowering the wattage will get rid of the burned taste. It'll always be there on the coil so you will need to install a new atomizer. Not sure why it happened with that specific juice /if/ that's what happened.

The RDA deck is different than the coils so you will have to watch youtube videos on how to build and wick it, and you may have to adjust watts lower at first and go up to get a feel for the coil's ohm reading. Take out the cotton, dry burn the coil, wash it out, and try again. Except instead of filling the tank up, saturate the wick and put the tank together and test it out like that. It'll feed off the wick and you can see if your wicking is proper before filling it up all the way.

if you want something small and boxy. I will reccomend the Evic vtc mini or the Ipv d3. But those require batteries and are not kits. If you want something with built in battery and a kit. Go for the the smok micro tc kit or tesla nano 100 tc.

Just bought my first vape, could anybody help me out? by Kara !!Q6ntHZdl - Fri, 11 Dec 2015 08:24:01 EST ID:CouuhBOP No.1372 Ignore Report Reply Quick Reply

I've been smoking more and more cigarettes lately with no end in sight as I am very busy and stressed. I decided I should get a vape as I don't wish to ruin my throat/lungs any more.

I did a bit of research and tried to find myself a reliable vape set up that I wouldn't need to replace. I don't like to cheap out on things when it means I'll end up having to throw them away to replace later on.

I decided to get myself an Innokin MVP3.0 Pro and a Kangertech Subtank Mini.

I still have no idea how I should be calibrating this for first use; would somebody be able to tell me how I should go about setting this up? The Subtank Mini comes with two different coils, which should I be using? (what's the difference?)

Based upon which coil you believe I should be using, what amount of watts should I be using on the MVP3.0?

Aside from finding out which gear was worth my investment I know nothing, it'll be coming in the post in a few hours and I'll be wanting to set it up right away so any information you can give me would be highly appreciated.

Pic related; my first set up.

Thanks /vape/.

It's a bad idea not because it's too much nicotine, but because nicotine makes juice more harsh. You must have a throat made of solid fucking steel to be able to enjoy 24mg at subohm

this, it's just way too fuckin strong. I was using 24mg on a protank2, and a vivi nova mini. you gotta understand that 24mg was popular a long time ago because we were using shitty setups that didn't produce much vapor... I remember the girl at the shop getting me when I got my first dripper to drop to 12 or 6 because drippers/non CE4/Vivi Nova Mini/PT2 weren't as "efficient" as drippers or tanks. You didn't start vaping to stop smoking so you don't have that hand-to-mouth oral fixation you've been doing for X years. Nicotine is a part of why ecigs are effective for smoking cessation, but they're also giving you the oral fixation thing. Personally I think that a proper ecig setup will help way more people than other traditional smoking cessation products like gum or patches... they're missing something. Well, they're missing a lot, since ecig juice/cessation products also don't have the MAOI from combusting tobacco or all the other chemicals you get used to and crave. Plus you exhale more than once with a cigarette so people feel "off". This is stuff I've experienced or heard from other people who have smoked longer than I've been alive and stopped with ecigs. And yeah nicotine will give you throat hit too, on a good setup you'll definitely feel the kick there. I saw somebody today at the shop using 12mg in a Goblin RTA and the shop dude and myself were a bit surprised cause most people with rebuildable stuff with generally stick to 3 or 6mg.

re: the formaldehyde thing, IIRC that test was fucking stupid as fuck. They used a cheap shit atomizer and gave it way more voltage than anybody would use, and for longer than anybody would use it. 5 volts on a shitty tank for 10 seconds, you'd get the dry hit so fast you would never make it a full 10 seconds inhaling. PS formaldehyde is present in basically all buildings... and cars... and furniture...

>In new buildings or buildings which have been recently refurbished, formaldehyde levels from furniture and furnishings may be high enough to cause signs of irritation. Good ventilation will ensure that formaldehyde fumes remain at a level at which no symptoms occur. In some …

I didn't want to make my own thread, so I thought I'd co-opt this thread a bit.

So, I recently got a 100w iStick. Also, Arctic tank, comes packaged with the .5 and .2 ohm coils. Right now I've got the .5 coil in, going at 40w, 4.5 volts. While the juice tastes great and I am satisfied with my cloud, is this an optimal setting? I understand what batteries I'm using make a difference, but I'm not totally straight on the specifics.

I read up about such things online, but I figured I'd ask here as well.

Thanks for all the replies. Have been using this for two weeks now and haven't touched a cig. I think I'll cut down to 12mg next time I get more juices as it can be a bit harsh.

Hope you all had a nice Christmas, have a great day.

Optimal is what tastes good to you, but if you're trying to preserve your coil and not burn it out its better to run the coil at 3.7-4.2 volts.

I'm sure y'all have these questions constantly, both irl and on here, so I apologize. I'm just a little overwhelmed by everything out there. I'd really like to try quitting smoking, I know how bad it is for me but I also know myself and quitting aint gonna happen. I'd still be slamming dope if it weren't for the methadone, so I figure in the aims of harm reduction I outta get a vape while I'm at it. I've read a couple "beginner's" guide type stuff but I still kinda don't know what to get. Any recommendations?

I'd like to spend less than 100 dollars. Maybe around 50-75, altho I'd rather go ahead and spend the money if it means it'll last rather than save money on something that's poorly constructed

I'm gonna tell you exactly what you want. Something at a good price, has a nice draw that's similar to a cigarette, and is pocketable.
The Endura kit by Innokin. Under 50$

istick 50w and a kanger subtank. It's cheap, the perfect starter setup and I'm still using it every day a year later. It's all you'll ever need unless you want to start dripping. Endless battery life, 50w of power, compact and ridiculously easy to use. Can't beat it.
