being smart doesn't correlate with being large. Humans just hunted most big things to extinction in the last 20,000 years https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holocene_extinction#Megafaunal_extinction.

Dwarfs could have saved the dinosaurs with their superior knowledge of geology I think is the most important takeaway from this thread. Everyone already knew that 99% of all elf fetishists are unrepentant chauvinists, probably because they spend all their time in the woods totally cut off from real civilization. Sad, really.

Update released! Nilf neatly nerfed. Plus a bunch of other crap like RnR down to 2 from 3, which is much-needed.

https://www.playgwent.com/en/news

Mill all copies of the cards you have that were nerfed to receive full value for them. (If you want to buy them later, you still can.) Now I have around 2500 scraps.

If you haven't tried this game, I'd give it a shot. Far more interesting than Hearthstone or any other card game online. The tactics are much more interesting ... when to pass, when not to pass. Even if you've never played The Witcher. Good shit.

Also, hey Kirt, 420chan's Search function is dog doodie. If I type "Gwent" into the search this thread (called GWENT) does not show up...

So I'm attempting to play this game with some friends over the internet...

Is their a way to make it so they can see my screen immediately w/o having to stream the game on a public platform? Like a hidden setting I don't know about or a way to quickly stream the game to the other 6 players?

In prey, I didn't notice any changes in the AI's behavior beyond the damage they take.
Also, I think mimics click when your nearby in easy mode.

The changes I noticed in aliensolation was that the Alien required more flamethrower ammo to drive off, had a shorter distance from the player before they'd automatically turn around (though it still varied by level), had a lower "aggression" meter where the alien would stay out of ceiling vents and just keep patrolling the floor, was more likely to use tactics such as moving through floor/wall vents or leave a room, then charge back in, and learned to overcame/learned to ignore tactics such as throwing flares sooner.

SS13 Colonial Marines is amazing. I've seen the Marines win exactly
ONCE, so it's possible, but with an engine designed for stupidity and a canon designed for apocalyptic loss, it requires the humans to demonstrate teamwork and competence, and the xenomorphs to be complete chucklefucks.
The colony isn't exactly a deathtrap, just overrun and left wide open, with caves nearby that make it easy for bugs to stage raids, but the Sulaco is fucked if the bugs get loose by hitching a ride on the shuttle. A couple chestbursters can bring the whole ship down if they aren't greased right away, the ship's crawlspaces and access tunnels are enough to start a decent nest.
You do need a masochistic streak to play Marine, you are probably going to lose hardcore no matter how good a player you become.

One of the funny things about SS:13 is that you RP the marines as never having seen Xenomorphs before, so Command up on the Sulaco get a lot of reports of "red dogs" and "robot lizard things" "throwing crabs at people".

>Atmosphere
Well most all decent games will develop their own atmosphere from their art direction and setting. The wisps of fog or lens flare adds very little.

And to the rest of your points,

>hurr too much work.
>consumers and retarded kids will say the game is too hard.

Well, masterpieces aren't just thrown together with the hope it comes out awesome. They are built over years of time by people who aren't afraid to work hard. But annual titles of the same crap just with slightly better graphics are what matters to kids with mommies money at game stop. Lil Billy asshole needs to be top of his list and conquer everything in the game without thinking beyond RT or LT.

Video games are dead and shit like Crysis and CoD killed it. Significantly less effort or time gets put into the story, gameplay, or setting. The "who what when where why" matters no more. All that you can get is shitty indie cash grabs or big gun toting Amerifat superheros blowing shit up and gerkin jerkin to gore and particle effects. AAA companies are just in it for the money. Childish gamers are cancer. Modern video games suck as a whole. And no matter how you split it, 4k is a stupid fucking resolution and is a marketing fad just like retina displays.

I find your name pretty ironic, since Daggerfall was randomly generated homogeneity, while Morrowind has a deserved cult following precisely because of the 90% of content (such as M'Aiq the Liar) that most people never encountered.

Yeah, I get it. I only played a bit of it and immediately didn't think that this would be worth $40, but they still got my hard earned freedom bucks. $20 would have been an OK price, so I can't really recommend anybody buying Morrowind at full price. Especially after Zenimax stated that DLC will be included in subs (Morrowind isn't) and considering that it doesn't look like it adds nearly as much content as some of the other MMO Expansions.

Still, if you're interested in the base game with the other expansions except Morrowind, go for it. Game is the shit.

graphically speaking the Lego games are pretty simple so they should run well on whichever you choose, the only one that might have trouble on an older PC would be the Lego super Heroes ones because it has to render an open world
But if you're strictly speaking consoles you should be fine whichever you choose, they're cross platform and I'm like 80% sure there's no platform exclusive content for any of them.

I've decided the Nightmare enemy in this game is fucking retarded. On normal difficulty you can just walk up and unload a shotgun clip into it's face if you have the security weapon mods and have an upgraded shotgun. It dies in one clip.

On nightmare difficulty the Nightmare one shots you and would be such a massive waste of resources to kill its pointless. So instead you just have to run to a different zone, which it won't follow you to, and stand there for three minutes. A trick I've found that's kinda spoilery is the nightmare spawns based on how many typhon neuromods you use. So now I just save all my neuromods until I'm about to transition to a new zone, install all the mods I want, wait ten seconds for the nightmare to appear, then transition to the new zone. zzzz

I think it will get a sequel, since the sales were high and the reaction to it was very good.
They managed to combine Dishonored art with System Shock and Half Life, and they got a good effort by the way.
Arkane is very good at being creative at same time making fantasting gameplay with a nice unlimited replayable value.

The one big technical mistake was to choose id Tech over Unreal Engine 4 for Dishonored 2, since they made the 1st one with UE3.

For me it was like a mash-up of all the classy sneaky shooters. You know- System Shock, Bioshock, Deus Ex, Half-Life, Portal, Alien: Isolation, and Dead Space.

In an interview, the creators admitted to playing a lot of Aliensolation while they were making it. There's a few injokes, like Danielle Sho/ Shodan (voiced by fucking Mae Whitman from Scott Pilgrim). There's a few big names in the VA department, mostly James Hong, but Walton Goggins and Benedict Wong show up, too.

A surprising amount of humour in the Easter eggs. The Reployer cracks me up. And the one room covered in post-it notes saying "not a mimic". And the mimic half jammed down the toilet with a wrench. And your secretary Jason's codeword is OMG!hotboss.
And the crew playing Dungeons & Dragons. CAPTAIN STABFELLOW! Which is really kind of meta, because the game was designed as a "dungeon in space".

Nice touches, like the oldest parts of the station being Russian brutalist and American retro-futuristic, and the newer parts corporate fascist Art-Deco. With the music and the beautiful environments, and the spaceflight being a genuine pleasure, at times it is the most chill horror game ever, which is a strange feel.

Lol, fucking Markiplier. He takes one look at the male PC, and he's "Hey, that guy totally looks like me." And of course Dark Syde Phil is OH WE GOT A CHOICE OF ASIAN OR ASIAN! Wow, DSP took about 80 episodes to finish it on Normal.

Those fucking mimics. One turns into a chair right in front of both Markiplier AND Pewdiepie, and they're like I SAW THAT! OOH I WONDER WHERE THE ALIEN COULD BE? COULD IT BE THIS CHAIR RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CORRIDOR? SURELY THAT WOULD BE TOO OBVIOUS!

Poor Wendaiko was running around beating everything with her wrench, crying "I was watching a playthrough and I was wondering why they were beating everything with a wrench and now I know!" Lol, the devs really like to fuck with the player by putting two of the same thing together. I've never seen anything that can make you so paranoid about twos of things. How do you think gaming will be like in the really far future (like 2070 or something)? Is VR going to be super mainstream or is it going to remain a thing for enthusiasts? Are controllers and buttons going to be popular forever? Are we going to play co-op games with our AI waifus/husbandos? What are your predictions?

There's a horizon where we can't even make assumptions about our priorities that seem axiomatic today.
There are things technology limits us from doing today, but the fact that we want to do those things are a product of society, which evolves just as much.

We can't predict whether we'll still want to do those things in 50+ years.
50 years ago, they thought men would work 3-10 hour workweeks while their wives were at home, cleaning the water-proof living room with a hose or pressing the button that made her husband's meal.
We have the technology for this to be possible, but such a model is neither desirable as society's goals have changed, nor attainable due to the structure of society.

Any predictions we have are going to be quaint retro-future shit by the time the future gets here.
How music will be in the far-off year of 2000 related.

I honestly think the current trend will continue for a long time to come.
VR won't be the norm for most, it'll have its place though like the handheld.

Biggest change we may see is the triangle of TV/PC/Console will get shaken up and the lines between them will blur.

Also we'll discover that a council of literal supervillians (costumes and everything) is in charge of the big shitty publishers (EA, Ubisoft, Konami, etc.)

In 2070 a functioning Super Nintendo cartridge will be worth more than a human life.

To me is this.

People would be able to indulge in straight violent fantasies and will be more diverse than a porn search engine with thousands of categories. The .gif misses the part where the fat man is a woman beater in the videogame, holding his belt and watching a woman lying underground.

I never got a VR headset but now that I'm thinking about it a fatso can obtain one and play Rapelay... So the elements are here...

I have been thinking about buying a new videocard lately. I have a few questions regarding graphics cards:
Should I buy a pascal videocard now or should I wait for vega?
Are videocards going to get cheaper onde vega gets released?
Should I wait even longer to get a navi/volta videocard?
Which is the best strategy: buying mid-end cards on a more frequent basis or buying top-notch cards very rarely?

I would say buy as high as you can afford, you'll be constantly struggling to keep up with new games if you buy a graphics card that is too outdated. Speaking from experience. I think anything from lets use Nvidia for example: Geforce 960-980, or just wait till the price drops to your liking on the 10 series. It really just comes down to how much you're willing to spend at that point.

I don't know, isn't vega being released in just a few months? I kind of need an enthusiast card right now because I want to run games at 5760 x 1080, and it seems like anything below a 1070 isn't going to get the job done.

I guess I'm willing to spend around 300 donald$, but I don't think that the 300 donald$ cards are as fast as I need. Is it a bad idea to buy used?

If you're pushing multiple monitors or 4K, sure. I think they just announced July as the Vega release date. Might have to deal with limited supplies and driver issues for a few more months after that though.

A 1060 is around or just below 300 but as you said you don't think it'll be good enough. So that pretty much makes waiting for the 1070 price to drop your only option.

certainly not used, like off some random dude on ebay, but refurbished from proper stores like newegg, still a gamble but at least theres a return policy and it has been supposedly tested to work. sometimes freak manufacturing error cards will ship out and be 99% in order, but perhaps the fan might not work without a tinker/replacement and you can find awesome refurb 3rd party prices.

Hi /vg/, I started up a vidya board using meguca, it's liveposting meaning you can see each letter being typed as anon writes it. In practice its like an imageboard chatroom or an ultra fast sticky. it's pretty fun tbh

Why would I want to blast keystrokes over the wire for an image board? And why is this full of degenerate Chinese cartoons? nb because you're not from around here.
