Nearly $22k a month just so people can pirate Breath of the Wild and play it on their PC. Who knew you could get filthy rich by developing a video game emulator? I wonder if RPCS3 will blow up soon once more people become aware of it. Hell, maybe someone can pick up development on Yabause or an OG Xbox emulator if they can make bank off of it. Apparently the best 3DS emulator is sold for $5 on the Google Play Store, too.

some dude completely reverse engineered the saturn a while back, so saturn emulation may evolve greatly in the future, we'll probably have flashcarts for it some day. which is essential considering those disk drives wear out after a while.

I think n64 emulation is coming along well too in recent times. god knows if we'll ever get a proper og xbox emulator though.

Shit, you mean hobbyist projects actually make substantial progress when there's money/funding behind it and talented developers can devote serious blocks of time to the project instead of it wallowing as a unfunded open source project for a decade+ because the skillsets and time investment required make it a losing proposition with no real payoff to speak of otherwise?!?!

Fuck. Who would have ever thought such a thing.

Yeah, I think I just about finished it. But it was cheap.

SPAZ was the same sort of price but I got a LOT of mileage out of that. Stellaris is a paradox game, it's still maturing but so far every update has been a huge step forward so if they continue on their track record of delivering what is promised with the expansion pack it's going to be the sci fi game we all dreamed of.

Become machines, or biological perfection or ascend to another plane of existence. Create ringworlds. The whole shebang. They already nailed combat balance recently. Having dreadnoughts with spinal mounted "giga cannon" mass accelerators and tachyon lances is boneriffic.

I've been playing Elite Dangerous, going on an Exploration trip.

I've started keeping a pen and paper Captain's Log in a Composition Notebook. You really need to create your own adventure in this game, but once you do it's amazing. I've been hacing tons of fun and have been getting super immersed. I just can't wait for Xbox Scoprio to come out with VR to really take this game to the next level.

You get 4 billion star systems to explore in a 1:1 scale model of the Milky Way galaxy. Multiple factions all opposing each other in inhabited space, and now aliens have made an appearance though we do not know what if anything they want. It's possible the way they communicate is too foreign. But they rip ships out of hyperspace and have been steadily getting closer and closer to Sol.

Anyway here's the first page.

Homeworld remastered for sure. It's a game from the 90s so the controls are a bit quirky but I think that kind of adds to it a bit once you get used to them. The cinematics of the remaster are awesome and I've always thought the the whole game portrayed the creepy silent atmosphere of space really well. Also all the races are really cool and mysterious, the bentusi, the progenitors, even the player race, the kushan, aren't really explained, just shown that they're a race identical to humans that were exiled long ago to live on a dune-type desert planet called Kharak, sans spice melange.

10/10 space game to play while high imo

i found this game hard as hell on padawan when i first played it, now i've given apprentice a try, once you know where you're going it's not hard but you still have to be really precise, especially on the nar shadaa level. you get a lightsaber and then they put you in a level with snipers and grenade throwing gran everywhere. it's one of my favourite levels ever, but i remember getting so frustrated with not knowing where to go in this game. it really is amazing because some of the obscure passageways seem like places you're not supposed to reach, you're given no hints, and sometimes you have time a jump perfectly to get to those places. dark forces ii also had a lot of really confusing levels and puzzles, and then mysteries of the sith took it a step further.

playing the game now is much easier, as fighting through hordes of enemies and being precise was a bitch with a slow frame rate.

anyway it's an amazing action game and something i miss from older games is not know where the hell to go. Star Wars Bounty Hunter too had notoriously difficult and confusing levels that involved vents and obscure passages.

its all about the three stances. in outcast it was just one saber on one saber, with a special attack for each stance. in academy they went faggot-pandering and added dual-wielded sabers and double-ended sabers with all kinds of ridiculous button-mash specials so any noob could swirl his saber around in an unbreakable pre-animated combo sequence.

outcast was FAR more skill based because you could only perform one attack at a time, chaining them together was pure skill, not defaulted to the derp keybind

if they in red stance, rush in with little blue cuts. if they yellow, sweep from afar with red. if they blue, overpower them with yellow. and be able to fluidly adapt. also work on your jumping mechanics. when i played competitively i would spend hours just jumping around bespin streets as fast as possible, trying to make my jumps precise and perfect. this gives dodging ability in a duel.

also the super protip of all time for outcast and academy: set jump to right click and force yourself to get used to it, you are instantly 25% better in a fight.

Wrong, M2 should be crouch.

I played a shit ton of jedi knight academy on servers which used the base damages (fuck mp dmgs) which was where a lot of the really high level duelers played. Sadly the community is pretty much dead now but combat revolved largely around "pokes" and "wiggles" which was moving your mouse in the opposite direction to keep it held in your opponent do to massive amounts of damage. Once you got good enough at those you could easily 1 hit your opponents if they let you get a hit in on them.

JK2 and JKA were the best moments of my online gaming career, back in the days of playing on dial up and getting a duel interrupted by a phone call for my grandma, what I wouldn't give to go back to those days.

It seems like most people avoid the staff and dual wielding stances nowadays in JA. They easily dominate a server if the know how to spam side attacks back and forth.

I missed Jedi Outcast in its prime but every once in a while i'll hop on and find a real person to fight with. They really do feel completely different despite seemingly having all the same animations.

lol skilled duelists did not play on servers where poking was enabled. single player damage was janky as fuck. real servers used JK+ mod where damage was properly balanced. people honed on such servers could annihilate poke fags 100/100 easily. right click crouch? lol. can you even name a few clans who produced some of the best duelers?

all of them with an annoying focus on MP.

So why is it, that we don't have large scale WW2 or WW1-shooters that we could play in campaigns coop with friends?!

Since Medal of Honor Allied Assault I wished for a WW2-shooter with a coop-mode!

Now we have the technology, and all we get are too much low-effort MP-12-year-old-Kaisers-scream-in-their-mic-simulators!

Replaying Splinter Cell Chaos Theory today. First played it on ps2 years ago, slightly different but still amazing. Amazing music, amazing levels, the graphics and lighting and shadows are still beautiful. At the time I'd never seen anything like that. The story is great too and reminds me a little bit of Deus Ex. Both open with levels in which you have to infiltrate a terrorist base. There are some parallels between the lighthouse level and the statue of liberty level. I like the ideas in the game too, it's quite brilliant and there are things I never picked up on before. A "revolutionary" tries to steal computer information stuff from someone who worked for the US government through torture, the government always one step ahead (or rather behind) them in the form of Sam Fisher who infiltrates and fucks up their doomed efforts. The guard's story about hiding in the mountains at the start of the game and admitting defeat before being raided by the US who time their shots with the thunder as they gaze into the thunderstorm is great.

The bank level is one of my favourite levels in any game. The stealth mechanics are still great today, although somehow I preferred playing it on PS2 as I preferred using the analogue stick for adjusting movement speed.

You'll need to find a copy and make sure that its not patched all the way to the last thing that came out. There's a guide on that page mane.
