This game is free to play now if anyone is interested in 'smash bros with kb+m meets moba' .

Basically the only game i play on steam nowadays (1500+ hours...). Not without its problems of course such as cancerous community and normal p2p connection issues. I can throw my steam on here if anyone does want to group or something.

The 'Test Punch' for ARMS begins in 13mins. It will run similar to the Splatoon test fire. All characters will be playable and I believe it'll be running for an hour.

Anyone else interested?

I played for a bit. Feeling a little mixed on it but overall it's looking good. Punching feels good but movement is a little clunky. I imagine once you get good it feels great to play. Characters seem pretty balanced so far, and I'm eager to test out all kinds of arm combinations. The casual online lobby system is pretty cool, but I'll probably do more ranked matches when I get the game for real. Not a big fan of 3-4 player FFAs, and the non-fight modes are just alright, so constant easy 1v1s seems the most fun. What did you think?
Divayth Fyr - Fri, 26 May 2017 21:59:29 EST ID:8pv6Wg4J No.701093 Ignore Report Quick Reply

I played mainly with Min Min because for some reason her curved attacks clicked with me. Sneaking around test tubes with a punch is satisfying.

The motion controls are fine but I found myself instinctively rotating the controls back to the thumb up position. I would have liked more if there was a solid offline mode for training but that isn't the point of Test Fire.

1v1v1 is balls and 2v2 is fun. I think I'll play 2v2 more than most modes.

>Punching feels good but movement is a little clunky. I imagine once you get good it feels great to play.

Once you've played with the motion controls for a little while, you start to get a hang of the rhythm. The mistake I think many will make when playing with the motion controls is thinking that it's like Wii Boxing where they can just repeatedly jab, but really this game feels like it's a little more about precision and timing. Once you get a feel for how long it takes each type of arm to extend and how long it takes them to perform each of their respective abilities before retracting and allowing you to throw another punch, your motions eventually begin to instinctively line up more with the animations and you find yourself more and more (providing you can stay calm in a fight against someone of equal or greater skill) avoiding making pointless movements just like with any fighting game where if you want to actually git gud and feel a real sense of accomplishment, you gotta remain calm and not button mash in a panic.

Sup everyone,

I used to play WoW religiously, like stupid amounts of time invested.
I feel off the bandwagon around the Panda expansion, resubbed here and there to check things out but have felt the game was in a lull.

Is it worth coming back into with the current expansion set? Been watching a few vids and the ascetic looks pretty good; but does it capture that old RPG feeling from days of old?
Furthermore, implying I do return; do any of you still play? Is there a 420 guild on US servers?

The Old Republic was fun because you could torment your smart-ass Twi'lek slave as a Sith, by activating her shock collar/force chocking her. You could also form a relationship with her too if you so pleased and remove her shock collar. The story was...meh. And the in game was ok. Now, you can play for free, but it's gonna take you forever to level up unless you subscribe.

Good if your a Star Wars/Bioware fan or have nothing else to do, otherwise, you can ignore that.

>is it worth coming back into with the current expansion set?
Depending what you're looking for. I think that they have done a really good job making the game more casually entertaining since WoD. Kind of like what
>>700991 said, if you are looking for that old feeling of community and sitting in front of your computer all day talking to guildies then you are going to have a really hard time unless you've already got friends going in. However I do think that even though it's harder to form lasting bonds with people it is a lot easier to find a group of guys raiding or something and join in. Kind of like playing a MOBA with a group of randoms instead of your group of friends.
>Do any of you still play?
I don't know if the 420 guild is still up and running, I would doubt it. I can't play the game for much longer than 3 months or so without getting bored.

Warrior Within was the best Prince of Persia game IMO. But whenever it's brought up, it seems like most people consider it the worst. I played 1-3 on PS2 and personally, I thought 1 was ok, and absolutely hated 3 and felt like it was a chore to complete. Think I just really enjoyed the dark setting and themes of Warrior Within. And those parts where that thing chases you (it's been a really long time since I played it). Anyway, I thought it was a really good game and consider that an unpopular opinion.

I commend them for that, but it seems pretty much impossible for someone to go back to that in this day.

In my opinion Final Fantasy Dirge of Cerberus was a fantastic game, many FF fans hated it without giving it a chance, I myself not being an fan of FF series really loved that game.
Predator Concrete Jungle was a great game, the only minus was the story but back in a days, the game was amazing.
I also loved Fallout 4 as much as I did New Vegas and 3.
Grand Theft Auto V was my 3rd favorite GTA game after Vice City and San Andreas.
Despite being an great game with a nice gameplay mechanics, Metal Gear Solid V was empty as shit!
Mafia 2 is amazing, but would been better if it was mor open and bigger.
Max Payne 3 would been better if it used the good ending of 2nd game where Mona survived.
Splinter Cell series needs to get an reboot and a new protagonist, since Ironside will no lonver voice Sam Fisher, I don't see a reason to continiu the series with that character.
The new Hitman game would been better if it wasn't an episodic.
Deus Ex Mankind Divided was very weak compared with Human Revolution.
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is the best AC game in the series.
Mortal Kombat X wasn't that great if compare it with it's predecessor.
I liked Bayonetta but I think that Devil May Cry 4 was better.
Resident Evil 5 was the last game in the titled series that I enjoyed.
Street Fighter 3rd Strike is still the best in a whole series.

Nah, that game was shit. I remember giving up halfway because I somehow glitched through a level into an area I wasn't supposed to be in yet and when I loaded a save, the game broke completely and the character model was all shadowy and glowing and I was constantly losing health for no good reason.

Sands of Time was also overrated AF.

Replaying Splinter Cell Chaos Theory today. First played it on ps2 years ago, slightly different but still amazing. Amazing music, amazing levels, the graphics and lighting and shadows are still beautiful. At the time I'd never seen anything like that. The story is great too and reminds me a little bit of Deus Ex. Both open with levels in which you have to infiltrate a terrorist base. There are some parallels between the lighthouse level and the statue of liberty level. I like the ideas in the game too, it's quite brilliant and there are things I never picked up on before. A "revolutionary" tries to steal computer information stuff from someone who worked for the US government through torture, the government always one step ahead (or rather behind) them in the form of Sam Fisher who infiltrates and fucks up their doomed efforts. The guard's story about hiding in the mountains at the start of the game and admitting defeat before being raided by the US who time their shots with the thunder as they gaze into the thunderstorm is great.

The bank level is one of my favourite levels in any game. The stealth mechanics are still great today, although somehow I preferred playing it on PS2 as I preferred using the analogue stick for adjusting movement speed.

Solid-single player campaign that meshed well with the original and based multiplayer that added more content to an already fun mechanic. There was a server where players consistently spawned with all weapons (bhop/gauss jumping enabled) which was more or less the high water mark in my experience with twitch shooting
(alongside team fortress classic).

To be honest, I'd be more hype at this point for Opposing Force 2 than Half Life 3, but I'm not sure how Valve would sort that out with Gearbox.

That game is fun as fuck. That series is interesting because the first game as an awesome story and cool co-op but the gameplay is janky as all fuck. The sequel has great gameplay and fun co-op but the story is completely retarded and stupid. I always wished they could have made a third one where everything came together but I guess on the bright side IO Interactive rejuvenated Hitman since after Kane & Lynch 2 it seemed like they were on the verge of being shuttered.

Just finished this today. Some people had said it was short but I had about 30 hours in it, and it was great. It is a bit focused on narrative but the narrative really shines. I'm curious if anyone else has beaten it, and what ending you chose and why.

I chose to revive the Changing God's Daughter. And it wasn't for any of the stupid reasons the game lets you choose (that she's an innocent victim and blah blah blah).
As I played the game, a bunch of characters you run in to all have different views on the Changing God. Whether he was good, or bad, or selfish, or altruistic, or knowledgeable, or wise. After a while I started to realize he's just like the player character. He just wandered around, with a goal in mind sure, but never really knowing how his decisions would turn out. I made lots of decisions in the game that turned out way differently than I thought, sometimes for better or worse. I'm sure this is how the Changing God acted, Aligern in particular wants to know why the Changing God told him how to operate the artifact that encoded his entire village. He probably didn't even realize what the consequences would be when he told Aligern how to operate the thing. And so I think most of what the Changing God did was accidental, or luck, like a lot of the things that I did in the game.
However, there was one thing he wanted very desperately to do on purpose. And really there was only ever one thing. He wanted to save his daughter. And for the thousands of years of his life, for the abuse of ancient, sealed away powers, for the millions of lives destroyed or saved, he was unable to. Of all the things he had accomplished incidentally he was unable to achieve the one thing he wanted more than anything. He wanted it so badly that he was willing to sacrifice everything but still he was denied. That's why I chose to save the girl. So that the story wouldn't be just another random twist of fate. So that the love of that daughter, the love that caused so much suffering across so many shattered realities over thousands of years, could be fulfilled. So that one man who had lifted himself up to godhood and could bend reality to his will could have at least one thing o…

Wtf? hes with you for most of the game. I know the specter is a secondhand consciousness of the changing god but they're essentially the same person. Also hardly anyone has anything good to say about him besides his own cult. I actually played selflessly and maintained a gold tide till the very end. I know this sounds narcissistic but I really feel I made the most benevolent choices I could the whole game, including the end. The people I helped seemed pretty satisfied tbh.

Absolutely, if you don't mind walls of text. It doesn't live up to the original imho, and from skimming that review I'd agree that the overarching story is kinda disappointing, like a lot of buildup for something I didn't find particularly mindblowing. Despite that it's still a great classic-style cRPG, with some refreshing twists on the old formula and plenty of well-written characters, interesting choices (though some of them aren't super consequential), and cool locales.

I wouldn't play it for free. I missed the Kickstarter and I pirated it when I saw the Steam reviews. I slogged halfway through the game and uninstalled when I realized I didn't have any interest in the characters, the plot, or the universe. There are people who think it's a well written game and the disconnect is utterly baffling. If you told me I had actually read a lot of rough draft/placeholder text, I could believe it.

Hey there,

I kept my MS sidewinder for years but it's not doing so well anymore, sadly.. Sucks, I really liked it.

So why post here when there's tons of reviews on the webz?

Well, because i feel that most user reviews are on:
  • short-term use.
  • "dem dank led keys". For me it's a bonus, not a prioriry. I'd gladly welcome some colors but only if it's an overall great keyboard.
I.e. responsive, comfortable and proper for fps which is what I play these days.

I don't have a price range, really. I take care of my stuff so I don't mind paying big bucks since I see it as an investment and I really want quality instead of regrets.

TL;DR I want a really good keyboard for FPS and willing to pay the price.
Those colourful keys won't bother me at all if the rest kicks ass too.

Fun fact: The original das keyboard I bought is in my amazon history as some grey generic Keytronic now.

But I made that money back on the heavily discounted das keyboard I use now.

But the USB hub caught fire in that one. I've shunted the usb over so I can still use one port.

Anyway Das Keyboard is nothing but a brand. They use the same cheap shit inside as everyone else. But on the other hand all mechanical keyboards are fixable as fuck.

Also it's not Das Keyboard it's die keyboard. what a pile of fuck. Buy literally every other brand.

I just realized that I also have a Razer mouse which I hate because the drivers are awful.
My laptop also has the sleep button stuck between the mute and volume keys.
My monitor is two months old and has a piece of the bezel peeling off.

So if you paid full price for something and think you overpaid, and you don't have any of these issues, know that you didn't.

I buy a lot of stuff that I wouldn't recommend. But I do know exactly what I'm replacing these with when the time comes.

K70 wins for me. If you want keys that are not too loud, go for cherry mx switches. Only bad thing is they are easy to make typos on.

I tried a few mechanical keyboards but for me, nothing compares to good old buckling springs. I had a Model M I got from eBay and I loved it, but mine broke while I was cleaning it (and I still haven't forgiven myself for letting it happen) so I've been thinking about getting a Unicomp replacement once I got the cash for it.

Really surprised there wasn't any thread about this on the chan for druggies. It feels like Katamari Damacy but there's actually no goal other than understanding how the universe works. It's an educational tool for potheads. You just go around and be different things. But the behavior of the other things make you think everything is one. While high I make up all the manner of stories. I caused a couple of aliens to divorce and their kids ran away for instance. This is all just me extrapolating the odd and slightly random behavior of the npcs. Also the game makes it really clear that you're no better than an NPC.

Holy fuck when you start talking to other universes in the multiverse.

you know there's at least a couple items you've never really used much. what about that cool cactus house you always wanted to try making? you could be setting up trap systems to repel invasion mobs right now. there's so much stuff you can do. you know you want to.

seriously? biomes? that much time and you haven't messed around in the desert or whatever area you've missed out on? no way.

addendum: thinking about it, if you're the same user who was doing the server back when, i guess you could've racked up 1000+ hours hosting/idling, but still. no way you can have terraria running that long and not spend tons of time playing around in it.

"Everything" is cool as all fuck. I think it's actually a pretty groundbreaking piece of art. I'm not aware of any other interactive media that has ever tried to simulate the experience of oneness with the world. The voiceovers from Alan Watts are great and I love how the game keeps revealing new layers of itself and new mechanics once you feel like you've done everything.

If I was trying to explain the oneness of everything to someone who was open minded but didn't really get it, I would use this game as a teaching tool. It works by not just giving you the intellectual awareness of reality but by letting you somewhat experience it it also helps the information to be processed on an emotional level too.
The guy who created it, David O'Reilly, is probably my favourite short film creator ever too. Check out "The External World" by him if you haven't.

They redid a few biomes in a recent patch, adding in sandstorm events, some crazy fossil prehistoric biome with all sorts of items to find, and a dungeon defender style tower defense event where you can get all sorts of new turrets and stuff for base protection. I went without a pc for about a year after my old one burned out, been catching up on other games until then. I even bought terreria on the 360 in that period without the pc, built a huge ass seaside home then realized I'd have no way to import it over to the pc

When I hosted the server I was using the dedicated server exe most of the time, so the game wasn't usually running.

I'm playing this for the first time in about 10 years. I was obsessed with when it came out. I remember how good it was with all the mods. I was playing it on Lowest on my crappy home PC and it was quite stuttery but I played and loved the hell out of it anyway.

Decided to re-install, as I found the GOTY edition while dumpster diving (lol). Installed FCOM superpack and I am having a fucking blast. I forgot how good this game was. Though I couldn't play vanilla to be honest, this game has to be modded to enjoy it after the first playthrough. Skyrim does trump in terms of mechanics/gameplay and graphics, but the quests and the atmosphere in Oblivion was so much better. I love how everyone is slightly (or fullblown) crazy, there's a real kind of quirky eccentric vibe to Cyrodil. Skyrim just feels so drab, generic and a bit lifeless in comparison (though I've not played it with mods). Can't speak that much for Morrowind, never played it growing up and I've tried to play it (with graphics mods and all) but just couldn't get into it - the combat is just so fucky.

Anyway, Oblivion thread. This game has some of the funniest and also most disturbing bugs I've seen, strangely adds to the experience. Anyway discuss. I am currently a female Imperial, an assassin-mage type of thing. My 7 major skills are Blade, Light Armour, Alteration, Illusion, Alchemy, Acrobatics and Sneak. I basically augment my quick assassin/thief type of combat and lifestyle with Alteration and Illusion spells. This is basically the stock character I use in any TES game if I haven't played in a long time.

Oblivion actually has a crucifixion mod. You just have to use the same mod that people use to make their waifus dance.

Oblivion has just as many badass mods as Skyrim.

It's been some years since i've looked into playing and modding it but I'm positive you'll still find some cool stuff on the Oblvion mod Nexus. There are plenty of ENB mods and things that probably run a lot better on modern machines. I think there's even older versions of Frostfall and realistic needs and diseases and the like available. There are also mods that fix the weird ass level scaling. There's a few really nice DLC sized mods like Elsweyr Deserts of Anequina that add huge new land masses to the game.
Most of the best mods are only available if you have the DLCs

>Are there mods for Oblivion
Yes, they are good, you should play them.

I'm currently playing the FCOM Superpack, which is a combination of FOUR overhaul mods. I can't even really begin to describe how good they are. Have a look at this thread just to get an idea of how many it contains http://superpackden.mastertopforum.net/fcom-superpack-main-thread-descriptio-vt6.html

I mean vanilla Oblivion is pretty good (bar the level scaling crap), but this is such a radically different game with this superpack. For 5 minutes I've been typing and re-typing, trying to put into words how good it is, but it's just not happening. All I can do is recommend a clean install of GOTY Oblivion, and then download this simple little .exe that does everything for you. All you literally have to do is have a quick read of the readmes in the folder, and open the setup, then the rest does itself. I recall when I was younger modding Oblivion was insane and a ton of effort, however someone has gone through the effort of installing and setting up all that crap and packed it into this neat little .exe. Quite stable too, I play for about 6 hours and I get maybe 2-3 CTDs, not really a problem as it takes about 30 seconds to reload.

Anyway enough of ranting just try it out. Oblivion has aged beautifully.

Not a bad assortment of mods at all. I'm always resistant to mega mods like this because I like to micro manage a ton of little tiny mods that do their own specific thing but this pack seems to hit all the main things that I would typically mod and still include a few of the big mainstays

It did used to be a pain in the ass to mod Oblivion but that was all part of the fun. Nowadays I think the nexus mod manager cuts down most of the work.

Nigga u trippin

I played the game a bit, and I liked it, but I'll take DS3 any day over Nioh.

I like the variety of items you get in Nioh, but they're all basically leveled or recycled versions of other weapons and armor. Didn't have a chance to PVP in it, or coop, so I dunno what that's like, but I prefer Dark Souls. Maybe I just got accustomed to its combat style.

But I did play Bloodborne as well, liked it alot except for having minimal options for weapons; I guess I have the same complaint for Nioh.

Dark Souls just offers a ton of versatility in play style based on the weapons/weapon art you have available; that's something I didn't see in Nioh.

Besides, you can just get the animu katana sword-thingy right at the beginning in Dark Souls 3 and pretend you're playing Ni-oh. Man I love that sword. Holding it at your hip all samurai style and then unsheathing it at a charging enemy is so goddamn satisfying.

What's also satisfying is starting a new game, making a bee-line for the guy wielding it, and immediately kicking that fucker off the ledge before he knows what the fucks up. Don't bring a sword to a kickboxing competition negro.

I agree with a few people here.

I got nothing against Nioh, I thought it was okay, but better than Dark Souls 3? Nah bro. Nioh had recycled enemies and bland levels. Boss fights were decent, though.
