I currently live in Tampa, Florida. I've lived here all of my life and I'm absolutely sick of it. I want to go to a nice city-type area and start a new life. Anyone know of any good places to move to? I'm going to visit Chicago during Spring Break and see if I like it up there but I'm unsure of where I want to go, I just know that I want to go.

OP
Chicago is a cool place. It's not as big or as fancy as New York, but it has a lot to offer. The food is awesome, the art scene is awesome, the music is awesome, the beer is awesome. There is a lot of amazing architecture both in the Loop and in the neighborhoods. I've lived here all my life and I love it.

Check out the Raleigh, NC area. It's a pretty popular spot and consistently ranked one of the best places to live in the US. Halfway between the mountains and the ocean, cool as fuck young people scene. If you're looking for a really great town in the area, I'd check out Carrboro, NC. Right next door to UNC and a really fucking hippy but not too pretentious town.

I just got a new stereo for my 2004 Chevy Impala. My dad took my old factory stereo for his truck, an '05 Colorado, and installed it. It fits, it gets power, but when he turns it on the anti-theft security locks it out and the stereo won't play. I searched around and found some videos explaining how to unlock older stereos, but the methods don't work on the '04 model. Can anyone point me into the right direction?

Now I'm not entirely sure on the specific procedure for your model, but I've been told that there's a specific code set by the original buyer of the car. Are you even that far or can you not even figure out how to get to the part where you input the code? I hate to say this but they might have it set up that you have no choice but to take it in to a dealer. I hate new cars...

you should have a card with the code on it in your impala's owners manual. Also I know that with the Impalas that are a few years older, the vehicle anti theft system and a few other things were tied into the radio. You could only change or reset them using the factory head unit with its readout and when/if you changed it causes problems.

I just semi-fixed my lenses a few months ago, they were thick with a yellow coating. There's a kit that you can buy that has successive grades of sandpaper and an end coating, I bought a 3M one through a local auto parts dealer. You just need a drill to use it.

My lenses are fairly clean now, particularly after the half-assed job that I did.

if they only get like that after rain, carwash or temp change, then its condensation and it means the headlight seal is not doing its job.
if you changed a bulb recently, you might not have put the cover back properly

so i live in a small Town and super small town like Pop. 1500 or so. Maybe a little more, bet the town next over that i occasionally spend time in has a Pop. of like 21,000 But only Because of a college, When the College is gone businesses will shut down and everything. Its a cool town though a nice set of bars and cool stores nice restaurants, cool people nice town. But i jsut dont like how the economy runs. I like the idea of a town about 3 to 4 times bigger maybe, possibly even bigger. But i dont like the idea of a huge city i feel like there would be to much violence and jsut to many people maybe and possibly to expensive to live in. Does anyone know any cities like this that im describing possibly more up North as well, Some where were it doesnt get super hot

New Moto Rider, beginner bike for a beginner rider? by disimba !cdS.s/t/WI - Thu, 30 Aug 2012 15:49:09 EST ID:452b8tnm No.23807 Ignore Report Reply Quick Reply

I'm looking to begin riding. I just know NOTHING about motorcycles, I can BARELY drive stick in a car (Never had the chance to learn). Anyway, I'm wondering what a good beginner bike would be? Something that will keep me on the roads would be perfect like even 50ish tops since most roads here are 45mph speed limit. Something that would be around 1k because i will be purchasing it for my 21st birthday in the upcoming winter. Something older would be more ideal so i can not worry about dropping it or messing something up as well as that it's more likely to be in my price range.
The bike posted is an ideal bike, id love to ride to save gas, i hardly go out of town, and everything i need is close by. A car just feels so unnecessary. Also,, i love making older things nice and refurbished so I'll be doing that as well, learning about the design and engine of the bike slowly. Idk, I'm just a little afraid of learning the clutch, and wanted to know others opinions on it and what I should do.

OP, I'be been riding for about a month now. Best / only advice I can give you is, if you think it's gonna be super hard to learn on a bike, chances are you'll make it hard. So just have fun learning, and don't take stupid chances / show off / get hooked on speed.

Oh and if you can ride a bicycle with gears in traffic, then you'll really have no problem learning to ride a motorcycle.

Have fun, be safe :)

If you want something you can easily work on, get an old bike. Something 1960-80, also known as the rise of the jap bike. Anything Japanese made around this time was of pretty good quality. If you want something before that time, go for a British bike.

Newer bikes are a little more tricky to work on, but still very easy compared to a car.

As you don't drive a manual, I STRONGLY recommend that whatever you get/learn to ride on, has an electronic start. You will be constantly stalling the bike and kicking it over every time is a bitch.

Don't get a 125. If you must, get a 250. You say you only want to ride around the city etc, and the 125 is OK for that, but it's really just a moped dressed up as a bike... As soon as you get comfortable riding you will want to be out on the motorways and up in the hills, and a 125 will frustrate the hell out of you.

I learned on a CB 125 and vowed to never get on one again, full throttle, down hill on the freeway and I could hardly hit 95 km/h, cars pissed off speeding past, trying to change lanes to get around you. It was frustrating and dangerous.

My first bike was a CB400 and I now also have a 1948 BSA M21 600cc and I've never had an issue with too much power. But I was driving manual cars for years before I started on a bike, so I don't know how you'll fair.

Learn how to ride on a 125 or 250, but buy something that has the potential to mature with you.

I've never understood the fixation with cafe racers. I mean they're stylish and all and the stories about the streetrace traditions are cool, but sportbikes are different now. I love UJMs but I get why they're only kinda sorta echoed by the bikes made today.

I'm planning to move in to a cheap apartment in Orlando (probably Winter Park ) after New Year's. I've lived in south Florida my entire life but never spent much time in the Orlando area, so I only know a couple of local people and even fewer local places.

So basically, if you know anything about living in Orlando on a dirt poor student budget, I'd really appreciate whatever tips you're willing to share. Cheap places to rent apartments, eat, shop, hang out, etc. would help a lot. In exchange, I offer you this amusing news story from my homeland.
