The Zonda looks like a space ship while the Huayra is a space ship.
And yes the Italians are the best at aesthetics in most regards.
Even the Ferrari Mondial Turbo is sort of sexy.
Its also a Turbocharged Ferrari, which even in this case means business.

It's a shame they're so unreliable. I'm happy to be a eurofag so there are a lot of italian cars cruisin around. My dad used to have an Alfa 155 like this when i was about 8. Shit was so fuckin cash, the little twin spark engine would push it till 240KMH. Had to sell it though because it never spent a week without an electrical problem.

Too bad the Ghibli is such a dreadful car outside of the fact that it looks and sounds gorgeous (MC Stradale is a classy car though).

I'd also rate English cars up there with Italians. I know most of them are now owned by foreign corporations but they still have that distinctly British feeling.

German cars; I've never really felt strongly for. Yes, they're amazing works of engineering but they feel so sterile and soulless.

I also still have a sweet spot for the brashness of American cars and hot-rod culture. There's something amazing about a Chevy Cobolt that can out-race an M3.

>Souless

Youve never owned or driven a VW, the only other German car Ive ever driven was an old 90s S500. My Dad had one in 06 and Ive owned a VW and an Integra, but I've driven multiple cars through my parents and rentals. I learned to drive manual transmission on a Hyundai, best and worst 30 minutes of my driving experience next to getting pulled over.

I watched this youtube video once of off-road vehicles.

>WRF-450.
>Mercedes survival truck-tank thing.
>Some shitty Polaris ATV.
>A Polaris RZR.
>This weird German 8 wheeled amphibious vehicle.

They had all these obstacles set up and shit and it was a "test" to see what was the best off-road vehicle. Anyways, they all get to this big like water hole and shit and most stop, the truck-tank went through it I think and everyone else stayed behind. The German guy driving his german 8 wheel thing fixes his Hitla Youf haircut and equips a smug face and puts his car-boat into the water and crosses it. Mockingly.

I would kinda like to clrive his German 8 wheeled vehicle thing.

>First shown at the Olympia Motor Show in London in late 1935, the Phantom III was produced until July 1939. Of the 70 sent to North America, 18 received wood-framed, alloy-skinned bodies by J. S. Inskip, Rolls-Royce's distributor in New York. A complete car could leave the Inskip shops priced a little bit on either side of $20,000.

depending on how much money the dude had, it could very well be a solid chunk of wood.

i'd bet it was some veneer, though :( doesn't change the fact that that is one beautiful hunk of metal

For some reason they still don't have a problem with the Isle of Man TT; which boasts at least one fatality every year for decades now. I suppose the TT represents something more though having been around since the dawn of motorcycle racing. Healthy competition between nations / manufacturers while fostering respect & camaraderie among both drivers & teams for almost a hundred years now..

These cars are not really comparable. The ATS predates the Ferrari by at least 25 years. It's also smaller and more in the style of a roadster than a bespoke street-legal race car imo. Cars like the Ferrari were not even conceived of until cars like the Miura came out. The companies were also totally different, especially in size, and the ATS looks great and sounds good on paper but apparently was not well executed and had quality issues. Some say the same about the F40 though too. In any case, they're very different but I'd be thrilled to own either, assuming I didn't have to maintain them.

okay so that was partly right, apparently the ats was the first mid engined car built. And in order to build a car brand, they built a race car too--which was the ferrari recipe for success, but it was based on an old design and apparently shitty, so the race car did not promote the road car as intended and the car was not successful. That's all I really know, I just mostly think these old cars look sweet and are notable, I don't know much about them.

It looks like someone reeeeally liked the shitty chassis of the Z4 and wanted to make something in between of a LFA and the R8 but he didn't want it to be fast.

I've seen kit cars with more grace than this.

I was going to refer back to my old posts in that old thread about old italian cars, but this is that old thread.

I still think they're the best.

The Bizzarrini sounds especially amazing and the silver ferrari is tearing it up

sounds pretty f1-y and that double clutch auto makes it too easy... yeah they're nice but they don't do it for me as much as they used to.

I think easy credit has ruined nice new cars for me. it's really not hard to finance something flashy now, and I just don't see the innovation anymore really. Lambo used to require their cars be purchased with cash. half the cars out there are built by audi and they're all built to a price rather than designed out of passion... a sign of the times I guess. this isn't limited to cars either
