Hello there,

I'm going to London with a friend in the first weekend of June. It's gonna be my first time. Can you recommend what to do / where to go / what to see? I don't know what I want, I'm just stoked to see the city. (yes, I am doing my research, but I love 420chan, so asking you guys, also)

If it helps: love food/alcohol; wanna go to a true pub; eat fish and chips; eat traditional English breakfast; music; nature; markets; small shops.

I don't know. Don't wanna go mainstream places (unless they are worth it (I probably sound dumb)).

Thank you for your input!!!

Just go on the street. You'll find everything you listed. If you're looking for weed go Camden Town, ask around on the street and in shops, be wary of scams.

I also said that I am looking for suggestions, m8, what do you not understand? I'm not gonna go to the first pub that I bump into and drop all my cash there. Don't reply if you have nothing to add, please

What I had to add was If you don't care about touristy things just fucking head down the street and enjoy london. I don't know what you expect. Most pubs in London are pretty great and are chain operated anyway. So there's not many secrets.

Im a biased northerner (come t' north...), but I wouldnt say to focus on getting an authentic "english" experience in London, a British experience maybe.. London is very much an international city like New York, renowned for its exotic wares, the showcase of an empire. Getting a fish and chips there is just as authentic as getting a curry or sushi or whatever. The same extends to what you want to do there, whatever you are interested you can probably find some of the best of it in London. I'd recommend specific places but I dont think even those who live there cant keep track of such a changing city. At least the museums will always remain some of the best in the world and free! (national portrait is a personal fav). You can have the whole world in London if you have the money (and you might need a lot of money..)

Theres a few good castles in england, but for the best ones you have to go to Ireland, Scotland and Wales, where they were needed to intimidate the celts. As for roman ruins we have a few but not many cause we were a frontier nation (hadrians wall, bath, chester and york have good roman stuff).
What we do have though is lots of ruins of monasteries and cathedrals from when we did away with catholics, bit of a shame compared with the existing ones left in the rest of europe.

You should check out atlas obscura also OP.
