Are there any people here who regularly consume cannabis (eating it or smoking) and feel like they are emotionally numb? For example, you can watch a sad short film, and acknowledge that it is sad, but you don't get that lump in your throat. I guess what I am trying to say is that you aren't completely numb (you can still feel happy, sad, mad, etc), but the spectrum of it is a lot smaller if that makes sense. A while back, I took a month-long break, and I noticed that things that wouldn't make me feel that sad did. I don't know... I've been particularly indifferent in my emotions lately, and it bothers me.

Nah. I'm aware that those types of drugs will do that to people, though.

Long term constant smoking definitely blunts my emotions after a while. Getting really high can make me feel emotions more intensely in the moment but over a longer period things are more complacent, less emotionally driven.

yes definitely OP, everything is more dull if you are a heavy smoker of weed (every day 1+ gram) from what I have experienced personally.

i wont go into specifics but I feel most people who have smoked every day for multiple years find it hard to go without it

I'm a firm believer in embracing negative emotions and sadness, and crying in general, but damn man, if the break up was more than a month ago, you really need to sort yourself out. If you're emotionally out of touch to the point where no film could make you feel something, but you're still so attached to your ex that seeing their picture can make you cry, then you've got some serious work you need to do on yourself. No judgement, we've all been there, but seriously man take some time, sit down with a pen and a pad, think about your life and what you want it to be, what you value, what's important to you. The good news is that once you truly let go of your ex, you'll realize how much bigger a person you are and how much you can go through and lose and still continue to live a happy, fulfilling life.

Best of luck to you, friend, I hope you find your way.
