There are much worse things that I'm addicted to that weed is not a problem. And even tho I have this situation, I learned trough time to only smoke after I've done all my shit.

THC is structurally similar to the neurotransmitter anandamide

Anandamide is involved with feelings of satiety/fullness after eating, and has been known to work improperly in bulimics

This is probably why THC's only real withdrawal effect tends to be decreased appetite

I am so fucking done with this place. Not because DURR I'M QUITTIN WEED like so many of you false-flag fucks do, but because this place has become overrun with first dozens if not hundreds of """SUBTLE""" reverse psychology ploys and outright lies to convince a fuckin' weed board "DO YOU THINK WEED IS POISONOUS? SCIENTISTS SAY NO BUT OP SAYS YES""ummm actually weed is terrible 4u", "guys I finally quit weed and I can bench press 1000 lbs now, PRAISE JEEBUS"

And now you've got fuckin /pol/locks shitkicking around.

Oh well. Nothing last forever. I just didn't wanna leave before saying once how FUCKED this place has become.

Are you seriously upset that there is actual discussion going on with people of differing opinions and experiences, rather than an echo-chamber hive-mind of people claiming weed has no downsides? Yeah, sure, anyone with a different opinion than you is just lying and using reverse psychology, it's all one great big conspiracy.

Let me be the first to say; good riddance. You'd be much more suited to the other chan.

This, and cannabis helped me kick a lot of previous bad habits so somehow it's still a net positive for me.

I'll be honest, if I decide to smoke up before/during cleaning my house it takes a lot longer but it gets fucking CLEAN. Also planning to start a bunch of online courses and get skill-based diplomas to pad my resumé (all done high, obviously).

I'm not addicted to weed, I'm addicted to not being in pain. A few years back I had to make the switch from managing pain with booze and opiates, and the change has been great. I've lost weight since I'm not a zombie on opiates (I had some surgeries to help with pain before switching to MMJ), and not drinking insane amounts of alcohol anymore. This in also helped with some blood sugar issues I was having due other meds I was on.

It becomes "addicting" when you let it become a routine in your life. I would leave social gatherings early so I could smoke before bed (the only time i would let myself do it). There were times I wish I could smoke on vacation and couldn't wait to go home...

About a month ago I decided I wanted a better job and quit (temporarily) because I know I will be piss tested so I abstain. Once I get my new job, I know for sure I will be going back into orbit and it will be glorious. Probably much less frequently though.

So "addiction to marijuaners" is a choice that you can kick with making a choice.

Addiction to weed happens as a marking time thing. You've got nothing better going on, might as well spend it high. The solution is to look at your life and make radical changes outside of the marijuana habit, something that puts you outside of easy access and keeps your mind distracted until sundown.

yeah but i was addicted to benz/lyrica for four years & the PAWS i got from stopping those made sobriety a pretty miserable experience so i’m just glad there’s something very low risk like weed. it really is no different to coffee to me at this point & i could stop neither out of the blue.

Kinda, I guess, psychologically.

I'm not like OH GOD IF I DON'T GET SOME WEED I'LL FREAK OUT MAN!!!111 If I'm dry for a week or two, I'll be like "well this sucks" and trudge on through the week.

I smoke weed to make being a grad student bearable and deal with rough situations, sorta like a person might have a couple of beers after a long day at work or have a shot of whiskey after nearly getting hit by a car walking home. (I completely abstain from alcohol these days for various reasons)

I guess you could say I don't "fiend" for weed like I used to, say, fiend for booze or dexedrine like back when I had, but I do get seriously bummed if I can't get stoned at a party or after work/class.

It's fucking weed. It's nothing. It's caffeine levels of addiction, if that. Try doing meth for a year and then try to stop that. Then you'll understand addiction.

Weed withdrawal can suck dick. Prolonged heavy use can cause depersonalization, and withdrawals from heavy use can cause depression, lethargy, irritation, and lack of appetite as some of the most common side effects. I've dealt with opiate withdrawals before, so I know what it's like to spend six hours a night tossing with cold sweats, feeling like I want to cut my legs off, horrible depression. Sure, marijuana withdrawal is nothing like a heavily physically and psychologically addictive drug, but it's definitely addictive, and the withdrawals can be pretty lame for such an ordinarily comfortable and predictable drug.

Yeah. I'm 24 now, spent the last 10 years smoking, with at least 8 years of those more than daily. Missed uncountable opportunities, social interactions, adventures because I got high and I'm one of those guys that become anti-social/lazy as fuck when stoned.

It gave me alot though. But I feel like I gave more than I got. Failed almost every education I tried since I was smoking, I feel like my emotions are dumbed down, I forget where my car keys and phone is all the time, sometimes even multiple times before I can finally depart to somewhere. I'm looking pale/sick for quite some years now. IQ was tested because my father thought I was dumb as fuck because I failed everything, came back 129. Can't do anything, haven't learned anything and I feel like a retard because my mind just blocks whenever I have to solve a complex situation.

I don't blame the weed, I blame myself for choosing to smoke more than 100g's a month for years, especially as an adolescent growing up. Did multiple schools, always hanged with the dealers and users. Friends got sent to psychiatric wards, multiple people went to rehab just for weed alone. Some of my friends will still get up, smoke a joint first of all before even breakfast. I feel like the problem is when you use too much as an adoloscent when you grow up, you don't know anything else. Similarly to how you should only smoke after work and doing everything you had to do, you should only start smoking after you built up a life, after you've developed as a person.

I don't think I've went anywhere without at least some extra grams of emergency supply in the last year. Or have been fully sober for more than a couple of days the last years

Hate to ruin your ego boost but heroin withdrawals can also kill you. One quick Google search and you could've known that yourself, and who the fuck compares their withdrawal to someone else's to begin with? No one was asking you to come here and be an attention whore about it. No bump because thread was fucking stupid to begin with, obviously there are other marijuana addicts on a board labelled /weed/.

....What? No one is talking about if drinking water can kill you. You were stating that heroin withdrawals can't kill you, which blatantly isn't true. There aren't just a few cases, there are thousands and by your logic of "Google it until you're right" then your withdrawal is just as trivial. Instead of educating yourself on the topic like a normal human being you once again felt the need to feed your obviously fragile ego by posting a response that doesn't make you seem any more right.

I stick by what I said about opiate withdraw not being shit compared to benzo withdraw. I still have diazepam around but I give it away now. I am terrified of it after 5 months clean. I smoke weed and take a few codeine now and then though.
