This man is booked every week on at least Raw or 205 live, sometimes both shows at once. In fact, he's one of, if not the most booked cruiserweight in WWE. He always gets his full entrance. He always gets a decent length match. He has no story lines or anything, but has a constant presence on all programming.

How does he keep getting away with it? Why him? Why can't he take a week off?

Daivari won me over a little once he started doing that clothesline thing.
He's got a nice no-frills smash-mouth style going. Even Gulak has technique to fall back on.
Dar I agree on. His style is "technical" but in the most bare-bones unimpressive way. A kick here, an arm-wring there, nothing that requires genuine skill or knowledge. It's as if he's trying to be Flair or DiBiase without any of the THICC to make it look like a viable fighting strategy.

That might be the problem Dar & Daivari both share, frankly. Cruiserweights are fun specifically because they have to impress people with their ability rather than their size. I remember a /wooo/ poster going off on Punk (and Bryan, until he re-evaluated a few posts later) because they didn't take enough "risks" to make up for their size disadvantage. You could put Neville, Aries, Jack, Gulak, put any of them with the big boys and they'd have certain advantages, but D&D wouldn't. Their offense isn't interesting, so they only work as foils to guys their own size.

Dragon Gate is currently in the middle of a "no new shows on GAORA" slump. Also, fart is currently in BxB Harumi's love chamber for the next couple of weeks. So the /dgkru/ green names will be hosting the tube until fart comes back.

This week, we are showing The Gate of Destiny from 2015 over at http://taima.tv/r/mondainightryu at 8pm (Eastern) or 12 am (for you on GMT). Come hang out and shoot the shit with your /dgkru/ friends.

>Dragon Gate’s period of wildness and unpredictability appears to have come to an end. The unit shuffle has settled down with Shingo Takagi in charge of VerserK, a unit backed by Open the Twin Gate Champions YAMATO and Naruki Doi, Kotoka, Naoki Tanizaki, Cyber Kong, and Mondai Ryu.

>Elsewhere, CIMA has rebounded from a year of disappointment as he has come together with the future of Dragon Gate to create Over Generation. T-Hawk has found a home with Monster Express and Jimmy Kness J.K.S. appears to be very happy with The Jimmyz.

>The main event of this show, Gate of Destiny 2015 is Masaaki Mochizuki vs. Shingo Takagi. These are the two greatest Dragon Gate wrestlers of all-time. Mochizuki has been in the Dragon System since its first year in 1999 and since then, he’s delivered a number of classics. His stiff kicks and unpredictable offense has made him a favorite of DG fans. Shingo Takagi, since debuting in 2004, has been delivering tremendous matches in Japan for Dragon Gate proper, in the States for Dragon Gate USA, and across the pond in Dragon Gate UK. These two last faced each other in 2012 in one of the crazier Dragon Gate matches in history, as after 15 minutes of sheer brutality, Takagi won by countout.

Here is the card for the show:

>U-T and Yosuke Santa Maria vs Shachihoko BOY and Super Shisa
>Over Generation (Eita, El Lindaman, and Kaito Ishida) vs Dia.Hearts (Kzy and Big R Shimizu) with Draztik Boy
>VerserK (Mondai Ryu and Cyber Kong) vs Over Generation (Takehiro Yamamura and Punch Tominaga)

Simmons was basically the Jack Swagger of the 90s, got a one-off run and was a midcarder any time before and after. There were also black world champions before him in other territories like Junkyard Dog in Mid-South.

Jacqueline was always the female jobber of WWE, the Alicia Fox of the Attitude Era, her grand moment was her tits popping out and making Sable's offense look passable.

At least Koko was marketable and had a memorable gimmick, much like Godfather or Rikishi.

Matt Riddle spoke with Sporting News on a number of wrestling topics. Here are some of the highlights:

Goldberg:

> "Bill Goldberg can't wrestle. That's it. He knows it. The fact that the guy is very bold and claims he does MMA training and I know that's bulls—. I saw him throw a knee on Rusev his first night back on Raw and he almost broke his hip when he fell on his back and they had him spear him and jackhammer him quick. His work in the ring — people always go it's Goldberg, he can have a one minute match or whatever. Yeah, it's one minute because he can't work more than one minute. If he works more than one minute, it could Botchamania, you know? Even with one minute, it's Botchamania almost. Let's be honest, if we get more than a one minute match from Bill Goldberg, it's gonna suck. So, I hope he only wrestles for one minute whether he wins or loses, whatever. He's never been my cup of tea. I don't like how he acts like he's a shoot-style guy. I hated it when he did commentary for Strikeforce in MMA because he's not a legit, credible character. He's an old man who hits a jackhammer and a spear. He can't even do a kimura. If Bill wants to go in the gym, there doesn't even have to be cameras, if he wants to roll and train and see what it's like to be in the ring with a real stallion, he can. Any day, any time. Bill Goldberg is a pro wrestler. I do sport wrestling. I'm a real fighter. I'm a real athlete. I'm a sport athlete. He did football then parlayed that into doing a spear and jackhammer and then WCW let him go 250-0 and he got over. Let me beat Hulk Hogan in one minute, clean, for the title and see how my stock rises. It doesn't matter who you put in that situation. It just so happens they take the guy that couldn't wrestle for over a minute or two. And he's responsible for ruining Bret Hart's career and others and I could go on. There's multiple reasons why I don't like Goldberg and, foremost, it's because he doesn't deserve it."

Wanting to wrestle Brock Lesnar:

> "I would have so much fun. I've actually dreamt about being in the ring with Brock and I don&…

Seriously the push he gives Brock at Survivor Series looks 10/10 lame. It looks like absolute trash because he's almost half the size of Lesnar. That whole match was stupid af. If it ends with a 1-3 minute Mania match then they brought Bill back to make himself look foolish, Brock too and Owens.

Absolute shit tier booking for what? A bump in viewers? Jesus wept.

That lasted a week or two. It was more to draw for a one-off at Survivor Series, then they decided to extend things to draw at the Rumble and Mania.

In all fairness, Goldberg is probably a legitimate reason why the Rumble drew as well as it did, but at the same time they had Brock & Taker on that card and Styles/Cena III to boot, plus the Rumble itself, so he hardly drew that much alone.

>Watch Britwres Tube at 4pm EDT / 8pm GMT in /wooo/tube - http://taima.tv/r/wooo

This week on Britwres Tube, it's the latest episode of World of Sport Wrestling, this week's Britwres documentary and WCPW Chain Reaction from last week with a huge main event between Cody Rhodes and Matt Riddle for the Internet Championship. Here's this week's lineup:

>World of Sport Wrestling episode 13

>Britwres documentary of the Week - #ThisIsWrestling:

'#ThisIsWrestling' follows British Professional Wrestler 'The Amazing' Matt Myers to find out more about life as a professional wrestler and what the professional wrestling industry is truly all about. Long has wrestling had this mystique surrounding it, 'is the action real?' and 'do the wrestlers get hurt?' are both questions that have been asked by outsiders time & time again. These are the questions that the creators of this documentary look to answer. Matt Myers shows us that being a professional wrestler is no easy task and just how much time, determination, perseverance and integrity are needed to fill the boots of somebody who wishes to walk in this strange but undoubtedly interesting profession.

>WCPW Chain Reaction:

*El Ligero vs. Penta El Zero M
*David Starr vs. Liam Slater
*Drake & James R. Kennedy vs. Prospect (Alex Gracie & Lucas Archer)

Riddle's at the point where him not selling shit is a gimmick.

Also last time Cody wrestled Riddle he at least got a 1-Count off Crossrhodes. This time Riddle just stood up and got the upper hand in the following sequence. Then very late in the match it got a nearfall.

So WWE has to rely on Part timers to get attention on the product but there's gonna be a time where Goldberg, Lesnar, Rock, Taker and even John Cena are not gonna be able to go anymore. and it makes you wonder what WWE will do when this happens.

Its obvious that Roman isnt a huge Marquee name for WWE, and they have a bad habit of chopping down superstars that get too over, or bad luck happens to them.

Do you think WWE could make another Marquee name, of are those days done and just upper midcarder's will fill the roster?

http://www.prowrestlingsheet.com/buyout-ring-honor-wwe/#.WNMVDxIrJE4?platform=hootsuite

>Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned WWE and Sinclair Broadcast Group have recently discussed a potential buyout of Ring of Honor in secret … this according to sources.

>Multiple sources with direct knowledge tell us the companies have been talking since January and things have been slowly progressing, with the plan being a full takeover if the deal is made official.

>This would include the weekly TV show beginning to air on the WWE Network. No word at this point on whether every wrestler on the roster would continue working in ROH if it happens.

>Keep in mind, there’s no actual deal on the table right now and discussions are simply that. This means the buyout could always fall through if both sides can’t agree on specifics.

>Case in point, WWE had discussions with TNA last year about a buyout that never came to fruition.

nothing set in stone but this should be absolutely delightful. please gather round as we all toast ROH and this truly hilarious development

Mintzs is best mod. Thanks for being a good human being m8.

Life really has a habit of fucking JR over. Out of all the carny fucks in his generation, he seems like the one who deserves it least. For once I actually expect WWE to treat this with the utmost respect, after JBL called out to them on commentary on Tuesday it seems like everyone in the back was hoping against hope for recovery. I really, really hope he can get through this, though I know from personal experience that it's going to be one hell of a hill to climb. I could definitely see WWE bringing him back into the fold if he wants to do that, to surround him with people who respect (well, the younger people in the back, anyway) and care about him, and I hope both of their families will come together and support him.

>At tonight's SmackDown Live, WWE announced to the live crowd that their next show in the state of Connecticut will be the return of the Bad Blood pay-per-view. It will be a RAW exclusive show, and it will take place on July 9th at the XL Center in Hartford, CT. This marks the first WWE pay-per-view to take place at the XL Center since Vengeance in 2004.

>The first Bad Blood pay-per-view took place on October 5, 1997, and marked the first-ever "Hell In A Cell" match, which saw Shawn Michaels defeat The Undertaker after Kane made his debut and interfered. There were two more Bad Blood pay-per-views - in 2003 and 2004 - which were RAW exclusive shows.

>No ticket information or pre-sale code was given for this year's Bad Blood.

WWE.com even did a retrospective thing on War Games matches. It was for sure planned at one point.

I'd like it if they brought back The Great American Bash just because the name is historically relevant. I feel like WWE would ruin Starrcade, though.

Was renaming Night of Champions to Clash of Champions supposed to be a reference to the old Clash of the Champions specials? Like is that canon? Or are they just ripping off the name?

WCW also had some brilliant ideas like having Malenko/Benoit wrestle a very technical match in front of that kind of crowd for about half an hour.

Busted Open Radio was the one, this what Hogan said
>HH: "Nah, he's not ready. He's not the next guy. Ya' know, they might think he is. Dixie Carter might think he is. The whole world might think he is. He's not the next guy. If I had to bet money on anybody and really be serious about betting money on anybody, I'd say Jeff Hardy is the next guy if he keeps his act together. Um, that's what you gotta to have, man. This is much more than being a wrestler, this is crossing barriers, medias, ya' know media barriers, and, and entertainment barriers of all kind. Getting your character down verbally has 90% to do with getting over. I just have a very strong feeling Kurt Angle's going to clean his clock performance wise, and carry the match, and basically remains the champion. He's training for the Olympics. He's had some up and down moments, and I think this is not gonna be a down moment for Kurt Angle, so I'm betting that farm on him."

The endings are still mixed bag: some good and some bad.

The botches itself are an improvement. Showing botches with vidya OST is what makes Botchamania great. No need for cutaway gags.

Is WWE softening how it feels about pornographic material with how the Paige issue is coming along ( ignore it and see if it dies down).
If it is.. then maybe we should do the same for Chyna? I'd argue he move into pornography was spurred by her leaked sextape as well..
