Russo Fears Cornette by Hallowicked - Wed, 21 Jun 2017 22:44:40 EST ID:ySSUpuXf No.5771584 Ignore Report Reply Quick Reply
File: 1498099480756.jpg -(51434B / 50.23KB, 480x653) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size. 51434
>Former WCW and WWE writer Vince Russo filed an order of protection against Jim Cornette on 6/16 at the Posey County Superior Court in the State of Indiana, alleging that he had been a "victim of stalking" by Cornette. The order alleges that Cornette has been stalking and harassing Russo since October 1999, across several States.

>Russo listed the alleged incident of stalking and harassment as being the 6/15 episode of Cornette's podcast where Cornette promised that he had a "gift" for Russo. The two had been, as covered here on PWInsider, exchanging quite a bit of venom online lately

>The order listed current WWE Performance Center Coach Terry Taylor and "the public audiene" (spelled incorrectly by Russo, who had filled out the order by hand) as witnesses. Taylor was an executive with TNA Wrestling (now Impact) when he forwarded an email from Cornette to Russo showing that Cornette noted that he dreamt of killing in Russo in his dreams. The order also alleged that Russo was "publically" (sic) threatened.

>Cornette was served with the order by local police at his home this evening in Louisville, Kentucky. He was ordered to stay away from Russo, his wife Ann, Russo's home and Russo's place of employment. Cornette had been alleging on his podcast that Russo was in fact unemployed. The order did not specify the location of Russo's employment.

>Watch in http://taima.tv/r/mondainightryu at 8 pm Eastern / 1 am UK

On this week's installment of DG Tube, we will be having the second to last screening of the King of Gate tournament, which features the heavily butchered tapings from Sapporo from the end of May. Then after that is a Prime Zone to close. Next week we have a new Infinity airing and then the week after that is a Korakuen so we'll be moving over to fresh content pretty soon just in time for us to go back to old shit. Here's the lineup:

8 pm Eastern / 1 am UK: Dragon Gate Infinity, Sapporo (5/26, 5/27, 5/28)

>King of Gate C Block Match: Ryo "Jimmy" Saito vs Naruki Doi
>King of Gate B Block Match (trimmed): Yosuke Santa Maria vs Kzy
>King of Gate D Block Match (trimmed): El Lindaman vs BxB Hulk
>King of Gate A Block Match: Dragon Kid vs YAMATO
>King of Gate C Block Match: Genki Horiguchi H.A.Gee.Mee!! vs Shingo Takagi
>King of Gate A Block Match (trimmed): Don Fujii vs Eita
>King of Gate B Block Match (trimmed): T-Hawk vs Gamma
>King of Gate C Block Match: Ryo "Jimmy" Saito vs CIMA

Yeah I watched that during the brief time it was on. It wasn't good or anything but I'd call it amateurish more than actively bad most of the time. Roster was really terrible though, Caleb Konley should never be the best worker on a wrestling show.

Really good question.

Normally I'd say my most hated time watching wrestling was Nitro 2000/01. BUT That's because I actually watched the show as I had nothing else better to do as a kid.

However stuff like, most of the ECW reboot and Hogan/Bischoff Impact on forward, I couldn't even stand to continue watching. Gameshow NXT, all seasons imo, was fucking unbearable. I watched a show or two and couldn't do it any more. I'd try each new crew they got and just couldn't.

I don't really care about PPVs which I prefer watching in /woo/tube, but the ability to watch Royal Rumble '01 or the Nitro from August 12th 1997 etc. in 720p or better at any time I want is what makes me feel like the Network is worth it. I haven't heard anything about any new DVDs or anything which makes me feel like they just gave up and are putting everything on the Network.

How extensive is the on-demand section of the Network, are the shows on-demand actually significant, and what is the quality of the playback feature on PC? (480p, 720p etc.)

WWE's rewritten history of The Monday Night Wars and other promotions don't count as "insider."

IMO, WWE Network's library is big, but there's no context whatsoever. You can watch any PPV, tons of Raws, Smackdowns, Nitros, etc, but to me, it means shit all without any context. Personally, I'm not going to pick a random PPV without understanding any of the build up or storlylines. WWE Network needs to invest in more original programming and documentaries, not just being a library of arbitrary shows.

You don't really think WWE is going to give Joe the win over Brock Lesnar when it already has both a Samoan on the roster who has his own history with Lesnar and a "passing the torch" moment lined up, do you? Brock has the belt because WWE has plans - far off and vague plans, but plans nonetheless - to book Reigns as the man who stops Brock's current run as champ. Unless the company decided to make it a SummerSlam thing because it didn't feel like waiting another half-year, Reigns vs Lesnar will happen at next year's WrestleMania and Reigns will win.

Why was WWE so determined to split them up in the Attitude Era?

I was listening to their podcast and Christian talked about being backstage hours before No Mercy 1999 started and they were told that there were three possible finishes they were going with that night for the famous tag team ladder match: !. E&C winning, 2. Christian turning on Edge and costing him the match, and 3. The Hardys winning. And it's been said before that Vince was 100% going to have them break up at Wrestlemania 2000 until they managed to get the company to let them show off how entertaining they could be on commentary on the go-home Raw before that Wrestlemania. And as we all know the split finally did happen in 2001.

So were Vince and co. really just that high on the idea of Edge as this big babyface singles star all the way back then? It seems kinda crazy to think now that the company came so close to stopping them from actually being able to prosper as a team, considering they would go on to win the Tag Team Titles 7 times (in one year too) and now they're heralded as one of the greatest tag teams ever (doesn't WWE themselves put them right behind LOD on their lists for greatest teams?).

I mean, gosh, imagine if they had split them up in 1999...
What would their careers have even ended up like? And what happens with tag team wrestling in WWE? The TLC match would have never existed...

Yeah get back into LU, we're like 20 or so eps into season 3.

TNA is a pretty cool place right now despite having another big talent exodus recently.

If you watch anything WWE watch 205 Live at least, somehow has better booking than most of the rest of WWE at any given time, I like SD now too though it might not be everyone's cup of tea with some of the wacky booking going on.

I like AAA now too, I really got into it and despite the language barrier it's pretty easy to follow what's going on, helps that it's LU's sister company basically.

Personally at this point old wrestling counts as a current promotion to follow too so I'm watching MNW shows in http://taima.tv/r/mnw

Does anyone even comprehend the level of thought Meltzer put into these Observer Awards they make absolutely no sense

And before you get all "They're decided over at the people at the Observer building" All I wanna know is why does Meltzer have multiple catagories that seem identicial to just good wrestlers but nothing for "Worst Wrestler of the Year"

Worst babyface Worst Heel how does one decide on only one?

Only problem I have with the Observer Awards is combining MMA and Pro Wrestling in categories.

MMA feuds and wrestling feuds are very different in nature. A wrestling feud's outcomes are worked and actions between the performers are entirely scripted. While it's possible (even likely) that some of the interaction between MMA fighters is scripted generally it happens spontaneously and the outcomes of fights are not predetermined.
