Wow, seeing Garfield directly under the words "Star Trek" jarred the shit out of the old memory, and as soon as I found this pic I could vividly remember watching the segment as a little kid.

As comic strips C&H is in a differently league than Garfield, but yeah Garfield and Friends was great.

The Catillac Cats was the most international cartoon to be tacked on to a cartoon show about an orange cat.

This is a very well done parody. There had to be some real Trek fans on the Garfield and Friends staff. The US Acres characters' personalities are good matches for the TOS crew, and their aesthetics are blended together great. Using the Garfield phone as a communicator was cute, and it hits all the essential Trek cliches everbody on Earth knows in a nice little 5 minute diversion. Beats the hell outta Disco I'll tell ya that much.

I must be genetically different then, I tried watching the original but there was too much gender politics in it for me, personally.

It's called being born after 9/11 and it affects more and more people every year. Researchers are looking for ways to put an end to this, but it's reached epidemic proportions.

>too much gender politics
What does this term even mean? I've seen everyone on the internet argue about it but I still have zero grasp of what it means. If anything I'd say Trek is more about ethics than politics

It's a show, you green-blooded... Vulcan. You watch it. The gender politics aren't important. What's important is that you have a good time watching it.

In this case I meant that the show had some weird split brains, imho. It would talk about acceptance, tolerance and in a few scenes chastise people for not sticking to gender norms, or just talking about them. There's even a whole episode dedicated to penis envy (end of season 3).

I got The Complete Calvin and Hobbes, it's the GOAT comic.

>>66071
Yes it was.

I remember watching Garfield and Friends reruns on Nickelodeon and I had no idea US Acres did a parody of Star Trek. That's pretty clever.
