I'm not sure this is a good idea. A comedy Trek cartoon made by the Rick & Morty guy?
Wasn't market saturation one of the things people claim killed off the franchise last time?

Just in fucking time for Halloween. Trek's dead. Accept more of this zombie shit at your own risk, you ghouls. Chances are you're already shamblng alongside the reanimated corpses of the franchises you once loved having missed the opportunity to put a bullet in their fucking skulls and end the nightmare. This show's gonna be a pile of shit and the only joy I get from this announcement is anticipating reading about how high they stacked it.

I can't feel any real excitement about it. There's one thing I want from Trek: A new show, with a new crew, on a new adventure. None of this half-assed shit with dragging out old characters, prequel settings, whatnot, all just trying to get another jolt of energy out of Trek nostalgia (or imagined nostalgia, in people who think Kirk and Spock are cool, but never watched TOS).

I don't really give a damn to see all the jokes we've been making since we first watched Trek in an animated show. The guy who cleans the holodeck mops up jizz, and O'Brien spent most of his time standing in an empty room without needing to. We've been over this, and cheap animation isn't going to add a lot to it. It's going to have to be really, really good to have any appeal for me.

Makes me wonder when it'll be set, too. There are no less than 4 distinct Trek settings, at this point. TOS, TNG era, ENT, and DIS.

I would be on board for another shot for a Star Trek cartoon. But the fact that it's gonna be comedy focused I know full well it's gonna suck. The fact that the people behind Rick and Morty is gonna be behind it gives me even less hope, considering how both series are like dramatically the opposite of each other in a lot of ways.

Expect lots of ironic, winking to the audience humor that hasn't worn out its welcome. I hate this.

Well it's over guys, it's been fun. But it's dead. Star trek us now in the same category as Flash Gordon. A weird sci-fi footnote in history that just seems awkward and weird now. Sci-fi is pretty much dead too. Just kill me and rape the fucking corpse.

It's amazing how fast this has all gone downhill. It seems like yesterday I was salivating over the prospect of a new Trek series, and now I'm completely disenfranchised. Star Trek, of all fucking things, is in my mental "Stuff I Used to Like" file, no doubt getting wedgies from my late 90s pro wrestling fandom.

Discovery, 15 Episodes 8-8.5 million each, that's only one movie being made. 3 trek movies or an entire series?
Also, trek is seen as more U.S (like we were saying in the other thread), so pressure on the domestic market is like an ad campaign for the world.

It looks like Trek is now at the point where it's ready to just be squeezed and drained for all it's worth while it can be, without any care for people who were fans before Discovery, until it's dried up and fucking rotting in the alley like a gay jolly african-american.

Just like Discovery is a more poorly executed version of what Battle of Axanar was going to be

Wonder what PicardTrek will be a ripoff of? I'm doubtful these folks still retain the ability to actually create something new

No problem, bud. I'm glad you guys are enjoying the releases. The last one has a ton of great shit. Still looking for a damn place to upload the other installments which are ready now. I don't really want to do SFTP.

How would you guys feel about a private torrent? Tracker free just hosted by me. I have 10gbps symmetrical and can seed 24/7 so you would be able to get it quick even if I was the only seeder, other people could seed if they wanted, and people could pick and choose what they want to download as well. Just not sure if that is kosher. The mods have been very kind about my previous uploads. I don't want to overstep but I'd like to make the complete collection available to everyone here and its damn large when you consider the comics, books, fan films and shows, extras, scores, documentaries, interviews, pics, articles, spoofs, ads, PSAs, site rips etc so a private .torrent file would be perfect.
