You know to be honest I've tried watching Doctor Who and I found only one aspect of it compelling.. the Daleks. Other than that it felt like you threw the worst and weirdest TOS, ENT and VOY episodes in a blender with some generic sci fi leftovers and then you left that out in the sun a while. That's what it felt like to me. And apparently the parts of watched are way better than the current incarnations. That's just sad because it never really was all that great. Nigga I ain't kidding I think J.A.G. might be a more interesting show. Ouch. That hurts me to even say.

The show started going downhill after Ecclestone left. After that there were a handful of good episodes in Series 2 and 3 but the show got repetitive and also obsessed with doing metaplot arcs. I don't know enough about pre-reboot Doctor Who to comment on that but what I've seen of it is pretty good.

Wrong.

New Who is almost entirely trash.
But New New Who is especially trash. And no it's not her vagina's fault. Unless by "her vagina" you mean this dipshit, pictured as part of the Doctor Who fan club, criticizing either the best motherfucking showrunner the show has ever had, or Jon Nathan Turner, in which case I completely agree with him.

And they actually gave this asshole showrunner, and he completely fucked it up because he has no idea what makes Doctor Who good. Fucking nerd.

To quote the young Chibnall: It was very much what the audience was expecting, it wasn't very challenging to watch.

Except the original incarnation is the only one that holds true to the concept. Actually I think that's the second one, but I know for a fact it's the last one where they appeared this way.

Cybermen were originally inspired by experimental heart transplants. The what-if that followed was ALL ORGANS plus the lower functions of the brain and just enough of the higher functions to make them robotic while retaining the capacity to be absolutely maniacal.

So the original incarnations were dudes in surgical bandages with salad bowls and some conduits on the top of their heads, plugged into a big life support pack.
The later incarnations are squishy inside/metal outside. Which actually makes sense as an evolutionary step. What doesn't make sense about the later versions is that their secret weakness is gold. For some reason, because gold is "incorruptible" in that it doesn't corrode and cybermen are a corruption of humanity, shooting them with gold FUCKING KILLS THEM, instead of plating them with a veneer of sheer fabulousness.
While that whole thing is thematically all there.... Logically?

I enjoyed the Eccleston and Tenant seasons, and the first season of Matt Smith but it got kinda weird from there and I lost track.

I watched like one serial of the 2nd doctor when it was in black and white. It had its charm. I tried getting into the later seasons but it was eh.

I've done that. You look back months later and think, "wow this guy really know what he's talking about." Maybe you reply to him. Maybe you don't. Maybe you realize that he's actually you and delete your post at the last second.

What if we're all just Guinan?

yes, the viewer can't tolerate the same thing been written over, I think around the 4-year mark. You could write more specific aspects of it, similarities like mutiple universes.

Ackchyually, The Doctor is more important to Federation history than the USS Discovery. He gave the Borg the push they needed to study time travel, and we all know how that worked out.

The TNG/Xmen crossover exists simply to have Prof. X and Picard meet the same way the TOS and Xmen one only existed to make someone ask for Dr. McCoy and have both Beast and Dr. McCoy react to it.

They still do crossovers, actually. They just don't credit or pay the people behind the other IP.
