If he let you traverse his backyard (like feeling the back of the mind for him) then a constant magnetic variance between points occurs and peoples thoughts interlude with his, and if it were only savage life forms who never follow their own rules then it causes issues on an expanding spectrum by going subsciously through him to the point of controverting him to an area out of control.

Writing good sci-fi is hard so the tng writers room often got lazy and added god-like omnipotent forces to add conflict.

Not the first fantasy trope shoehorned in ST, not the last, but mosdef a favourite of religious and right wing people (they don't usually like to read so trickster figures like tom bombadil, hermes, zeus, pĂcaro, arlecchino or the eshu are new and exciting to them).

The first Q was that guy in TOS 'squire of gothos'
The idea is that they live outside the universe where there isn't time and can manipulate it like it's a play model for them.

They've been using god-like characters since TOS and the use of these characters does not mean its bad writing or laziness. It can but it doesn't always.

Zeus being "new" to anyone born in the last 3000 years, especially in the West, is a ridiculous statement to make.

As for the rest, its not even worth addressing.

Q inspired the Peter David novel that retroactively modified Trelane, like when Discovery retroactively added a half human sister to Spock. I respect your headcannon but it is explicitly non-cannon to the rest of us,

It is often heavily implied that Q are the result of some natural convergence. After some amount of progress any species or individual caps out at exactly that point.
Meaning independent of their origin after some progress anyone becomes the same kind of thing.
Of course the writers won't spelled that out cuz it would give the trek universe a relatively dreadful perspective.

Hi I'm back, let me answer it for you. God's mind goes through space, and if people are traveling through space then they on a trajectory a little more distant then the connecting universal forces can play a higher magnitude on both parties.

Alright, Bucko, Im willing to entertain the idea, BUT maybe some examples/sources for that so people know it is actually a thing in ST proper and not just some extended universe, non-canonical John DeLancie's fever dream?

Q being the kind of entity that he is, capable of moving through reality and time etc. He's probably been into the future to see what far distant humanity is like, (he appears to infer as much when he first appears in voyager at least), so from his perspective, he knows that human beings are going to be ascendant in the future. So he goes "back in time" to test them to get a better sense of what they were to gain a sense of what they are in the future.
