Fuck you this most recent episode of Picard was S tier. Totally captured the morality play wrapped in a cool sci-fi story feel that the best eps of TNG had.

Except it didn't. Go ahead an write a summary of how it did what you said, put it in spoiler tags if you think that's necessary. But you won't, because you didn't watch it and CBS doesn't pay you enough to get that detailed in your shilling. No bump, waste of electricity.

No one will watch it anyway and I'm on mobile so spoiler tags are a pain in the ass. Here you go:
>Nuanced debate relevant to contemporary issues like illegal immigration
>Dr. Soong says that people are idiots and need to be injected with his concoction to move humanity forward
>Soong breaking international law to save his daughter
>Q allying with Soong because Q lost his powers
>Picard allying with the Borg Queen because Q moved Picard and crew to an alternate reality (a dark future)
>Borg Queen preying on the intrinsic loneliness of humans
>Plenty of humor
>Plenty of action
>Brent Spiner & Patrick Stewart haven't gotten any worse at acting and are still the stars of the show

And a bonus to address the latest juvenile whinging:

>Stand-alone episodes woven together in an overarching narrative a la Cowboy Bebop; e.g. one ep has the crew in an alternate fascist future, next ep they're in contemporary America with practically no reference to the previous ep, but they are still working towards the ultimate goal of beating Q at his game

>Plenty of action

That is the problem. Picard is not an action hero, he's a negotiator and a diplomat.

Since All Good Things, what the fuck has he negotiated beyond convincing Ben Sisko to remain in command of DS9? Even when they tried to return to character in Insurrection he resorted to violence.

Sir Patrick needs to leave the franchise, and Kurtzman needs to stop enabling non-fans like yourself.

But that's wrong, you retard. Picard doesn't participt in any of the action sequences. He is still the level-headed albeit passionate diplomat he was in TNG. It's all the other characters (no, not Dr. Soong either you idiot) who do participate in the action sequences. Source: I actually watched the goddamn show and didn't get 100% of my opinions from youtubers

Answer me this: if I provided a site to pirate it, why are you all still so afraid of me being right about Picard actually not being that bad? What do you have to lose except for 40 minutes?

Picard is supposed to be the talky side of Kirk, and Riker is supposed to be the punchy side of Kirk, but they both do both and they always have. In Picard he's an ancient old man in surprisingly good health, so he's *involved* in some of the action, but he still solves his problems by talking to them.

Season 1 was unnecessarily depressing because it's about everyone blaming Picard for everything, that's my main issue. It almost seems intentional because it's so forced, everyone blames Picard for everything. They blame him for helping, they blame him for not helping, they blame him for being in Star Fleet, they blame him for leaving Star Fleet, it's just dumb. Like, someone gets fired for helping Picard snoop around, and we're supposed to believe he hasn't checked up on her in 10 years? It's just dumb, in TNG the pathos felt tragic because it came from basic human problems combined with irreconcilable differences in perspective, there was a TON of angst in TNG but it never felt forced, it was never this dumb.

I still liked season 1 a lot though, I'd be watching season 2 if I could stomach that many ads, but season 1 used up my tolerance for the year so I'm catching up on DS9.

>Sir Patrick needs to leave the franchise, and Kurtzman needs to stop enabling non-fans like yourself.

It wasn't for no reason, he knew the enthusiastic samurai was following him and he wanted to draw him out. I think that's a real cunt move but it's something Picard would do. And he didn't pick a fight with any specific Romulan, he just kicked over a "no humans" sign and demanded to be served, which is even MORESO something that Picard would do. Are you sure that you've actually seen this show?

It was dumb because Picard was supposed to be on a mission, and he was surrounded by people who were reluctantly trusting his word as to the importance of that mission, it didn't make sense for him to stop there in the first place, and if he's GOING to stop there (justifying it as "recruiting some muscle") then he shouldn't be causing trouble on purpose. One holy quest at a time please.

I do love that enthusiastic Romulan samurai, but he only exists so that Picard can abandon him repeatedly. Almost like the whole plot was contrived to be about people blaming Picard.

Between TNG, VOY, and STP2, i'd say STP2 ruined the Borg the most. At least TNG just ruined one borg rather than the whole collective, and showed the consequences of pulling someone out of the collective was like trying to get someone off of heroin. Then First Contact came with the idea of a female borg running everything, but I was okay with this as they were trying to find a way to turn Data by making him "more" human, and she tried to play Picard and Data off each other like a minx.

Then VOY came along. Didn't ruin the borg as much as overused them, and brought in a stuipider worse enemy that came from "fluidic space".

But holy shit STP2? They literally resolved the borg conflict by asking the queen to only assimilate people who consent to it. jesus fucking shit.

Obviously you're just glossing over all the rich nuance this show is known for. It makes total sense for Seven to hate the borg and want to kill them, because I've you're borg you can never go back.

Seven, STP2
>complains Starfleet never accepted her application because she was borg
this screen shot, STP1
>Icheb is literally wearing a Starfleet com badge while dying.

I was busting my gut when Rich from RLM pointed out why did Picard go into a coma when he got hit by a car when his entire body is that of a robot. And why would they take him to a hospital if he has a robot body.

Honestly you could just watch episode 1 and 10, and cut off and pick up from where the borg was invading the ship. Everything in-between is a waste of time and fake drama despite all the red shirts dying around them.

What an absolutely dogshit show.

BY far the worst season of any Star Trek show to date.

Wil Wheaton looks like they opened the door to the Ready Room set and said "C'mon Wil, we need you for a scene. The dude's acting was atrocious and they wasted too much precious screen time on Kore.

I just got into this show recently so I will refrain from reading the thread so I don't get spoiled

I gotta say the acting is pretty disappointing compared to TNG (minus the first two seasons which were terrible) Been enjoying the show purely for nostalgias sake. Hopefully it's jam packed with it, because it seems to be the best quality.
