We used to be able to post YouTube links on /b/. Like when you found some interesting video or to serve as an example for a topic to discuss it with 420chan friends. Now it seems that any YouTube link is an automatic “2 week ban” which really is a permanent ban from all boards with no warning.

Seems a little extreme to anyone?

if you want to advertise your youtube channel, buy a banner

if your youtube video isn't too long and you give enough of a shit, download the video, make a webm and post it in the webm thread. (If its bannable material, it'll get taken down, and you'll be banned)

if you don't give enough of a shit to do either, don't post the youtube link

Yeah pretty much. If you care about adding content to the board then host it on the board. If it's your own video you obviously already have said video available to be webm'd. OP's with YouTube links generally have no other posts on the site, or there is no content in their post other than the link to the video, and shit like that is gonna get the thread deleted.

Personally I feel like if it's someone elses video but you want to discuss it, and you have some sort of contribution included in your OP, conversation-wise, I'm not gonna delete it.

Go to one of the sync tubes to post youtube links. That's literally what they're for.

OP is correct. I recall being able to post a youtube link. I recall threads just for youtube. Mods are fags. Truth.

Well like the other guy said, that's literally what Taima TV is for. And we have webm threads now, too.

I like you too much for you to be banning mfer over simply posting a YouTube link. Don’t do that. Remember, a lot of us are posting from phones and tables. We don’t have the memory, processing, or time capabilities to turn every video we think is near into a webm.

I wouldn't ban anyone over simply posting a YT vid, unless it's like actual spam. But like I said in my first post, if there's no contribution to the board other than a YT link, and especially if there's no previous post history from that poster, it's very likely that it will get deleted.

Also, again, Taima TV. But no, I'm not just going to go around banning people over that.

I was there the whole time but Idk why you're getting defensive because I'm not gonna fuckin ban you about it. I don't see anything inherently wrong with a YouTube thread. Just an OP trying to get views or spread spam us the only thing that's an issue. That's all I'm sayin.
