The Sandman is undoubtedly one of the greatest comics that I've ever read. I'm on issue 55 right now and I've enjoyed everything so far. Gaiman is an excellent writer and the art is just beautiful.

I'm reading the versions with original art btw, which I've been told are better.

Liked this a lot. My step brother got it as a birthday present but didn't get round to reading it. I picked it up out of curiosity and read that bitch. It was a long time ago and I should probably read it again.

I enjoyed WE3 quite a lot. They characterised the animals well, sympathetic but not human.

I can't remember the name of it, but this comic I read recently was primarily about a future wherein space travel was a thing, and robotic implants were so common people without them were seen as weird, like a foreign religion or something. This guy found his brother, who was strung out on space drugs and took him to another planet despite (or possibly because of) his lack of implants. Strange, evolution based adventures ensued. Bizarre and well drawn, very out of the ordinary.

Also there was a talking robotic ape.

currently reading Gaston again.
Its a shame the rereleases have been translated in a weird and wrong way.

Downloaded the originals as cbr and hope for a rerelease in hardcover with the correct translations this time!

Most of the gags are visual though. Reading the original might even help you learn the language.

Will Eisner, mostly the Tenement stories.
Hal Foster Prince Valiant
Alex Raymond Flash Gordon
Gaiman's Sandman
The bros los Hernandez
Carl Barks /Don Rosa Scrooge McDuck
Steve Gerber Howard The Duck
Cadillacs and Dinosaurs

There's a few top-tier manga I'd list with these, but they're outside the purview of this board, so I'll just mention MW, Barefoot Gen, Lone Wolf and Cub, and Domu.

Do V For Vendetta and Jack Kirby's New Gods count as capeshit?

Recently got volume 1 and 2 and read the first one. I really like the story so far but the visual story telling is a bit rough at times, especially when there's some action going on. It seems like they "skip" some panels which make some of the climatic moments feel a bit rushed.
