Snob's top ten anime aren't that great, if we go over the list he constructed in his Squeeze videos. Legend of the Galactic Heroes has bad characters and a plot full of nonsense
The Tatami Galaxy is repetitive, it's plot is based on a plot contrivance that stops any sort of development because the characters get amnesia every time it happens.

The setting in Neon Genesis doesn't make any sense (with Misato procuring a giant gun out of nowhere or cloning a half-human half-angel being a thing), it's full of fanservice, and it has too light a mood in the mid episodes.

FMA Brotherhood has pretty bad characters, plot armour, people stopping to cry at every corner, a slow as hell pacing (though not as bad as in LoGH), shock factor (like the time the girl and dog are fused), and a deus ex machine ending (with the little brother being saved an all).

Welcome to the NHK has characters who don't act like humans at all. They are retarded in the same way that the cast of Flowers of Evil is.

Ghost in the Shell is lifeless, has rather bad characters, and too short a run time.

Kaiba wastes half its run time on episodic nonsense, has convenient amnesia, asspuls left and right, a mystery that reveals itself, and an ending and setting that don't make the least bit of sense.

Serial Experiments Lain is the greatest anime of all time, so it's fine.

Area 88 has a pretty bad villain but is otherwise OK.

Haibane Renmei has too much ambiguity at too many points (like the problem of the MC being solved by a raven that comes out of nowhere for some reason that's not specified) and no stakes.
