Hi all,

What's a good routine for cardio I can do in my room with minimal equipment? Bonus points for not making too much noise (no jumping jacks, etc)

Dunno about cardio, but planks, pushups, and squats can all be done ptetty silently. Same with pullups if you're willing to get one of those pull up bars that you put in your doorframe.

This. This stuff is super great and is also very demanding if you do them without taking breaks.
Throw in bridges too. Try practicing horse stance, it's like planks for your legs. Do that stuff a few times and you'll find yourself pretty out of breath.

If you're a fatty who can't admit he needs to lose weight and wants people to think he's sitting in his room when he's really doing the craziest calorie-burning exercise in the world, well, OP, no, don't do that. Cutting calories is much more important. Just pretend to eat a lot or something.

If you still have other secret reasons, well, have you tried dancing? Subtle steps, but wave your body around like a madman. I find myself out of breath and sweating when I'm silently dancing on dissociatives like a crazy guy in the pitch dark.

Otherwise, http://greatist.com/fitness/cardio-bodyweight-exercises

here's one example of things to do. Google it too. Like try googling "stationary cardio" or something

Just an update, I found a gym very close to where I'm living that is very cheap, so I started there a few weeks ago. I'm lifting 3 days a week and doing cardio 3 days a week. I'm doing squats, bench, deads, assisted chins, bent over rows, overhead press.

Today I did a sub-10 minute mile which may not seem like much but for someone who has not run in years, it feels good man.

I'm also counting calories and protein. I've been able to get 135+ grams a day in with the help of whey, and I've been keeping my calories down to around 1300-1500 calories a day. Honestly it makes lifting tough but I just take it slow and do my best.

The biggest problem I'm having now is with assisted chins. I'm at -40 and the next step up is -25 but that's way too tough for me right now. I'm thinking of moving to lat pull downs as I can up the weight more gradually.

My advice is do both. Start doing lat pull downs as well. It'll encourage more progress and give you that more granular adjustment. Essentially it's what worked for me.

this may sound retarded, but place a weight on the platform your knees go onto so when you're @ -40, you can be -30 if you place 10lbs onto it.

Another update. Today I did multiple unassisted pull ups. I've lost about 4 kg and my lifts are still progressing. Running is my greatest weakness right now.

Thanks for all the advice and support, guys.
