5'8 190lbs, 25y/o, male
Wanna get down to 150 or some shit over the summer.

Best methods?

Thought of oral amphetamines, but might be doing some job seeking soon.

1200 cal diet?

Need to get my bike put back together after beating it to shit last years rides. But how much biking would I need to burn that?

try a low-calorie, high-protein, low-glycemic-index diet.
Eat a lot of chicken and hummus.
Try weightlifting like every other day and cardio every day.

it's important you go for the low-glycemic foods because the way they metabolize is incredible for weight-loss, even though they're carbs. It practically burns more calories than it stores.

I'd say start every day with a quality protein shake. The nutrients in those help all around the board, besides just giving you protein. Probiotics you add to the protein shake would also benefit you; they've been shown to help with weight loss, even though all they do is help your guts stay healthy. But also, maybe get some ab-cuts or something like that. I'm talking about extremely-concentrated fats/oils in pill form. If your body gets all the really rare and essential fats it needs, especially the fats that your brain needs, you'll gear your body to crave/store less fat.

And don't forget this;
muscle-soreness is essentially the same as cardio exercise in terms of calorie burning. Muscular growth/repair burns a ton of calories while you rest. Like if you got in a great weight lifting session, you'd probably burn an extra like 500 calories over the next 2 days just being stationary.

Yeah, I should count cals better. To be truthful if I lived alone I'd be rail thin from being cheap to buy food.

Will give it a try.

low GI foods don't do that.
Its insulin spike now versus insulin spike later.

the only way to lose weight is to intake less energy than you expend.

No, that's not how it works at all.
There is no insulin spike. We're talking about a slow, constant energy feed. We're talking about higher levels of satiation throughout the day as well as higher levels of energy for multiple hours. Even if you don't take advantage of this, your body will.

I'm just tired of this 'less in, more out' one-size-fits-all approach to fitness.
Because, let's be real here, none of us are actually trying to 'lose weight'. That's a mistake.
What we're all really trying to do is convert fat cells into muscles. If OP is 180 pounds now and has a beer belly and then in a year from now he's 180 pounds of ripped muscle, he didn't lose any weight, yet he achieved all his goals.

I come back to this board after years of working as a trainer, physical therapist, and competative weightlifter and powerlifter and cannot tell if people are trolling anymore.

youre entire post is wrong and you should feel bad.

losing weight means losing fat.

Of course gaining muscle is the goal.

this doesn't debunk the idea that eating at a caloric deficit allows for weight loss.

Just stop.

I weigh 240 don't feed bad op. I'm literally musclebound now with no steroids.

sucks when your shoulders and biceps are so big you can't wrap your hands behind your neck to put your collar down easily.

idk how healthy it is, but the way I lost a lot of weight really quickly and painlessly, was by eating canned mixed vegetables.
They are only about ~300 calories a can, and are rather filling. Put in some salt (although it is already high in sodium, like I said, idk how healthy this is) and hot sauce, and it's pretty decent.
I lost about 70 pounds in just few months, no exercise or anything, just counting calories, and my secret weapon of mixed veggies.

Now, if you are truly unable to satiate your hunger and stay under calorie, just do cans of green beans. Those things are only like 90 calories a can, you can seriously just fill yourself up on that. However, this is also like hardmode, because after awhile, I would feel so hungry, even kinda like hunger pangs in my stomach, but it was still difficult for me to swallow down more green beans because I had already eaten so much of them. I think the issue is that my body was having cravings for something not in beans, like carbs or sugar or something.

Intermittent fasting. I started January 5 at 198, I'm at 190 now. Go at least 20 hours off and 4 on. I got mine down to eating one meal in 30 minutes and fasting the rest of the day. I can cram in up to 3000 clean calories if I want to, but I get pretty full on 2000, and still lose a lot of weight. I usually eat a couple hours before I train as well. On days I don't train, I eat a little bit lighter and less carb.

Also, you can eat carbs. You just have to do whole unprocessed carbs like brown rice, sweet potato, fresh fruit, water-based oatmeala.

What best worked for me was a very low carb and a high protein/fat diet. A 'ketogenic diet', you can still eat plenty quantity wise which means you don't feel hungry so it's easier to stick to the diet. Meats, fish, dairy (cheese, eggs, etc), nuts etc.

Be careful with amphet, it will drastically stop you eating but unless you're taking it regularly (which might lead to addiction/mental illness) you will get rebound hunger when you stop using it, and it may interrupt your sleep. Ephedrine is a more gentle stimulant, it can be taken safely and regularly at low doses, with good appetite suppression and can increase focus on exercising/doing stuff, and it won't keep you awake all night if taken no later than 5/6pm ish.

my experience with amphetamines (adderal) was that my appetite and eating habbits were out of control when i took myself off them and i gained a ton of weight.

Some honest advice from someone who lost 40 pounds over the course of 2.5 months about a year ago.

Do not eat less than 1300 calories a day. You will not get enough protein and fiber, let alone the vitamins you need from food to survive.

Eat lots of fiber. Half of your calories should be something that is a plant to get enough fiber. You also want to get at least 100 grams of protein a day.

Your best friends are going to be a vegetable called Lentils and a type of filtered yogurt called plain, non-fat greek yogurt.

Do cardio 3 times a week. Start out with this. Keep it like this for at least 3 weeks. Eventually you can do more, but you do not want to injure yourself, get mentally burnt out, or be too tired to challenge yourself.

Distance running is great for weight loss.

As for drugs, don't drink any alcohol and don't eat junk food if you smoke pot or take opiates or something.
