But I love delicious creamy chocolates! Can't we just feed Lindor balls to the orangutans?

That's ok.

I'm sure humanity has about 50 years left anyway.

yet another reminder that the rich are literally vermin, thus hunting them down is ethical

The precise disastrousness of this quagmire needs to be inquired into with no hesitation:

How efficiently and appetisingly would chocolate with lard work? Coconut oil? Seal oil? Waterfowl fat?

Maybe you'd use cocoa butter? Palm oil is only used in cheaper chocolates. I think quite a few nut oils and stuff would work okay. Not quite as well but palm oil chocolate is not stuff that lives and dies by the quality of the ingredients anyway.

Oh, yeah, there are a lot of useable ones. Like shea butter. Or PGPR for endless shelf life. I didn't even know there's such a thing as mango oil, from the kernel, I guess the issue with that is how well mango meat can be preserved/distributed with the kernel removed.

In any case, palm oil rings more of a bell with margarine. It's also used for biodiesel.

Still, it seems like an important question whether substituted chocolae would work better if a small amount of lart or schmaltz in the oil combination was an option. Oh, and the most common such thing seems to be Nutella and its competitors and their generic versions.

What if we just stopped eating beef, and had the Brazillians grow loads of oil palms on some of all that land required for that beef?

We need to start ethically sourcing all palm and consider veganism to stop cattle farming which is detrimental
