No reference. Started as a a circle for the boob, and a wavey line for the back, then I built everything on top of it. Many haphazard lines because I'm not sure what I'm doing. Like an infant trying to throw a punch and wobbling.

This is what it was before I said "Nah, this isn't done..."

I will, I like furries and tried drawing a simple Loony-Toons/Hanna-Barbera style char but it turned out really bad so I don't wanna show it. But it's a first step. I like how the fur lets you be looser with the design.

you can by A4 adheasive sheets for pretty cheap from any office store, then you can either print them at home if you have a printer.
Most print stores will have a sticker option, not sure how much they will cost though.

Its best to lay them out so you can just guilitine them rather than having to use scissors.

But cool stuff none the less.

That's exactly what I do. I don't have the money to have them printed in a shop but my boss allows me to print them at work. I don't use a guillotine because none of my designs are square so yea, I cut them by hand with scissors. I've made many a sticker over the years.

I stick em up wherever I can and pass em out to whoever wants to take them. I know a few people sticking older designs up as they travel. It's pretty cool knowing my 'art' is in a bunch of places I've never been to and never will. Otherwise I've recently had some interest in doing sticker packs but will have to pull my finger out and clean up my designs and get them professionally printed.

my thing is tiny little squiggles so im going to fill it up with tiny little squiggles, kind of like pic related. I just bought the canvas from the roll which cost me A$90, going to get the stretcher bars in two weeks which ive been quoted at A$130.
So not that expensive but when you're a poor student and have bills to pay etc its pretty hard to find that much spare cash. Good thing though is my style will mean ill be at it for a good 300-400 hours which i feel is very worth it.

Definitely dig out the photos i'd love to see them. I like how you've framed the bong goblin how theres like this inner world and an outer world and when hes high hes in both worlds at the same time.

Interesting stuff. i feel if you did this with a pencil/pen and paper it would look way better because it looks a bit "jagged" as is.

Maybe even if you used a drawing program which smothens out the lines.

either way, interesting work.

The next step in the big Bart craze.
I've got a dance real easy to do;
I learned it with no rhythm, and so can you.

Now that you've got it, if you think you can,
Do it to the music -- that's the Bartman.

Cool, i cant tell what medium you've used it looks like watercolour or watered down acrylic, im going to go with acrylic based on your above painting.

I like it, the composition works well the fact that it looks abstract but is actually some kind of being/machine with the eye and the fingers and all that reminds me of kandinsky, where the abstractedness forms an interpretive humanoid-figure. i cant tell if thats a signature down the bottom or something part of the artwork, which i find amusing. Its like alive and dead at the same time, its like an essence which has been animated.

I would have liked a bigger version to go over but it is what it is.

Nice work dude. I also like your other one.

Cool work dude, i can never tell if you are pro or anti drug and that really makes me happy, because when i look at it to behin with its like oh its about how drugs are bad and this is how decreipt you become and then the mood changes to like this almost glorigication of drugs and because it contains both of those elements, like you've even got a beautiful butterfully like all drained of its colour and everything its a really good piece man, you should be super happy with this one.

Heres my work in progress so far, i gotta finish it by the 15th of feb or else i wont get around to finishing it in june.
I should have applied more gesso on to make the surface a little more slicker, oils are going alright so far, the top right is just paint and gum turpintine but the rest has additional linseed oil mixed into it, i think i might have to do another patch with just gum turpintine to make it appear less of a mistake and more intentional. But im unsure. The photo quality is pretty crap because ipod. but ahh well.

Unfortunately this painting isn't going to be on par with that work. This work is quite conservative in subject and doesn't deal with anything on that level visually even though i use the same style. The working title of this work is "evolution" and its my first proper oil on canvas painting.

Do you still do many paintings or drawings outside of ms paint?

Finishing a piece is a strange concept for me. I've made about 20-30 drawings since the start of the year and maybe two are finished so far. I have a solid fifty or sixty works from the last 12 months that I can flip back and forth through when I'm bored with what I'm working on.

I've been trying really hard to force myself to finish pictures because I have such a hard time doing it, and I know I won't be able to make a living doing what I enjoy if I can't get more serious about it.

Nice painting btw. I feel like I've seen something of yours before that looked similar to this. That's the kind of thing I'd like hanging above my bed for when I'm tripping ;)

This is a picture I posted here a few weeks back, except this time with color. It's not finished, and I know I'm not very good with color, but somebody on here said they'd enjoy seeing it colored in, so here it is. I don't know when I'll get around to finishing it, but I'll post the final version when it's done.

I hope you see this and let me know what you think of it. I also want to say thank you for motivating me to work with color.

Looks messy and unrefined. lots of "i smoke weed and do drugs starterpack" tropes.
But keep it up, i like the yellow paper you're using, or maybe thats just your light? you should sharpen your pencil every now and then though.

I think bart had a similar issue to you with his work where he would rush everything, take care and plan things out, employ a ruler.

But keep it up, i'd be interesting to see what you conjour up next.

Dude your ideas are fucking cool dont get me wrong i say the "i do drugs and smoke startpark" line because well its kind of what everybody who gets stoned draws.
but the main thing that dilutes your ideas is your pencil work. maybe its just the photo maybe its something else but your lines dont work for me at all, they look fuzzy when they should be sharp.

Go to an art store and buy some dope pencils, some paper and a sharpener and you'll be sweet.

As i said before Keep it up! im interested to see what else you can do and how far you can explore this idea.

That's quite an image. Love the symmetry and the psychedelic tone. I hope you don't mind the possibly annoying question, but was this created on public property? How long did it take to complete and what kind of paint did you use? Anyways, thanks for sharing, and in the case you're creating on public property without permission - stay safe out there. When it comes to street art, personally simple tagging usually gets on my nerves, but complicated, beautiful, and thought-provoking works such as this image I tend to appreciate. I hope you can pardon my blabbering, I'm currently stimming out of my prefrontal lobe. Stay safe out there, Anonymous.

I'm finally getting to the point of being able to realize my visions, and I think the extra dimension of color would throw me off right now. It's like, a whole new mountain to climb. If I could give one critique, the stone steps with the sphere, they would much more appealing if they were brighter. It would balance the picture, at the moment while beautiful, it comes across as oppressive to my stoned sensibilities. I think it's just because I expect the steps to be brighter, to "pop" more, they look too much like the background (Not in texture but in tone) and that bothers me.

Not hard at all. I used to make GIFs in Photoshop, using the animation workspace, but that was a long time ago. Now I just use GIMP for animation because it's free and open source and multi-platform, even though I'm sure there are probably better options out there. But just have a separate layer or group for every frame and then export as a GIF (save or save as is only for saving your project as XCF, which is like the GIMP equivalent to PSD, which is not what you want for GIFs), then in the GIF export settings you can save it as an animated GIF. See pic.

For the animation I posted, I took screenshots of a fractal in a fractal rendering program called XaoS and then imported them as layers into my GIMP project and then reordered them and put them into layer groups with the drawing layer on top. You can have many layers for each frame in the animation.

You can preview your animation in GIMP by going to Filters -> Animation -> Playback. Something else that is useful for animations in GIMP is, before you upload it somewhere, you go to Filters -> Animation -> Optimize for GIF (to reduce file size).

You can also set custom delays for each frame. For example, instead of having fixed 10fps, you can have 1 frame be 100ms, and then another be 500ms, and so on. Just put (100ms) in the layer name or layer group name to make it have that timing.

This is a really inefficient method of animation compared to motion tweening in Flash or using a video editing program, but my method is best suited for short GIFs instead of videos or

Augustus Drubbertod - Sat, 08 Sep 2018 15:58:15 EST XskAX19G No.53203 Reply
Also, if you want to do flipbook-style animations in GIMP, just make a new layer and then temporarily reduce the opacity so you can see what the frame under it looked like.

Another important tool for animation is ffmpeg, which is useful for tons of different things. If you want to edit a video in GIMP (again, not the ideal tool, but it's what I do anyway), you can do this:
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/10957412/fastest-way-to-extract-frames-using-ffmpeg
To convert a video into a bunch of frame images, which you can then import as layers into a GIMP project.

So like is it a medative sort of thing? It seems to follow a formula that's pleasant. My eyes like to glance around it and and the mind tends to want to make up forms from the input, but I assume it takes a long time to draw something like this.

Nah, no recent full-color complete artwork to share. I don't have any good ideas these days. I'm not as creative as I was when I was younger. Lately, when I can motivate myself, I've just been working on rough 2D animations and doing figure studies of women from photo reference.

I need some encouragement. I'm so dejected about my progress...just feels like it's not happening fast enough, and then I put in less effort, and it suffers more. But I feel like this piece is a big leap for me in terms of quality. I didn't use any reference for it. Can someone just tell me I did a good job so I have motivation?

The proportions are rather good for no reference. There are some aspects of the sketch which I would personally consider detrimental to the overall quality of it. The line work could use some improvement (but it's not completely shit, I'm not trying to disrespect you) and there are some minor anatomical flaws here and there. You mentioned that your goal is to become a hentai artist. If you're firm in one day outputting some high-quality art porn, I don't see why you're not doing studies from reference as your initial strategy of building up a mental library.

Why not freeze-frame a high-definition porn video, preferably one that displays an interesting angle of human bodies sexually interacting and draw what you see from this given reference?

I don't know man. Just trying to shoot you some advice, some constructive criticism, and like you asked for, some motivation.

It's not a completely terrible sketch, especially considering it's no reference. You've got an understanding of the rib cage that's pleasant. Just don't give up, draw every day, and practice from references or better yet from life. Keep an eye out for negative spaces while you work. When dealing with the human form always consider the anatomical structure within.

Also I'd just like to say that I'm no pro or anything flashy like that. I've been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember and I still struggle with motivation, self doubt, and basic principles. Don't take what I write seriously if it doesn't jive with you, I'm not an expert or anything like that.

Draw some hot porn, fren. Or tasteful figure studies. Or some fruit in a bowl. Just try to appreciate and enjoy the process of creating it. I think that's what's most important in this artwork stuff.

Thanks, i've been told before to use references. When I'm feeling creative I just start drawing, I don't have time to search for references. Then I fall down a reference hole of trying to find the "perfect" one. I have practice sessions where I just mechanically study references and draw, and then I have creative sessions where I just draw and try to best represent what I see in my head. This was a creative session. I had no concept of the sword boi, he just popped into existence underneath my hand as I drew, and the more I drew, the more solid the concept of him became.

And I feel like if this can be one of my favorite hentai artists
<<<

despite his absolute shit anatomy, is what makes me not care that much about anatomy. I used to be crippled by my unwillingness to even create a finished picture if there were any anatomical errors present that I could not wrap my head around. Now I'm of the mind that it's ok to make mistakes, mistakes are part of the road. If I don't love what I do I won't do it.

If you wanna get better at drawing humans, you have to draw a lot of them.

Rather than giving a shit about the outcome, give a shit about the process. I'd recommend you do something like 15-30 minute studies. You keep this up long enough, you can bang out a seriously good form in about a minute. This was an insider tip I got given by my tattoo artist, who is ridiculously accomplished at this stuff.

I very much enjoy your images. So dreamlike and haunting. You have a way with details without the overall image becoming too busy.

Here's a drawing I did in Photoshop on my wife's new MacBook. I don't know how to use Mac and I exported the layer to png without merging to background, hence some transparency glitches in the image. What a screen, though, them fancy new MacBook Pros.

It's an old rubbush burning plant and the owner died with noone to leave it to, so it's the cities property now but they can't pay for cleaning it up..so we're allowed to paint there and most pieces only stand for a week at most since loads of people come by to paint.

I started using backsides of cubboards from trash and thin wood which I prime all around and then begin to paint it. Had too many canvases just fall over and get punctured to keep painting them.
But yes, I always paint them in some dark brown because it decreases contrast on the first strokes and it's easier to put in the first colours of the painting. Darks don't seem too dark and light tones don't seem too bright that way.
