what do you guys use for ad blocking?

that's not why Im here though
there's some image of kids playing at the beach or in sand or something and the image says something like every act of free creative play is a blow to hierarchal power
or something like that, I googled extensively for 2 minutes and I got nothing
Please help me, also
give me your best memes from 06-2010 please
I am all up on the nostalgia train

Authentic play selects for winners and losers. This is how we identify competence.

Authentic play leads directly to hierarchic power.

I've actually stopped ad blocking.

Intense psychedelic experiences and meditation have allowed me to completely block out any ads mentally through intense mental disciplines.

I've also developed a mental technique to travel forwards in time to my future self. I use it at work all the time to skip right to the end of my day. People ask me, "How can you work so hard and still smile at the end of the day?", and I just smile. Because I don't know what the fuck I'm doing nigga.

Read about Piaget and constructivism
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constructivism_(philosophy_of_education)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxoRzAfz42Q

Given that:
Humans are social animals, and
No single human has all the answers for all circumstances
We have developed(long before we were humans--lobsters lol) a way of organizing ourselves to identify and select for behaviour that works across time socially. This is done through play/modeling, when children, and more generally cooperation and competition as we age, in order to democratically identify which behaviours we should model.

You can argue that the West is a tyranny, but it mostly isn't, sorry. If you work hard and cooperate and compete through means that are acceptable to broader society, you will gain status across time. There are outliers like sociopaths and rich kids that collect inheritances but you don't build a theory based on outliers. And those aren't sustainable across time.

Ad blocking is not only about you though, you can't block malign intrusive ads from doing weird shit to your machine by thinking happy thoughts.
Also you'd better not keep that up. Every time you disregard time you lose some from adjacent time slots as well. I did the same alot cause I had to wait around alot during my school age, and now a day is like half an hour, blast through a year in a couple of weeks. Haven't figured out how to get back to an adequate pace yet.

Human beings for tens of thousands of years organized themselves in what we would perceive in our societies as non-hierarchical. Closely related species like Bonobos show generally egalitarian lifestyles, even while related species like chimps don't. Hierarchy isn't "natural" it is quite literally man made. We give ourselves our own law, your pseudo-evolutionary sociology here doesn't actually have the weight of evidence on its side, and doesn't account much for a theory so much as an acquiescence to "the way things are". It's Burkeism two hundred years late.

If we were as egalitarian as bonobos, polygamy would be the norm. It is not. Polygamy does not work for humans. Mostly it doesn't work out well for women.

I do think though, that bonobos and chimps are basically on either side of us in this context. Bonobos are overly cooperative, and chimps are overly competitive. Neither of them have built spacecraft, so that might indicate something regarding competence.

Fair enough. It does make sense since sexual selection is a thing. If animals don't sexually select, they get weaker as a species. At a basic genetic/Darwinian level.

I would agree that humans exhibit a wide range of behaviors. History and pre-history give us too many examples of how human beings can behave under similar circumstances to say that "human nature" is essentially this or that.

>>4826629
>bonobos are less than 1% of the total population of chimps

I have no idea where you heard this or why you think it's true because google is telling me that the bonobo population is only 1/3 to 1/4 of the size of the population of chimps. Anyway neither kill as many humans as we kill of them and that's because human beings have developed cooperative social labor that allows us to dominate our environment in a manner superior to any other animal besides maybe the eusocial species.

To answer the question, I use uBlock origin in Firefox as an adblocker and it works pretty good. I turned it off for this place though.

On a related note, it's interesting that this place got rid of the fake degree ads after all the dunking on them. Even cranky nihilist stoners acknowledge the value of actually getting a real degree. And the ads are way better now.

How the tables have turned! I was surprised to find out these posters have actual standards.

Seriously though these ads are way better. Also thanks for keeping this place going, haven't seen any significant downtime for years now(other than that time the US forgot what snow is).

Rogan had a psychologist on a while back that talked about his theory that we developed the throwing arm and that's what really bifurcated us from chimps:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6oF1CCupiE

Makes sense, since this would allow us to take down larger animals, it was cooperative and competitive, and it would drive language, visual acuity, physical coordination, and an embodied understanding of geometry, among other things.

Also I don't have any old memes because I don't save memes and my memory is very unreliable.

yeah, puh lease, what kind of high score has a "ninja" ever been able to muster?

The Rodge only knifed three people, he didn't even use a rapier or sabre, let alone a katana! And even Mutsuo Toi used a gun, and when he did slash people, he only used a katana part of the time, while using an axe instead some of the time. And even he just might have been a-pervert-rather than-a-ninja.

Oh, but there's ways, there's always ways. That's why murder is used as the ultimate quantifier of crime. People always notice dead bodies. Plus, those people are gone, and others are looking for them.

Okay, fine, it's psychics and such. And domesticated werewolves, they sniff out the dead like St. Bernards on speed. No, not the actual St. Bernards on speed that the Nazis used!

Also, Pirates catch ninjas, because of their rivalry, but they get away most of the time, eventually, because the pirates hold out until they get good enough ransoms for them, but they recouperate most of their losses by using them as slave laborers doing ninja-craftsmanship.
