What the devil is that supposed to be? South Korea and Ukraine, so high up?

Poland's fucking number 4?!?!?

Belgium is actually number 4, adding both bars together? Finland's all the way down to the eighth entry from the top? Finland is supposed to massively distinguish itself in this!

Finland is outdone by India? Yeah, okay, they have cheap and easy rat poison, but still, not to mention that Poland's also outdone by India.

Are they measuring how many people each country takes to screw in a light bulb? Most Indians can handle the task on their own until they get a little bit of money. That's why they are at 1.07 people per bulb while Poland is at a solid 2, they need someone to hold the chair and spin.

Huh, what? You're not making any sense. Okay, just let me take a deep breath... So, I guess i'll help you with your confusion, at least to the meagre degree you'd be willing to get unconfused.

So, I guess the issue here is that Finland is supposed to be beyond even dear little underpriveliged India, I think they need someone to mix the vodka cocktail or otherwise help them with the drinking in addition to the two. No, wait, it's the other way around, they're supposed to require only 0.75 people to change a light buld, maybe it's cybernetics or trained monkeys, no wait, that's japan! Must be Finns being able to still change a light bulb when only 3/4 sober. South Korea of course gets robots to do it, they need them to avoid such a thing that would make them get up during an 34 hour gaming session. And the Belgians just get their Frenchies to do it, who don't actually count as people over there.

It's sad that so many of you young men of the internet seem absolutely perplexed as to how first world'ers could have higher suicide rates than places like India. That's consumerism eating your brain. Do you even remember what love is anymore? I'll give you a hint, it's not buying Bella Delphines piss, it's not "flexing on a nigga", it's also probably not sitting in the AC wasting away, surrounded by cummed-on anime figurines.

But at least you're superficially comfy right?

I think honestly some of those who have it rougher *can* have a much greater chance at really "getting" life than those who were born without any real reason other than to just cum on a 1/32 scale Hatsune Miku statuette daily and bitch about how good they have it as being some sort of twisted oppression (which in a really odd way, they do have a point about, but they usually don't seem to manage to break all the way into the core of the logic here, they externalize it and blame others for their hedonistic lifestyles instead of accept that they are shitloaders of the firstworld life of decadence and excess, even when they think they're poor af but still shopping at whole foods and starbucksing it up on the daily).

Materialism ruins people if you let it, it can make life meaningless and make suffering exponentially worse.

I am not one bit surprised at the list.

This guy gets it. mentioning he is using technology to post on the internet is just a delegitimization technique, and a poor one at that.

True, we should all dial back our tech-decadence. Use less non-essential tech, be more in tune with nature, work with the ecosystems and species, not against them. I don't think "returning" to a prim lifestyle is smart though, we have made progress, we should keep the best parts and prune the branches of our civilization that are eating up resources. Or at lest tend to them.

I think people in India are less divided by social status and class. That is to say, that less people are divided by those things than you would see in a country like the US for instance. I've never been to India but something tells me people are more down to earth there, in a way..

One of the biggest forms of spirituality in the US is anti-spirituality. It's that whole "In this moment I am enlightened by my own intelligence, not because of some phony god" meme. Literally a lot of people believe that the most intelligent view point they can have is to completely reject anything spiritual or religious and say that humanity just happened by chance and that there are no god, gods, afterlife, etc. It's also an aggression-fueled belief in many cases. It fosters hate and negativity.

The fact that you can feel energy but most people aren't aware and want to say that there's no god because as far as they know god is the jewish god and they're unaware that their sample pool of religion is all worshiping the same god with a different cultural twist on it. allah = holy trinity = jesus = hashem

>I think people in India are less divided by social status and class

Lmao there is literally a caste system in india with the lowest caste being the "untouchables" and, as the name suggests, you aren't supposed to interact with them at all in any way or form, not even acknowledging them, let alone helping them ... india is also ultraconservative, in certain regards at least, I once read that divorce rates in the west are something like 50% ... in the rich gulf states, so saudi arabia, qatar, yadayada is was like 20%? 30%? Definitely surprised me, my own country was like 15%... you know the number for india? I think it was 1% or 2% lmao and lets not even talk about the rape numbers, india is horrible for women ... unless you are like from the highest caste, life is good then, regardless of gender ... and just to make it clear, I like india, it is a very diverse and crazy place, definitely unique, but lets not act as if india doesn't have its own set of problems

I don't believe statistically it's one of the biggest spiritual trends. I was probably wrong to say that, but nonetheless it is prominent. It is an intelligence thing for those people - they're trying to see things clearly and certain things influenced them to settle at that viewpoint. You didn't mention the energy thing and plenty of people look at those religions without seeing them as being the same program worshiping the same god.

You didn't say what I thought you would so I'm writing back. Whatever - I didn't write a well articulated, scholarly post that had clear boundaries of what I was trying to say and what I wasn't. That takes too much energy I usually hope people are able to make inferences. Regardless, I'm uninterested now. Do you and I'll do me.

It seemed to me like all the poor people I've seen in pictures and videos were more closely-knitted than is the case in the social domain I live in. It's probably comparable to any group of impoverished people with a common identity.

Poor people aren't extolled - that's what it is. I'm not around enough of them and I'm convinced the greater norm is the lower and middle classes, where I live.

You are literally just saying what you feel based on intuition. That's useful for snap decisions but when you're making a stand, taking a stance or simply have the time to check the facts you should do that. You know nothing, you're just running on media memes and your own bias. If it takes too much energy to make sure your inferences don't point in the opposite direction to commonly known facts seriously, how do yo not know about untouchables? then it's easy for your inferences to be "It takes too much energy to find the facts on the situation". And that's your problem.

Don't get me wrong I'm a reasonably intuitive person, that's why I try to stop and take in the facts before I shoot my mouth off or take an important course of action less I spread untruths/look stupid or fuck things up.

Now I have a personal gut feeling like this. I will admit there's no facts but my own experiences, but I've met people of all sorts of religions interpreting the same religion as another in a different way, disagreeing on issues entirely and justifying it using different quotes, scriptures and values. I will openly say this is purely an untested hypothesis but that I have disproved any alternatives (because a small sample isn't enough to solidly prove something, it can disprove).

The idea that
>most violence in the name of religion is atheism
>religion isn't usually just an excuse
Is just wrong. Most religions are so subjective, contradictory and open they become a mirror for whoever believes them, this is especially true of believing in nothing.

India has such a flawed society. In the caste system, if you're born poor, you make no true effort to better yourself because you were destined to be poor by fate. Instead of working to better one another and alleviate suffering throughout society, you're supposed learn to cope with living in bad conditions. The foundations of this come from the belief that to live is to suffer, so essentially, why try changing life?

>>4928592

I think the backlash against orthodoxy, and why it can seem aggressive, is because organized religion has been a means of control for thousands of years. Only recently has it become acceptable to openly question the invisible beings in the sky, and people have come to learn that we've been led astray by religion.

The new spirituality that so many modern scientists seem enthralled by is essentially the same as that of the early philosophers and mathematicians. This world is God's realm, and to understand the laws and interactions of matter and energy is to know God. Arithmetic and geometry were attempts at understanding the divine.

Scientists are increasingly coming closer and closer to accepting a panpsychic or animistic reality: Consciousness is pervasive, even if it is non-human and completely alien to how we experience reality. Even materialists are coming to this conclusion.

People don't eat baby seals by choice though though, they have almost no meat and blubber, taking into account the conditions Inuits live in the energy expended would outweigh the payout and possibly hurt future seal meat reserves.

They are used for fur but not by locals. People hunt them and sell the furs and probably eat the meat because why not but it's not choice seal meat. Basically there is a correlation between the age of the seal being killed and whether consumption of it is bourgeoisie or not regardless of who is preparing the muktuk.
