Hello there fellow green fingered nerds.
Gonna do a loose grow log and hopefully entertain you bunch of degenerates.

This year i'm growing 7 plants. All femenized seeds from a selection of banks.

G13 Haze from barneys farm x3
Jack herrer from greenhouse seeds x1
The church from Greenhouse x1
Cinderella 99, seedbank unknown x2

They popped out of the soil end of april. Using 8ltr water containers for watering, watering each one around 3.4 litres of water daily. Feeding pretty much daily.

Using Hesi neuts and have used the hesi soil neut chart as a rough guide.

They're growing on a roof terrace and I use LST and super topping methods as we have neighbors.

As summer solstice was yesterday thought I woulds start documenting as the more fun changes start to happen soon.

Update time! Not a great deal to report to be honest. All plants are growing beautifully and lapping up all the goodness from the sun. Temps here have dropped off a little bit so its a touch cooler and alot less humid, very welcomed as we had a rather intense heatwave throughout June.

I am now watering each plant, minus the church, 8 litres of water, daily. Theese girls are thirstier than a scouse lass in shagaluf. Everyday I give the little pots a lift to get a good guage on how much they need a water and come evening/watering time their pots are light and easily liftable.

Been slowing up on the feeding at the moment, started only feeding every second to third day as they're not looking like they're showing any signs of problems or defs. Although I give them a couple drops of supervit in each 8ltr water container every day, seems like they love it.

Today gave them a full feed.
15ml of Hesi powerzyme in each 8ltrs of water, 20ml of NPK per 8ltr and the supervit.

All have been showing sex for around a month now but the C99s look like they're about to start their actual flowering period. Will find out by the end of the week.

Sup nerds!

Again not a great deal to report. Gave them a water and feed last night and have now started spraying them with neem as I found nibble marks, not from my dog and tiny tiny caterpillars. Not taking any chances. Once flowers start showing properly will have to water the neem in.
The church is finally gettin her move on and begining to actually grow out, thank fuck.

All plants are on their journey into flowering. Showing more and more pistels. The C99's leading the pack. I think they should be ready to cut end of august. At least thats what I'm hoping anyway.

Canopy view of my mini jungle!
From left to right, Jack, Church, G13, C99.

I gave them a little trim yesterday and this morning on their undercarrages. Loads of small pointless growth that needed to be cleared for ease of access and airflow.

Safe ravers!

Gave the girls a week of flush last week, just water and then a full feed last night. Gave most of them an extra touch of LST too. Increase that bushyness yo!

This is the biggest of the G13s. Still growing stronk.

If you look close, you can see those are the breathable felt pots. When the soil inside dries up it doesn't contract as much, killing off the edges of the root ball like plastic containers do.

Sup people.

Just a quick stop by. All still good in the hood, girls fattening up nicely and getting oh, so close.
I cut down the big C99 yesterday, after flushing for a week. spent all day yesterday trimming her and only got through half, even though loosing alot of her big leaves, still so much to trim. Fuck!
I think from next week I will start to flush and then a week after cut down the other C99 and possibly Big G13 and one of the smaller ones. They seem to be all nearing the end except for the Jack.

Jack is doing great, gonna finish much later than the rest, which is nice as I am able to give attention to just her.

Have switched up the feed to something I mentioned in my last post. I started to fill my water bottles up with full neuts but only half watered them for two days then gave them straight water the third day. They seem to be handling it ok, the yellowing continues, of corse. But I belive this is more to do with their maturity more than anything else. I could be of corse, very very wrong. But oh well.

Cheers for stopping in. Hope you're having a good one!

Cheers for the kind words boys.

I grow oldschool strains because its what I know works and I know will be a great smoke.
The G13 Haze is an alltime favorite strain of mine and one that I havn't been able to get hold of for far too many years.
Been looking into other strains/newer weirdness over the past couple of days though and gonna try something completely different for next year.

Cutting down all the G13's and the last C99 today. Big C99 is all dried and almost all trimmed. For a plant that had the smallest buds i've still yeilded an impressive amount from it.
From the bits that i've been smoking I've been really enjoying it and hopefully its gonna get better as it cures.
Super sweet aroma, almost like summer fruits juice drink. Insane.
Also been using my workscreen and harvesting trichs from popcorn buds and trim from the C99 and have already gained a shitload. Process is pretty long though but super fun to see my glass table i'm working on turn a lovely shade of orange and then scoop it all up.

Will post some more pics later of the plants!

I've got some friends who're up for the brainmelting task of helping trim which is great. Just give them a handfull of buds for their troubles and they're happy.

Last year I was working 60 hour weeks, would come home after work and only trim. Wake up the next day, work trim sleep.

Picture of my life right now, fortunately I have my beautiful other half to share the struggle with.

LST is literally the best thing I discovered. I have always LST'd my plants ever since learning about it and its always yeilded amazing and interesting results!

LST or at least some kind of cropping is needed with weed. I grew a clone "straight," recently and the yield was shit compared to a "bushy" semi-LST'd plant. Ounces of difference.

I'm transitioning from DWC back to soil, because honestly, I don't have the fucking energy or cash to put into DWC...very finicky. Soil is better for me. So, my next all soil grow is going to be SCRoG. Done by the book. Then LST.

yeah sorry about that, i wasn't trying to shit on your grow in any way, but i started breeding my own seed a few years ago and i find that getting the results adds a lot to the fun of growing. plus the pro breeders don't concern themselves with making breeds that performs outdoors in your environment, they only really breed from indoor performance. if you do it for a just a couple seasons you'll find that your seeds outperform purchased varieties substantially. a few more years after that and you'll have a rooftop landrace variety all your own. handling pollen safely and making a few seeds on lower buds without seeding the rest of the crop isn't as difficult as some people make it out to be and growing your own seeds is much more fun. you might even make some money selling seeds one day if you breed something special or at least save yourself some money on seed packs.

No insult recieved my man. Everyone has their opinions, preferences and the like.

Breeding has always interested me and taking my projects the next step further but its something I know little to nothing about. I agree with you on the big names thing too.

Gonna look into more strains that ive never heard of before and more specialised strains for outdoor next year. Kinda hard to get things sent here, on an island. Alot of seedbanks fairly local though.

Its a shame that exchanging contact info here isn't permitted because I'd love to send you a bunch of free seedpacks of our stuff. We enjoy getting feedback on our material because our small group of people can only grow out so many seeds ourselves so we give away as many free packs as we reasonably can and unless you're in the canary islands you're probably at roughly the same latitude we breed at. What are some of your local seedbanks?

Heres a Sept 29 picture from one of my small tester plants from our home made seed that I grew in a 3 gallon pot, I am >>145350 & I'm starting a trip name for the rest of this thread just in case we end up making this work out, but now that I look close at your final plant photos I understand your strain selection a little better. Looking back at the start of flower photos really confirms it too, you picked out great pot plant genetics for your local conditions, got them about 8 weeks flowering in the sun, took great care of them and pulled some fat frostily looking bud. JH was the only one that looked like it might have been lagging a bit, amazing how differently the C99 performed. Mr. Soul, the dude who bred C99 starting from 1990s Sensi Seed JH has a really kick ass interview on "The Pot Cast" where he talks about breeding and selecting males, its one of the smartest things I've heard on the topic of picking stud plants.

I'd like to get some of our seed out to you and have arranged a clever plan. Looks like you were trimming Sept 25, is that roughly your normal harvest date? Did you think that the bud was done or would have rather given them more time? Do you have any favorite flavors in cannabis or other features that you look for in a plant (i.e. purple flowers, sativa leaning genetics, etc.)?

> Balearic islands

this is the breeding garden. if you look in the top frame all those smaller round green pots have genetically tested male seed plants of the strain we bred for use as studs. in the middle frame you can see a couple males lurking in the back, by that time 3/4 of the males that had been started were culled for a variety of offenses. we ended up with 4 winner dudes who blew their jizz all over the females until the end of august. three females of the male line in there too, cue the banjo music, hey look its mom and a couple sexy female cousin. wincest orgy in an isolated mountain valley wow what a surprise.
harvest was taken in from sept 21 - 27, should be about 800,000 good seeds in there so I'm getting a new 5x5 tent

OP here.
Like I said, I grew them because I knew how and knew that some of them would do well in my condtions. Next year alot of weirdness and one or two classics.
Actually have found three seeds when trimming the G13, pretty interesting. Seems like somones breeding within the radius around me, or abandoned a male.

I normally try harvest a little bit later. I think the G13's could've gone on for another week to be quite honest. They were showing quite a few amber trichs though and most of the pistels were brown/orange. That and because of people visiting, family, friends etc it had to be done before they arrive.
I love purples and anything with funky colours, I usually pick indica/sat mixes, favoring towards the more sativa dominated.

I cut The Church down a couple days ago and is now drying in the dry room.
All G13 Haze is trimmed after a huge one week trimming push. Around 3 hours every night after work.

Jack is still up and I'm thinking to flush for a week and then cut her down. Weather is getting colder, the nights alot more humid.

Cheers for stopping in. And Durrani, you got steam?

Beautiful plants.

When would you say you pruned, and how much? Your plants looked extremely bushy at first and I'm wondering if you had to prune it in stages. Some of the grows on here are pruning way too much, way too fast, but you seem to have done it perfectly.

Op here!

I buy my seeds from the local grow shop here, they also supply clones, but to my knowlege they're quite a limited range. Usually amnesia haze or some variant. They do also sell seedlings, have given me seedlings for free in the past.
I don't know many other growers either here and intend to keep it that way.

I pruned from fairly early. I believe the first super cut or whatever, where you lance off a large part of the upper plant, I did around 2 weeks after seed. Pretty much shortly after they left seedling. I also kept them tied down from seedling.
I would prune fairly often, Once a month more or less during veg, each time taking off quite a bit. Mostly the under branches and also shaping alot with LST.

So lads.
Its 2018 and its time to start getting ready for the season.
I'm stumped on what to grow, I want to grow something new, strong and resiliant to high temps, I do love a nice indica/sativa mix, also.

I'm also thinking of running four large main plants, femanized. Then run a few autos at the start and end of the grow for some extra bang for my buck.

Thanks bud, great start.

I've only just managed to source all of my seeds for this year, took a while, as is the way where i live.

This year I have:
Ripper seeds - Washing Machine, Ripper Haze, Old school
Reserva privada - Sour Diesel

Also found a couple seeds in my G13 haze from last year so have germinated them and both have popped through and are now chilling on the roof.

I will update when there is something to update with. Hope you're all good. Still smoking my shit from last year and no signs of running out anytime soon, Good times.

Nice. Both were big yielders for me last year. I imagine a cross of the two to be real nice. You doingi t outdoor?

Technically I started a little late for outdoor, but likely.
I popped the seeds with the intentions of turning the toughest into mothers for indoor after sexing, but i'm not sure if the space will be available. Also, I had a pretty good success rate, so I think I'll have plenty to plant outdoors.

if you're northern hemisphere you're fine to plant now. Probablyh the best time for outdoor.

OP here.
You're wrong.
For where I live in the northern hemisphere end of april is the time to plant. Chill out and stop being a dick. Tia in advance.

All four of my seeds I bought this year have popped their heads out of the soil and are loving the springtime sun.
The two G13 cross seeds from my grow last year popped through but didn't seem to progress much at all, leading to me pulling them as it was going to be a waste of time and energy. I think they wern't properly developed or something, who knows.
Probably going to buy a couple of auto seeds this week to make up for them two and clone the washing machine a couple of times.
Fanny Turveyshaw - Thu, 10 May 2018 03:20:07 EST BAT1/5Gs No.145976 Reply
I get mine from my local grow store. The owner orders them in for you and has a nice selection in house too. I also keep a few every year from previous grows so i have a nice selection.

Sensiseeds if you live in europe is probably THE most known seed distributer. Their genetics are generally very uniform and sturdy. My 5 seeds all germinated.

Here are some hints and dont be afraid to buy more seeds now.
>Pick a strain that isnt maximised for yield or potency but that is selected for its healthy grow/resistance to cold/pests and the like. Autoflowers are great for first timers
>Dont overwater or overfeed. Too many beginners do this and its really sad. All you need to do is never let the roots dry out <completely> and youre fine
>Dont be afraid to try again
>fresh air
>Mix your soil 30% with coconute fibers for a mix that allows oxygen into the soil - very important for cannabis.

Dont let your misstakes be the end, try again.

You could also try to grow hemp first, since hemp seeds are virtually free

Being nude is fantastic, Unfortunatly I am not nude in this photo. Regardless, I don't know why it bothers you, there is nothing indentifable even if you look hard enough, which you didn't.

I'm gonna start taking photos at the end of the month, when they start to flower, otherwise its just pretty boring to see some plants slowly grow. At least thats what I think when looking at them.

Been feeding the plants all this week as I was looking through the thread and comparing the plants from last year to this years bunch and noticed that they're half the size.
Boosted their feed and have now started to feed and water every day. It seems to be working and the difference from last week to this week is noticable. Plants seem to be loving the food and growing pretty rapidly now. Got lazy and started later than usual.

Washing machine going mad, the ripper haze has been runty since day one, quite frustrating really. Been giving it extra feed too but still doesn't seem to want to explode like the others have.

I got lazy with this years documentation and the grow itself. Had quite a few problems just before flower with a few of the girls, unfortunately. So the yeilds wern't as good as last years. Will dump a few pics tho.

This was the Red Poison auto I gave a try. Didn't get pics of her on harvist day, stupidly. She gave some lovely fat tight nugs with an amazingly unique sweet smell that really had hints of passion fruit in it. The yeild, for an auto, was surprisigly good too. I've still got a couple seeds of this left so I'm gonna do two next year for a nice early smoke.

Old School.

This is a wicked smoke and gave a decent yeild despite the problems I threw at it. Definately giving this a second attempt next year.
Wicked flavour and smell. Really has the trademark UK Cheese characteristics

All in all, this year was a bit of a flop. I started late, didn't feed enough during veg and then overfed at the start of flower. Then when flushing the plants effected, overwatered and had to leave to dry out for over a week!
Don't think it will last the year like previous years crop but I've still got a load of trim and popcorn from last year. Also all of this years trim and popcorn.
Have been making hash with bubble bads with great results.

I'm gonna try and remember to grab some budpics of this years crop for you nerds.
Thanks for looking in!
