So this is a plant that I’ve recently tried to Pham but I’m not sure if I’ve achieved the desired results. My question is which part of the plant is supposed to take over as the new main colas? Is it supposed to be the regrowth or the branches in between the fan leaves and the main stem?

It appears that you cut too high and the main growing tip is still intact.

I have never understood fimming. Are you supposed to just cut the top of the main stem or also the leaves that it shows the red line passing through? If you just cut the main stem I don't see how it's any different from doing a topping you're just doing it at the highest node rather than the next one down. If you cut the leaves also though I don't understand how it makes it any different or why cutting the leaves is desirable.

The idea is that the new growth points are closer together, which can give a more even canopy.

I've never felt the need to fim though, a lot of cultivars produce four identical branches when topped.
