Hi, I would really like to hear from you if you think you've experienced some kind of histamine rebound from heavy antihistamine use. I've had a long term mystery itch. I don't use Diphenhydramine but I used Promethazine for the itch and to sleep, in moderate-low amounts for a few weeks. It seems like there's a million variables and I know what exacerbates the itch but I don't know what causes it if it has a singular cause. I ate Camembert cheese yesterday and my itch was worse than ever. The cheese could have high amounts of histamine. Its a nocturnal itch btw but I still feel it all day. Also I ask out of curiosity if heavy DPH use causes some kind of histamine rebound. Couldn't think of the right pic. Cheers

It's curious you bring this up! For around the past year I've had a fairly consistently itchy scalp. I stopped my hardcore DPH derpery around 2016-2017 then continued using DXM heavily until current. I don't know if it's the DPH or DXM damage or switching to an all natural shampoo or just dandruff from over shampooing and not conditioning enough. Either way I'm always itching my head. It's pretty annoying.

Well if its on your scalp then it is probably scalp related, or hair related in some way. Mine is all-over which makes me think it is dietary related. I can't find the cause though so I think it could even be liver or kidney issues or some kind of cancer though nothing else would suggest it.

I never experienced the itch but my brother took dph with me once and said he could feel bugs crawling on him for a few weeks afterwards

It was weird

Is it like a normal itch? Can you scratch it or is it like an inner itch? DPH itself always seemed to give me this mystery itch at times. Like an itch inside my skin. Doses past like 175 made me itch at times.
