Hi, it's Lucidet. Haven't been around in probably more than a decade so idk if anyone remembers me. I made The Benadryl Album back then, which had a bit of a cult following here. I wanted to let y'all know that after years of nothing, I finally finished a new album. It's not wholly inspired by dph, but it retains much of the vibe. It's called Life Death Chaos Order, and you can find it on my bandcamp. idk if it's ok to link to it.

Other than that, AMA about The Benadryl Album or anything.

Yooo. I'm a long time fan of the Benadryl Album and I downloaded all the other stuff
you had available at the time, which is always enjoyable whenever it shuffles up. Looking forward to hearing the new album.

Were you on Benadryl at all during the recording sessions?

Thanks! Yeah I was for at least Dropped Pixel, The Sun is Shining, and Hell in a Handbasket. Besides those I'm not sure because I can't remember that time period too well. I know for a fact that I attempted to record a lot more stuff, and add overdubs to a number of tracks on the album, but I forgot to hit record and just hit play while I was under the influence lol. So I just jammed for myself I guess. The whole thing was recorded during a period where I was using the stuff pretty frequently, so it's fair to say that most of it was actually recorded during DPH hangovers rather than on the substance itself.

Yoo do you have soundcloud or something Lucidet? I heard the benadryl album once a few years back and loved the experimental drone nose vibe. This new album is even better :)) I only just realised it was you who commented on my own song, we should get in contact on a place that isn't an anonymous message board where anyone could imitate us. Do you get messages on bandcamp? Lol

Haha glad to hear it. I probably would have guessed those tracks to be the ones. The Sun is Shining cracks me up every time. It gives me that familiar feeling of trying to make the best out of a generally uncomfortable experience. Unfortunate that there were lost sessions, but rest assured that you were heard across the far reaches of Eiriel.

How much DPH is too much over time? I've been abusing it once a month for over a year and a half now. Doses ranging from 200-500mg a session.

Whats the downside here? I haven't really had any negative effects so far except for a horrrible afterglow period.

More and more people I know are saying that their doctors tell them not to take Benadryl at all (obviously referring to normal doses) to treat allergies or help with sleep. With that in mind I'd saying any recreational amount is probably too much.

I probably took about as much as you (although during some periods I took it multiple times a week) and I quit about 10ish years ago. Personally I haven't had any negative consequences yet, although I guess I'm at risk for earlier cognitive decline when I get older. A while after I quit I thought it made me dumber, but in reality I think I was just an idiot because I was like 20 years old. It's been a process of realizing I was a complete moron last year, every year, for my entire life lol.

Also personally some of those "horrible afterglows" were kinda dangerous. One day I was driving around, running errands, and I saw a huge swarm of bats fly right past my car before vanishing. Never seen bats in my life, much less around where I live at noon. Fuck that.

There was a time when I was a regular Del-ver and I agree with what Lucidet says for the most part. But I personally think the amphetamines i did are what caused the most harm to my body, followed by all the pills I used to smoke and shoot, so I don't consider that summer when I was 17 and did it almost every 3 days in 300-1200mg doses, along with a fap dose here and there in the years since, to be all that serious. But only time will tell.... but the human body's ability to adapt and recover is amazing, so I'm betting on that to save me.

Then again I've always said if I make it to my 60's with my sanity intact than I won at life, so we'll see........
