I'll spare the details.

Essentially I was in a place where nothing made sense and everything was high-stakes. Me not understanding non-sense had some serious consequences. I got upset enough where I tore down the place and freed a bunch of children from it's grasp. My girlfriend had gone insane within the establishment and the police were looking for her.

The worst thing was the immensity of the guilt I felt the whole time.

I Feel like this meant something important, please help.

For the past 6 months a good 90% of my dreams have been ultra violent, I record all of my dreams in a journal and was shocked at the sheer amount of horrific dreams that my dreaming life has spewed forth. I understand that this could be in direct correlation to my current psychological viewpoint of life and its inhabitants, but my question is;
If I wasn't getting my fix of violence within my dream state would I be at a higher risk of creating violence within my waking life?
I believe that our dreams seek to satisfy a part of us that we have identified as lacking during our waking life, be it violence, sex, happiness or power. But are our dreams powerful enough to truly make us content without being rooted in reality.

Interesting, Freud theorized that dreams were a form of 'wish fulfillment' or that they satisfy (possibly otherwise unconscious, as the fucking weirdo insisted) desires - but does that satisfaction last throughout wakefulness? Hmmm

It probably depends on the specific desire in the dream. For example, sex may leave you waking up horny as hell

Hey /dr/, a couple nights ago I had a long dream sequence that I forgot most of, but I remember vividly in the last couple of minutes before I woke up, I was in a room, and glanced out the window, and to my astonishment and surprise saw a giant floating head made of like, clay and dream magic, staring right at me. Unable to move or react, we held eye contact for about 15 seconds until he just said "I know." then I woke up.

I would compare the overall vibe to the floating giants in Mirrormask.

Telling you guys, this method works. I didn't know what CPA was before I read this guide but, this stuff works, and there is alot of money to be made with moderate effort. If you have any knowledge of CPA then you will flourish with this, I promise, but even if you don't it is broken down to the point where anyone can get a grasp and implement this. you don't need that many twitter followers neither. (200+) and achieving that shouldn't be to hard. For anyone who wants to meet their financial goals for the summer, this can help. Let me know what yall think

This sounds like a pretty basic tip, but cheese gives you off-the-wall insane dreams.

I couldn't fully comprehend what's been going on in my head the past few nights, but I've been alongside the Avengers in a flying ferrari in a mario kart map on one night, in a future so advanced that I couldnt understand it and people there couldn't function without the technology they had then "wake up" in a lecture hall, and the first night I tried it I just saw a really old friend I've fallen out of touch with we talked about some stuff that was bothering me.

I eat about 5 grams of sharp white cheddar right before bed, been doing this for 3 days.

Also, I think I know why it happens: Bacteria have a rudimentary consciousness of their own, and introducing a whole new concentrated colony makes your vagus nerve go whack.

Cheese includes tryptamine which helps with sleeping and affects dreaming.

However the metro is a rag. It's widely read because they give it away for free in railway stations near London and it ends up on trains all day. It takes about 20 minutes to read cover to cover and so people just pick it up, thumb through it, learn nothing and then discard it so someone else can have a read.

I find the Australian Colby cheese that I have had before bed consistently for the last 2-3 years increases the vividness of dreams but doesn't effect the theme so much.

Memory is also unaffected.

My most amazingly vivid and conscious lucid dream was induced by too much caffeine, very little sleep, and melatonin supplements.

I'd love to share this experience as it was incredibly mind-blowing.

> Suddenly wake up in dream and find myself in my room that is slightly difference from irl.
> confused with lucid dreaming and astral projection, I attempt to fly up to the ceiling and fly through through it. I reach the ceiling but can't get through it and it makes a weird buzzing noise. I feel tingly in the head as I got closer to the ceiling.

> tried opening the door to my room only to see it is pitch black in my house.

> run to the window and look outside to find the most vivid and beautiful sunset/pink skies. The houses on my street were in the same layout but look completely different in appearance. My yard along with everyone else had exotic plants.

> a giant pelikan/dinosaur like animal lands on the side of my house. I'm able to see every feather in detail and yellows eyes look crystal clear.

> Decide that I want to play a song in my dream so that I could wake and confirm my lucid dream.

> tries to read the tracklist on my cd only to see gibberish

> looks in the mirror only to see below my eyes. I look exactly the same.
> decide I'm ready to wake up so I go to my bed in the dream. My bedsheets are completely different.

>keeps thinking I finally woke up only to find I'm still in my lucid dream 3x

I eventually woke and immediately remember the songs I played for myself in the dream. I didn't have control of what song I wanted to play, it was like having my song memory on shuffle. One of the songs was 'Cars Clothes Calories' by Blackbear

This was honestly one of the most vivid and long lasting lucid dream.

I once had this dream where I was on the deep web and I ordered this package that was super expensive but allowed me to take drugs on a plane because nobody checks for drugs on first class. Death was there but he didn't do anything. He was hooded but he wasn't a skeleton I think. I took the drugs and not much happened and I vomited.

Another one was where there was this anime dude on a roof top. There was like this black hole explosion he was kinda sucked into and then he became a woman and he said "Timeline" and then was super obsessed with this ring and it was all in this weird montage.

The final one Imma talk about is like I was in school but everything is kinda blue and the lockers are kinda everywhere and it had a super weird structure. Anyway, my English teacher at the time was talking to me and then there was a jump cut and she was half-naked and then me and my friend were walking along a weird (maybe diagonal) corridor and then he teased me about me screwing my teacher being a fetish. Also, there was this chubby Asian girl lying on the floor who wanted doctor pepper. I'm kind of attracted to Asians and fat people.

Does anybody have any ideas as to what these wack dreams mean?

I've had a colourful dream too. I dreamed I went down in an elevator and as the door opened there was a strong green glow and everything appeared to jiggle, as if dangled on strings while the people got in the elevator. In the dream I desperately pressed the up button on the elevator because kneejerk reaction thought was that it would fix anything.

Last night i had a pretty wierd but average dream and at some point i asked one of the characters to ellaborate about something he kept talking about, some sort of conspiracy, at this point i was still unaware that it was a dream and it started getting disturbing and kinda escalated into a nightmare...
He showed me pictures i refused to believe it was something around the government giving people cancer, but anyway i ran outside and met my brother there in a complicated mexican showdown situation where some kid was threatening someone with a gun and acting crazy and my brother held a gun against him, it also had something to do with the conspiracy but i dont remember how - at this point i realized it was a dream, the setting was very dark so being aware i tried to make it daylight but failed - i flew up over everyone to try control the situation but again felt i was rather powerless (other than flying) so i decided to kind of fight the dream itself as if it was a dark entity or something by flying fast into the pitch black darkness in the distance - i felt scared shitless as i was passing this dark force in the distance and woke up breathing heavily, again feeling like it may have not been the right choice of action or something...

How would you have reacted?
How do i control my dreamworld once i am aware or is this not possible or necessary?

*note that i have had very nice experiences with lucid dreaming

I had a dream last night and I can't stop thinking about it.

Essentially, I went on a day-trip with my parents, brothers and nephew's. We were having a picnic in this garden and in this bush was this fucking giant wasp. We're talking large cat/small dog sized. Naturally, I am pants-pissingly terrified of Wasps, serious phobia. Anyway, this wasp goes for my nephew and I am screaming for my brother to kill it, when i notice that this wasp is actually playing with him, like a dog.

This wasp is a total bro, it's like my old dog when I was a kid that I fucking loved. Anyway, even I warm up to this big lovable bastard... Then it comes time for us to leave and, for some reason, I decide we can't take it with us, despite the fact that it clearly wants to come home with us. So, I'm trying my damnest to get everything back in the car whilst this wasp is trying to climb in with us. I finally manage to get everything in and we are pulling away, when I look in my coat to find the wasp curled up in it. I dump my coat out the car window whilst it's still on the grass and I swear to got the wasp was crying and begging to come with me.

I woke up in a cold sweat and now I feel the worst cunt in the world.

I've been practicing lucid dreaming for a few years now via the method of consciously falling asleep. I've successfully done it once now. It's where you stay absolutely still until your body begins to itch, and by ignoring the itching, you trick your brain into thinking the conscious part of your brain has fallen asleep. Eventually your limbs begin to go numb until you are fully paralyzed and you slip into a dream, fully aware.

The part that is giving me trouble is when I'm right on the verge of falling asleep and I lose all contact with my body. One of two things always happens, either I:
a). Jerk myself awake and out of the sort of trance state because losing contact feels EXACTLY like falling off a cliff in a dream
b). become anxious and wake myself up with the pounding of my own heart/alertness.
B is what happens most. It's hard not to anticipate what is about to happen, whether I'm excited for the dream to begin or because I'm not sure I'm ready for the falling off a cliff feeling and that I'm worried I'll wake myself up rather than move into it gracefully. Either way I usually wake myself up just enough for feeling to return to my limbs before my chest goes numb and I go into it.

Does anyone have any experience with getting past this hurdle? Maybe any drugs that put you in a docile enough state to not mind but still stay awake? Xanax would be perfect if I wouldn't just pass out. Ketamine would be even better if it didn't completely wall off the possibility of sleep, you either k-hole or you sober up and a k-hole isn't what I'm going for with this. I've been getting good results with certain strains of Kratom combined with benadryl, my body falls fast asleep but my mind just keeps teetering on the edge of dreaming and awake. I even make it to the stage of seeing glimpses and images, getting lost in imaginary scenarios without realizing it, but never actual dreams. Any ideas?

What does it mean when my dreams only consist of me having nightmares? Basically something big lurking in my sub-conciouss that Im not really aware of? Might sound dumb, but Im really worried about the possibility of an afterlife and how to achieve it.
Mostly my nightmares consist of running away from violence or being captured, sometimes really surreal.

Kinda sounds like a symptom of an anxiety disorder, as does being really worried about the afterlife.
Dreams don't have all that much to do with the afterlife normally.

>Im really worried about the possibility of an afterlife and how to achieve it
How exactly does one go about "achieving" an afterlife? As far as anyone can tell, either you'll have one or you won't. Even the most of the major religions leave it between the afterlife being eternal paradise or an eternity of suffering. Either way, in those cases, you're going to "achieve" one.

Your nightmares just seem like a result of general existential dread, if the idea of an afterlife and how to secure one is weighing that heavily on your mind.
