Anyone like...ever lose a loved one and have them "visit" you in a dream? Like I'm not spiritual or religious at all, but my gf died about a year ago, and ive had a few dreams where we're talking and like....its in like present tence, and its totally fucking me up.

Yeah, real deal, if your good at lucid dreaming you can even meet up with your living friends, but takes some mastery on both parties.

what's wrong with it? why does is fucking with you? All is happening now, the energy doesn't die, everything is here now we can connect with anything since it's literally in the same place at the same time. Dreaming you take your attention from the physical and everything becomes more fluid, less sequenced.

My mom has had a chronic illness since I was 10 and one night I dreamed she was cured. I woke up and cried.

It fucks you up because it's impossible.

my father died almost 3 years ago and I still dream about him, sometimes. mostly when I'm stressed.
at first it fucked me up, but now I just appreciate being able to see him, even if it's just my imagination.

OP, you're not going to have these dreams forever because you're not going to live forever. I have another 30 years (if I'm lucky) before I reach my father's age when he died.
your gf may not be alive in the waking world, but she's still real in your mind. both worlds will be over before you know it. accept the dreams. cherish every moment.

I've had so many dreams where I'm in an alternate reality / parallel world scenario where my I'll get to experience spending time with my mom and other family members who are no longer here. Thing is though, it's as if it's a present set with them being what ages they'd currently be if they were still alive.

Last night I dreamt my granddad no longer had dementia, it was very surreal, he could remember everything that happened while he was ill, but was fully lucid.

It made me feel like I lost him all over again.
