anyone have experiences lucid dreaming and telling the people in your dream that you know you're dreaming? I know this is kind of specific but a few nights ago I had a lucid dream where I said that I was dreaming out loud (I was in a mall) and the people around me looked at me and got extremely mad, it was actually really scary, and then shortly after I made myself wake up. I looked it up and apparently strange things like this happen when you do that and the people in your dream start freaking out. Why does this happen? It's really interesting to me... I would love to hear more experiences...

Exactly the opposite. I tell people in my dreams that I'm dreaming and they just accept it.

In fact, I often have conversations with them about how strange it is that I'm talking to myself given how different their points of view can sometimes be from mine yet they express themselves so cogently and seem so worldly that I have to let them know how surprised I am that I was capable of such well-traveled views.

I mean, this is probably akin to creating fully-fleshed out characters when writing a book. They aren't always just projections of what I think these people are, but are filled in with experience and wisdom and unknown knowns.

If I'm still not sure and I'm dreaming then they behave like real people.

As soon as I know it for sure they get pissed - one of them stabbed me once.
