yes, housing in missoula is also a bit pricy. it's possibly the biggest downfall, i would definitely look around to make sure you get the best for your money, unless you go some other route for shelter.

I've always wondered why the go-to for tiny meme houses is shipping containers instead of dumpsters. Shipping containers are surprisingly expensive, and you have to call a manufacturer of them to get one since shipping companies re-use them until they fall apart.

Dumpsters, though, fuck it. Go to a demolition site and just steal one. They have wheels, even! And they're thicker-walled, and not that small. Even smaller dumpsters for apartment buildings and restaurants would make decent shelters if you got a few of them and joined them somehow, and you can transport them much more easily.

I just finished watching The Road and The Postman. Alright /fo/ Your country along with the rest of the world is fucked. No way around it, people starving, rape killing, cannibalism, rouge bands of outlaws, militia groups, little to no gasoline. Just a cluster fuck. Assuming money is worthless and bartering is the norm.

I would probably join a militia of sorts, maybe as an officer. I have guaranteed food shelter and water and surrounded by people who want to protect themselves and what little they have.
> spend my days patrolling our on horse back with an AR and a pistol on my hip.
> stop and talk to people
> ask them if they need anything(food water blankets)
> ride around in a posse and scrounge for supplies
> on my off time I toil in my garden
> run a distillery
> grow a few pot plants for recreational smoking
> live like 1800's frontier America.

So what is your overall plan to survive? Fuck off into the woods and live off the land? Travel from place to place trading? Have a good community to be with for protection?

>go to harbour
>find nice sailing yacht
>load it up with tinned food, medicine, vegetable seeds, chickens and tight teenage girls
>sail to an island a decent distance away from the coast
>build log cabin, build farm, fuck jailbait
Thankfully I grew up on a farm and I also know how to sail, I'm thinking that in a post-apocalyptic scenario with very little gasoline not many outlaws would be wasting their precious guzzoline roaming open waters looking for people to rape and pillage, I'm also think few if any bandits would know how to sail a ship

>I'm pretty sure this is just the description of how democratic society is formed in general

It's very close to it, anthropologists believe that the first democratic societies were nomadic warrior cultures such as Scythians, Mongols and Cossacks where soldiers would vote as to who they wanted to be their commanding officers

probably cause there never really will be a good alternative. Read the Long Emergency man and understand just how utterly fucked we are at this point. Likely it'll be a long painful shrinking of infrasctructure that leads to a more stable point of living that doesn't require massive energy inputs. All the while toxins we made now will be fucking with the genetic make up of generations to come not to mention plagues and god knows what else.

Well it's all about short term profits.

Exxon first cottoned on to climate change in 1981 if you want to know how long it's been a thing. Obviously they reacted as any company could and ploughed money into denial even as they knew it was true. Tinfoil would be saying there's anything beyond selfish greed on the part of old men behind it. Climate change has been a thing a long time. It was accepted as truth in the early 90s in most places. As I said though, the oil company board rooms knew long before that.

Im a time traveler that can travel to other dimensions. In this one, im in the old west and the world is ending. But i have wifi. Recently i started wondering what in creation one would grab in the civil war era to 1880s if the SHTF? I was picturing mason jars of water, surplus knapsacks, bear traps, tents and spare boots. Not sure if this should go in History or here, so i guess here is best bet. Any bushmen out there, throw in your opinions. Feel free to quote marston from reddead.

Let's have a thread where we pose others a /fo/ situation and they have to think and respond realistically with what they would do. You have all your real life gear,BoB,whatever to use when responding.

It could help prepare people and open peoples minds up and maybe change a few shopping lists.

Your single partner you've been traveling with has just been shot in the lower stomach area, you don't know what kind of round it is yet. You are in a somewhat barren city block. A group of at least 3 hostile people with weapons are moving in towards you from about 200meters. You both manage to duck around a corner and you lay your friend down in an alleyway.

ALLAHU ACKBAR!

You look out your window at 3 AM and see a group of 1000 Syrian refugees advancing on your neighborhood. Your beautiful fair-skinned wife lies sleeping in the next room. You rush to wake her up, and hear pounding from the front door.

*CRASH!* Your kitchen window is broken in.

Well, all of the biggest Rabbis in the world agree that we are in the final generation before the Messianic redemption (Ikvet d'moshicha). The Mosaic prophecy recorded in the Holy Zohar that the airev rav (Atheistic, and non-believing Jews) will have control over the holy land has come to fruition (Ask your local "ultra-"-orthodox Rabbi for citation). Another prophecy brought down in Rabbinic literture is that of galut Yishmael, the Israelite exile under the Arab people. The world (Or atleast where there are Jews) will be under complete control, and they will rule for nine months, then the Messiah will be revealed, and all hell will break loose. Im serious, you will be looking for a place to crawl underneath under because of all the mayhem.

Screenshot this.
