Any reenactors on here?

My buddy is in a 9th SS Panzer Division Hohenstaufen unit. Apparently they have a fucking Tiger. I wanna smoke meth from my vape and get drunk as shit off beer listening to German marching music (apparently war reenactors get drunk as fuck).

Not a Nazi, war reenacting is for fun not politics, I'm a Polish, gay, social democrat so I definitely have no reason for joining a Nazi unit beyond I fucking love German militaria.

So anybody else interested in or does reenactments? I'm looking to do WW2 and WW1, but I would be interested in Napoleonic shit as well.

I'm from a midwestern unit made up entirely of guys who split from 9th, which you could probably ID if you asked your friend. Pretty much everything you say is true, but the Tiger I is just a T-34 dressed as a Tiger I.

One of the major downsides is even with no politics rules you're going to learn real fast that reeenactors in general are hyper-conservative so never mention being a social democrat and get used to really toxic opinions, but beside that they'll treat you like a brother.

Also a LOT of the audience won't really like you for doing SS, and you'll have to defend why you do it. I just tell them that I wanted to teach about both the best and worst parts of the war.

Also the Polish reenactors are professionals from Poland who get hired to represent their country and if you go to their camp after hours they'll get you blackout drunk like you'd never believe.

Also, if you do join a unit prepare to lose hobnails.

That's with most nerdy historical hobbies.

When I used to do historical miniature warfare (like Warhammer except not Space Marines and Alien Dinosaurs, but actual historical shit) there were quite a lot of neonazi fuckheads playing it too, especially compared to more casual stuff like Warhammer.
They were always being enthusiastic passive-agressive pussies, so it wasn't so bad. They'd walk behind you and like "cough-say" jolly african-american under their breath.

Oh shit. Are you in 2 Kompanie? My bud used to knock about with them before he joined the 9th. I was considering joining TK but I got sidetracked by life, now that things are freed up for me Im ready to reenact.

Makes you think. If the Nazis had won, painting like this would be everywhere, romanticizing their conquests and such. It's actually a really nice painting, pity it's a happy scene of a bunch of fucking Nazis. Also some of those facial expressions are hilarious.

The funniest thing is that a lot of artists that used to make paintings like this for the German Kulturkammer ended up kickstarting the whole abstract revival movement following WW2 like COBRA.

A friend of mine grew up doing American Revolutionary War reenacting. I'm sure he still does them with his father.
