Countries whose people I truly feel sorry for

There are several countries whose national history have been and still is one long journey through terrible leaders, ideologies and societal problems.
I will name the worst of them and why I think like that.

>entire history is basically the common people being subjected to constant torture
>neo-confucianism (the most inhumane ideology ever conceived)
>foot binding and castration was still practiced at times when democracy either was implemented or discussed in most European countries
>near universal infanticide
>was ruled by foreign dynasties for the majority of the last millennia
Mao Zedong was just following the millennia long tradition of Chinese cruelty. Don't ever let anyone tell you anything else. But at the very least China is currently improving which is totally deserved. The Chinese have had a long and terrible history.

>was ruled by Mongols
>serfdom abolished by 1861
>was a monarchy in 1917
>after collapse of USSR, School turned even shittier
>nationwide corruption stems from the very top of Schooln leadership
There is currently no hope for School. Their economy is still going down the shitter.

>long history of institutionalized corruption (lobbying) by companies
>very little working rights
>indoctrination of school children, people are brainwashed into letting companies fuck them over
>billion dollar military budget
>faux-democracy (e.i. gerrymandering, first past the post)
>both Republicans and Democrats are corrupt and elitist
>industry of propaganda (like "American Sniper")
If there are any Americans reading this then I don't know what you have been told what Europeans think about America but please know that NO western Europeans and only few eastern Europeans regards USA as anything but a poor, corrupt, miserable country.

literally none of those countries are as you described beyond a few superficial details "hurr foot binding".
i suggest reading a book and trying again.

>the chinese practiced foot binding, castration and infanticide for centuries
>the dynasty of jin. yuan and qing existed
>the status of Schooln peasants was that of serfdom
>the USSR existed
>modern School is corrupt
>working rights in USA are curbed by lobbying companies
>American sniper is propaganda

OP actually most average citizens in the world love American concepts, but don't like the way they're handled. Laymen see layUSAmen fondly. Either way it's still the best place to be born nowadays. I'll take corruption and basic standards of living over abject poverty and filth plus corruption any day. Also, Americans are allowed to publicly dissent with leadership whereas some places in the world such people are either ostracized or outright killed.

Actually, there are many underdeveloped countries where the living standards for poor and middleclass people are already much higher than in the USA.

The USA is only good to rich people.

All the garbage posts aside, it makes me sad to think how much Native American culture was destroyed by, like, three or four separate rounds of genocide. It just seems like such a tragedy.

Just how much of the native american population went extinct?

I remember reading about hypotheses that the Americas are covered with dead native american cities, sunken and overgrown. Perhaps most won't ever be found because they used a lot of organic materials in construction, similar to ye olde scandinavians and slavics.

I'm honestly just curious now but is any of this directly correlated with their massive population? Also wondering just how the population came to be so large there specifically & not elsewhere
Caroline Cradgeludge - Fri, 27 Sep 2019 23:33:33 EST ZZpfoyvI No.57821 Reply
well the population got pretty high in Europe before the black plague killed like 70% of the population and the Aztec empire was also pretty populated before smallpox hit. Generally if you live in a temperate climate near a river you're population is probably bound to explode because of easy access to farmable land and other resources and you don't have to worry about the temperature and weather (mostly anyways). China being more totalitarian than normal is probably just cultural from the constant raids, civil wars and invasions that china constantly dealt with throughout the years, and torture allows an easy avenue to keep order within the country so you can focus on other important things.

Interesting though that does make a lot of sense when you put it like that. China has had it's fair share of famine & war etc though, it just seems so out of place in terms of just how much larger the population is vs even india. Well. Not by that large a margin when I think about it

OP never even listed a source you monkeys. He's getting all his info off of the future. Lemme demonstrate.
>>was ruled by foreign dynasties for the majority of the last millennia

length of Yuan (89 years) + Qing dynasty (267) combined = 356 years
length of Northern Song past 1000AD (127 years) + Ming (276 years) = 403 years

A very basic, easy to Google fact is wrong out of the bat. OP is the worst type of pseudointellectual fake-historian trying to make "deep philosophical claims" out of air.

China's population density both for total land and arable land are typical of East Asia. The absolute size of the population is remarkable and I'm tempted to put that down primarily to geography. The land shapes the people as the people shape the land. Don't know about "constant torture" though.

OP is a pop history dipshit. You don't even need to evaluate his claims, just the premise of this thread.

Europe (and I include the UK because it irritates both sides of the channel)

>for 600 years literally incapable of conducting themselves in a stable way before westphalia
>French Revolution after Year 2 (the Jacobins and everything that came afterwards)
>alienate the Schoolns for so long that they functionally live on a different planet and you create your own worst enemy (great job)
>literally destroy your own continent twice within 50 years because you couldn't get your minds around German nationalism after 1866
>After WWII literally give the keys to your former empires to the United States (which is half the reason why the United States is constantly dragged into your own former fucking colonies)
>Since WWII literally be incapable of fucking defending yourselves so you have to rely on the United States
>Have such a deflated sense of national identity that you allow hundreds of thousands of migrants then call yourselves racist for having the expectation that guests in your house assimilate to being in your own fucking house
>Constantly shit on the United States even though our politics have functionally replaced yours to the point where you can't even rely on your own politicians to act with any agency themselves that isn't pre-approved by an American political official in some way
>have this strange sense of cultural sense importance even though you've contributed basically nothing since 1900 except be a battlefield
>destroy the ottoman empire after WWI then are surprised somehow that the arbitrary borders that were drawn might somehow, just somehow, be a problem in the future (what shock)
>surrender all your personal sovereignty to the government just to be surprised and pissed off when they can't handle money properly and you don't get your subsidies
>censorship everywhere

I could probably go on for another hour. But I don't wanna. Because I'm a lazy fat pig headed American.

You literally created America, both as a country in the 1700s and as a superpower in the 1940s
American interests are literally European interests, your technocrats, oligarchs and politicians are just a provincial set of the exact same power structures, a cabal of euro-american financial and military interests has literally controlled and shaped the planet for the last 80 years and if you take away the -american part that goes back 2 or 3 hundred without being a different cabal. The capital all got moved to New York in WWII but it was still the European empire the profits were being drawn from.
You have the highest living standards on earth built on the back of centuries of slavery and imperialism transitioning into corporate-imperialism and globalism, with a nuclear armed military-industrial titan across the seas taking all responsibility for enforcing the imperial world system that allows it, you participate in it's wars, share in its profits, drop bombs and spill blood with it, but they are ITS wars, not yours, you don't have to share the blame, you just have to continue being smug, venal, and superior.

Never fucking mind the fact Sarkozi was the first person to say Gadaffi must go and French planes were the first ones in the air dropping bombs on Libya, it's surely Hilary Clinton's fault that that nation is now essentially just a barbary coast slave depot and you keep being forced to drown people in the Mediterranean for being shipped out of it into your countries. Don't you know that Europeans are against all these imperialistic foreign wars? France even thought about vetoing the Iraq invasion, they didn't, but they DID grandstand about it for YEARS afterwards while that country was slowly ground into dust by other slightly less principled Europeans.

I'm extremely anti-American but you can never let that cloud the fact that western Europeans are cartoonishly, buffoonishly evil, and the hypocrisy of them trying to talk about the American world order is jaw dropping

See my fifth point about handing over European empires and fucking insisting we carry them for you.

I disagree with this guy about the economic angle. But in political terms I totally agree with him. Europeans, that I have seen, act as if their "superiority" isn't a fucking line item guarantee of NATO. Any "imperial" ambitions that the united states has ever expressed has often been a result of entrenching itself in European political global condescension.

So in those terms, thanks Dad.

Lastly, in order to show that these statements are said in the expression of the conversation and not personal attacks I offer the following "funny" picture.
