>>287430 is a great rule of thumb and I still go by this when I distill, normally the first 5% or 10% depending on the starting mash which is overestimating by a decent margin, (though I still use it for sanitizing). The whole methanol debacle is typically pointless and boils down to prohibition myths from when speakeasys would dilute shine with cheaper and more available wood alcohol to stretch supply. Aspartame is broken down into methanol as well and more people have hospitalized from artificial sweeteners in the past 40 years than homebrew hooch, but I dont mind tossing 5oz+ into my medical alcohol container and not worrying about it, or anyone drinking with me. If you can make a normal still a reflux isnt much more work or space, and is the best way to get absinthe in america, especially as >>287464 describes. Starting with normal spirits of any sort and using a reflux is one of the best ways to go if you arent set on the traditional way its made.

Sidecar and sazerac are the classic cognac cocktails. Ginger ale is always a decent mixer. Not sure why you bought Henny when you plan to mix it though, it’s almost always consumed neat or on ice

So, this is coming from a really fucking weird place and I feel you guys might be the only ones who understand. I go a month or so every year to take a break from drinking and aside from getting shitfaced, you know what I miss? Hangover days. Like, spending a whole day just recovering and watching fucking youtube and shit. Now I don't mean fucking awful hangover days where your head is pounding, nausea wont go away, your stomach hates you and that shit. I mean the days where you just feel crappy, not even shitty, and just order food and do nothing but recover and watch shit.

Am i fucking crazy or does anyone else actually like minor hangovers if they have the day off?

This is closest to what I miss about hungover days: the camaraderie of being hungover with other people, getting food, hair of the dog, lounging about watching TV, etc. Being hungover by myself just leads to me just lying on the couch scrolling through Twitter and Youtube aimlessly for hours, it sucks. It goes without saying that the hangovers where you can barely leave your bed (or the toilet) have no redeeming qualities

Preferably vodka since I wouldn't need as much liquid. I hate the taste but want to get drunk and I've heard there's no hangover since it doesn't go thru liver. Not sure if true tho

Pic rel is shock value, would use a couple shots max

Hello fellow hoochies. I've frequented this board since 2007 I think it was.

Still drinking, but less back then (drunk + hungover every day). Now drink when the craving hits (every 3-7 days, sometimes go months without though).

It's great but terrible. Enjoy the good times, endure the bad times.

I have pretty debilitating anxiety so whenever I go out I like to get high or drunk. Lately however, whenever I try to drink in a public space with a little bit of anxiety I instantly puke.

I'm 80% sure that puking is purely due to my anxiety, any fixes for this or no?

Has anyone tried this shit? I just bought some.

I've been on a binge for years now. I only drink to calm anxiety and W/D. I don't even get drunk anymore, and it takes like 20+ units to get past W/D. If anyone has used this, wondering what would be a good dosage for a serious alcoholic to make sure I actually feel it.

Thanks /hooch/

This stuff if HORRIBLE for you, seriously a gram aint no thing (probably like 1250 hcl equalivent due to FAA being purer and denser)but adding any alcohol to the mix (one drink is fine) will bore holes in your guts with phenibut, gross as hell hangover and ime Nerve damage in the legs that went away after stopping both. use less each time to prevent you r body adjusting to more which leads tpo the dreaded but very short wd, basically a 3 day long panic attack with a bunch of other crap shit.

I started getting terrified I was going to get pancreatitis because I was getting some (mild) abdominal pains and I've read all about how excruciating it supposedly is. Over christmas I had debilitating stomach cramps and (more than usual) diarrhea too, decided I really need a break. Was sober for 3 weeks after not taking a day off for like 3 years. Relapsed but I'm currently 8 days sober. I want to drink but I'm promising myself I can do it after I've had a proper break. Like at least 6 weeks (liver should be healed by then?). Ideally more like 6 months.

I have to do it in a responsible way. I know if I don't I will feel like a sack of shit and be miserable like I was last time. By responsible I mean it's ok to get shitfaced but be honest about it and don't do it for days in a row. Basically get drunk on a Saturday night like a normal fucking person and then leave it alone. Yeah we know how that goes.

Pancreatitis is no joke, i was a serious drinker then cut back to two days a week after I had to be hospitalized. And I was dry for a full month after I got out of the hospital.
It is absolute hell to the point where the Dilauad they gave me had me out of my mind but I could still feel a dull pain.
I say that to say this: I can tell you to avoid it and cut back but unless you really want to wou won’t. The pain is not worth it though I’ll say that

I could never successfully taper. Every time I tried I'd just end up drinking more once the symptoms got worse.

How much are you drinking? If it's bad enough that the withdrawals will be dangerous, you need to talk to your doctor.

I spoke to my doctor when I was drinking >1L of Vodka a day and he recommended a steady taper over a week or two and then use a short script of Valium for the insomnia/anxiety afterwards. I asked about just quitting completely and using Valium to deal with the WDs but he said that needs to be done under medical supervision, that I should try the taper and if it's not working he'll talk to me in a week and we can try that out. Instead I opted for a DIY method. There's a bunch of guides around that rehab clinics use for alcohol detox. I did a really rapid taper over 3 days (which I could only do by having a limited amount of alcohol in the house and not buying more) then just used Valium the same way it's used in rehab clinics, see the following: https://www.aafp.org/afp/1998/0701/p139.html#afp19980701p139-t2

I had really bad stomach pains at the time too but that was just gastritis. Doc gave me some meds for that which have been working fine.

Anyway, I'm not a doctor, just someone that knows enough to be a fucking reckless danger to myself. Either way, it worked for me. Don't take this as medical advice.

Tip: buy handles of slightly better booze. (No hangover)
Then: mark down every drink you pour with pen and ink. Like crossing off years in a prison cell.
Also: Pour liquor with water. This prevents damage to your throat and other regions, and also keeps you hydrated. The second's the most important part.

I get properly drunk every night and am hungover perhaps once every season

I started to drink at sixteen. My first drunkening was at 8, but I quit all the way to 15. I invited a couple black friends over and we cashed the better part of a half gal.The ambulance came along with police and gave me od mods. With me at 130lbs, I had 13m5 drinks, I was near alcohol poisoning. Since then,, I always had a few, My uncle would steal money with the card to buy us a couple fifteen packs about every other evening, and since we made 50k yearly, it hardly mattered. Our finances dwindled in later years. Anyways, I used to drink about 6-10 a night, while I browsed 4chan.org in my Xbox. I'd take breaks to play halo 3 and reach on live. My girl used to come over and drink 7 or so drinks and ride me too but no longer. It began in 2010 but didn't reach I ts peak until 2015. I used to polish a half gal a day in 15 nearly, by 20, no more than ten a night. I drank a moderate amount in later years, to this day. I remember having girls over with a 15 pack in the early years now I just hav we a few until I am satiated. I suspect my habit will be life long.

How much can I get for a full recycle bag of beer cans at the Beer Store in Ontario? I thought I heard it was generally accepted at 20 bucks for a full recycle bag before but in my experience when I have counted them up it is less than that at 10 cents a can for a full bag, sometimes only around 100 cans. What do you guys think? And yes, I am that desperate. Being a daily drinker is expensive in Canada with our shitty prices.

Seriously this all depends on who is working, how much they care about the job, whether or not they want to fuck with you. What works at my local bottle return/recycling plant isnt going to be the same as what works for you.

You need to go put in the legwork by trying out your scam. if it doesnt work out, figure out the reason why, adjust scam and try again. this is why there are no good con men anymore. everybody fucking expects the internet to just give them a walkthrough. Hoooooooooo, that seems intense. I'm glad those guys have a spot rather than just sitting out on the street. Kind of like a bar for people who are just too fucked by booze to make it.

Surprised more UK drunks don't go to the liquor. It's the natural final resting place of alcoholics IMO. Mid-tier vodka is my bread and butter. Rarely a hangover and cheap. Mix with water.

Apropos of very little, anyone tried phenibut? Supposedly has alcohol-like effects without inebriation, and terrible withdrawals almost immediately after a habit is established

I don't know what my interests are or what I stand for, I stand for nothing. I see people around me loud and outspoken and doing things in the world and I feel completely alien, I don't relate at all. I seem to lack or have lost these things and don't know how to reclaim them.

I listen to music, allow the pointless but happy artificial booze induced thoughts flow over me. Know that I should call the doctor and get naltrexone. But not today because I just bought some strong beers.
