i just drink whatever is affordable and has the highest alc content for the price. This summer it's been natty daddies. They taste like capybara piss but usually get me feeling good by the end of a six pack. Mixed with some good dank and once in awhile meds, it gets me feeling euphoric enough to enjoy being alive.

>off it

I'm not physically an alcoholic yet (surprisingly, I'm 29 and drink regularly, dunno when the physical symptoms will kick in) so when i don't drink for a few weeks I crave to get drunk but there are no physical side effects associated with alcohol withdrawal. The longest I've gone without drinking is a few weeks, but I binge often.

>what do you like about booze
its a comfy friend you know is waiting for you at the end of the day. or a magical tool that can save you in a pinch.

>fav drink
popov mixed with water. its healthy im a healthy guy

>habit
habitual night sipper, get drunk but not too much. 375-500 ml/night. not as bad as some or even most regulars here, im probably around 75/25 with drinking vs sober days, usually like 1-2 weeks of drinking every night and then 5 days sober and then repeat

>on it
just enjoy myself more. dopamine elevated, basic sense of dread dulled. makes conversations and people more fun you know.

>off it
pretty shit but i usually avoid real hangovers. definitely feel a clarity/greater sense of well-being after a day or two off but that shits boring

lol this really got me for some reason

Had a small routine going a year or so of getting 1-3 beers and sitting down to play a round of chivalry MF each friday, was super comfy. And then it was always catching that best part of beer, that part when you're just starting to feel it and getting hype, without any of the hassle of feeling like shit later. Guess that's my fav drinking habit. Grew a bit too predictable though so I've had a break from it some months. Will have to see when I start to crave it again, if I ever do.

Booze gives me a stupid smile and a longing for friends and getting to know people. Getting back to being cold and calculating feels a bit weird, and sometimes I feel bad about acting too friendly with people I would never even think about sober unless they were staring in my face.

>fav drink/habit?
Beer. I've become a bit of a beer snob though. That's what happens when you spend 10 years nearly daily drinking in craft beer country. My favorites are hefeweisen, imperial IPAs that are heavy on the malt and Oat stouts (fucking Oatis ftw).

>how does it make you feel on it?
Feels great. Kills my anxiety, lets me chill and get really into whatever I'm doing. Makes music worth listening to again.

>off it?
Well, you know. Sobriety sucks ass so I'm usually stoned when I'm not drinking. So OK I guess?

I've been dabbing into scotch whiskeys. Just seeing what all the buzz is about. I'm buying it faster than I can go through it, just to get a good collection for when I have company and/or need to celebrate, and I've been working through a bottle at a time trying to pick out some flavors like the connoisseurs do.

It started when I bought my brother a bottle of macallin 15 for his birthday one time. Since then we've both kinda gotten into it. And a friend of ours inherited a liquor store so we've gotten to dab into a lot via that, cognacs and armagnacs and such. We're just learning some of the history, learning why certain wines and spirits have such a cult following, getting proper tastings of some rarer shit

To me it's a great hobby because it's so universally entertaining. We all love liquor, so why not get a little immersed in it? And I've currently got the financial ability to do so. I'm actually quite happy to be spending a couple bucks on this every week. I mean why collect something useless, when you can have a badass liquor collection instead

Hey OP I like this a question I like a lot! Thanks for asking it.

I suppose I like that I believe when I'm drinking that I can listen to and entertain most thoughts and positions that I generally don't want to trudge through whilst sober. That is, I suppose it makes it easier to get along with viewpoints I generally don't agree with? Basically I feel less worried about most things whilst drinking. Inhibition deletion and whatnot. I feel less self conscious about what I say and how people may perceive what I'm going to say when I'm drinking as opposed to whilst sober. I suppose I think less deeply and that's why I enjoy getting tipsy. Cognitive processes appear to become less complex and more spur of the moment.

Conversely, weed makes the opposite kind of thing apparently happen within my head. That is, when I'm getting baked I feel more contemplative entirely and slowed about every single fucking thing. Way more interested in every minute thing. Alcohol seems to have the opposite type of effect on my cognitive faculties.

Thanks for the brainstorm, OP.

what i drink the most is cooking wine (foodstamps yall)

but what i love the most is either vodka or beeer ^_^

except i hate it when the voices get so bad that i am hyper afraid of making tab cracking noises and i have to open them one by one on tip toe underneath a running bathtub faucet

not sure if im legit schizo or if its the booze

Bruh I'm not paying taxes so your ass can get fucked up on cooking wine. To be fair, I'm also not paying taxes so that the government can spend over 50% of it's income on the military and bomb civilians half way around the world, but it's happening anyways. Carry on, I suppose.

I think the thing that I like about alcohol is that it's legal and I can buy it at the grocery store. Other than that I don't enjoy it very much and I can usually only have one or two beers at a time before it gets uncomfortable.

Booze is bad
It is probably the worst drug
DO NOT DRIVE ON IT
I see my homie with a beautiful life drink those shot bottles and drive 100mph like he's a badass
Dude if you are such a good influence on your kids and coworkers and your dog loves you why would you endanger everything in that way
He's alive but I'm distancing myself to make the eventual casket touch less horrible.

That being said, I love it
a beer after work to unwind
some whiskey for the cold walks
some cognac and cranberry in the islands
you wanna impress a girl, take her to a nice cocktail bar and talk
all girls love attention, booze makes attention easier to give away
whiskey makes your dick soft after a while though
sobriety is exactly what you think it is, alcohol is the wool you pull over your eyes to make the nights less cold and your thoughts more forgiving

And I guess if you're gonna live your life, do what you got to do to enjoy it. Its yours, not mine, his, hers, xers, or any government's.

The one I'm craving hardest and looking for a partner in right now is alcohol and nicotine. The high of being hyped as fuck, hitting that cigarette like a bastard and being blitzed is an ungodly high that I want more than anything.

Off it, being piss drunk I want it more than anything though that isn't much more than baseline, just a faint pull into getting back onto tobacco.

oh, to answer the question, beer
beer is my favorite beverage
also the bane of my fucking existence

i went through a couple of years where i'd slam back most of a bottle of rebel yell (cheap ass bourbon for those not familiar, I was getting it for $20/handle and that was not good for me at all, an hour and a half of labor should not be able to buy 4 hours of obliteration. somehow i never ended up habitually drinking bottom shelf $10 handles of vodka, which i'm grateful for because that phase would have been that much more destructive.

my fav bourbon is bulleit tho

That and music is nice. The rest is shit. Spins, pissing, bloating along with liver failure.

as far as I know, if it's in moderation, it's a pretty safe and relatively healthy combo

a looooot healthier then coke + alcohol for sure

I like that it happens to be legal and strong enough (didn't say it's good, just that it's strong) to intoxicate me to the point that I can somewhat stop wishing I was under the influence of drugs infinitely more enjoyable than booze, such as opioids, benzos, and to a lesser extent stimulants (and for other people cannabis).

If everything else was also legal, I wouldn't likely consume more than 1-3 servings of alcohol alongside a low dose of benzos to kick it up a notch. On one hand booze is okay, but on another it fucking sucks.

There's a dude in Britain, David Nutt, that has an idea to sell drinks with benzos as an alternative to booze. His idea is basically: as long as people can't quit booze, they'd do much better to drink this shit instead. It's the buzz without the organ damage.

I wish that shit existed. I'd drink it. I used to actually like crafted beverages. But now, IDGAF. I just want the buzz, and a mediocre carbonated beverage is a good way to pace yourself.
