i just drink whatever is affordable and has the highest alc content for the price. This summer it's been natty daddies. They taste like capybara piss but usually get me feeling good by the end of a six pack. Mixed with some good dank and once in awhile meds, it gets me feeling euphoric enough to enjoy being alive.

>off it

I'm not physically an alcoholic yet (surprisingly, I'm 29 and drink regularly, dunno when the physical symptoms will kick in) so when i don't drink for a few weeks I crave to get drunk but there are no physical side effects associated with alcohol withdrawal. The longest I've gone without drinking is a few weeks, but I binge often.

its a comfy friend you know is waiting for you at the end of the day. or a magical tool that can save you in a pinch.

>fav drink
popov mixed with water. its healthy im a healthy guy

>habit
habitual night sipper, get drunk but not too much. 375-500 ml/night. not as bad as some or even most regulars here, im probably around 75/25 with drinking vs sober days, usually like 1-2 weeks of drinking every night and then 5 days sober and then repeat

>on it
just enjoy myself more. dopamine elevated, basic sense of dread dulled. makes conversations and people more fun you know.

>off it
pretty shit but i usually avoid real hangovers. definitely feel a clarity/greater sense of well-being after a day or two off but that shits boring

Had a small routine going a year or so of getting 1-3 beers and sitting down to play a round of chivalry MF each friday, was super comfy. And then it was always catching that best part of beer, that part when you're just starting to feel it and getting hype, without any of the hassle of feeling like shit later. Guess that's my fav drinking habit. Grew a bit too predictable though so I've had a break from it some months. Will have to see when I start to crave it again, if I ever do.

Booze gives me a stupid smile and a longing for friends and getting to know people. Getting back to being cold and calculating feels a bit weird, and sometimes I feel bad about acting too friendly with people I would never even think about sober unless they were staring in my face.

Beer. I've become a bit of a beer snob though. That's what happens when you spend 10 years nearly daily drinking in craft beer country. My favorites are hefeweisen, imperial IPAs that are heavy on the malt and Oat stouts (fucking Oatis ftw).

>how does it make you feel on it?
Feels great. Kills my anxiety, lets me chill and get really into whatever I'm doing. Makes music worth listening to again.

>off it?
Well, you know. Sobriety sucks ass so I'm usually stoned when I'm not drinking. So OK I guess?

I've been dabbing into scotch whiskeys. Just seeing what all the buzz is about. I'm buying it faster than I can go through it, just to get a good collection for when I have company and/or need to celebrate, and I've been working through a bottle at a time trying to pick out some flavors like the connoisseurs do.

It started when I bought my brother a bottle of macallin 15 for his birthday one time. Since then we've both kinda gotten into it. And a friend of ours inherited a liquor store so we've gotten to dab into a lot via that, cognacs and armagnacs and such. We're just learning some of the history, learning why certain wines and spirits have such a cult following, getting proper tastings of some rarer shit

To me it's a great hobby because it's so universally entertaining. We all love liquor, so why not get a little immersed in it? And I've currently got the financial ability to do so. I'm actually quite happy to be spending a couple bucks on this every week. I mean why collect something useless, when you can have a badass liquor collection instead

Hey OP I like this a question I like a lot! Thanks for asking it.

I suppose I like that I believe when I'm drinking that I can listen to and entertain most thoughts and positions that I generally don't want to trudge through whilst sober. That is, I suppose it makes it easier to get along with viewpoints I generally don't agree with? Basically I feel less worried about most things whilst drinking. Inhibition deletion and whatnot. I feel less self conscious about what I say and how people may perceive what I'm going to say when I'm drinking as opposed to whilst sober. I suppose I think less deeply and that's why I enjoy getting tipsy. Cognitive processes appear to become less complex and more spur of the moment.

Conversely, weed makes the opposite kind of thing apparently happen within my head. That is, when I'm getting baked I feel more contemplative entirely and slowed about every single fucking thing. Way more interested in every minute thing. Alcohol seems to have the opposite type of effect on my cognitive faculties.

Thanks for the brainstorm, OP.
