Anyone here prescribed ethanol? apparently in sweeden you can get it prescribed for various things, the most obvious being alcoholism. Would prescribing hooch help alcoholics taper or maintain? i have never been in alc wd or really like getting pissed anymore so i wouldnt understand much about booze tolerence and dependecy and such.

is this person called Orange Tree? Also it looks like pic is from Canada. I guess it would help with withdrawal and keep you at zero like methadone does for heroin addicition. But the compulsion to get drunk would still be there. Whether using that to maintain vs benzos would be better or worse I'm not sure

Wouldn't pure ethanol use overtime produce in insane tolerance? Like normal alcohol withdrawals but on steroids? Benzos seem like a much safer option for an alcoholic looking to detox/taper down

They can write that down and then you buy the bottle. In general, benzos or barbs are a much better option. Not to mention they'll help the withdrawal insanely -- if you taper with alc you'll suffer more. I've never once succeeded in an alc taper, but using benzos I've succeeded multiple times to get off (temporary or to reset tol.)

Now I'm off permanently, got off with diazepam. Worked like a charm.
